Magnetization and remagnetization processes in a close-packed nanodispersed barium hexaferrite powder sample in the magnetically stable state were analyzed. Reversibility effects were discussed in terms of interparticle interaction. The diffusion of Ni on a Si (111) surface is investigated by LEED and Auger electron spectroscopy. It is found that, in contrast
to the process on the initially clean Si (111)−7×7 surface, on Si (111) surfaces with submonolayer Co coverages the nature
of the Ni transport mechanism changes at a temperature of about 750 °C, and the Ni surface diffusion coefficients increase
sharply below this temperature.

The possibility of humic acids acting as micellar phase in micellar electrokinetic chromatography was evaluated. We investigated the separation of naphthalene in capillary electrophoresis using various samples of humic acids as micellar phase under different pH conditions, concentrations of humic acid, and temperature. The humic acid samples studied were from different origins including peat, vermicompost and a commercial sample acquired from Aldrich. Methanol was used as a marker for the electroosmotic flow. The results indicate that the formation of micelle depends on the number and nature of the hydrophobic association sites in an aqueous humic acid solution and on the origin and concentration of the humic acid at a defined pH. At lower pH values, the possibility of the humic acid molecule forming pseudomicelles increases due to a combination of neutralized and dissociated charged sites. 相似文献

Two rapid and popular methods—capillary electrophoresis (CE) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) have been compared
for analysis of cotinine in human urine. Cotinine was analyzed in less than 7 min, with detection limits of 5 and 3.2 ng mL−1 for CE and HPLC, respectively. The performance of the methods was evaluated in terms of sensitivity, specificity, precision,
accuracy, and limits of detection and quantification. Calibration plots were linear in the range 50–4,000 ng mL−1, at least, and mean recoveries were satisfactory for both techniques. The methods were successfully used for quantification

De novo site-specific 13C and 15N backbone and sidechain resonance assignments are presented for uniformly enriched E. coli thioredoxin, established using two-dimensional homo- and heteronuclear solid-state magic angle spinning NMR correlation spectroscopy. Backbone dihedral angles and secondary structure were derived from the statistical analysis of the secondary chemical shifts, and are in good agreement with solution values for the intact full-length thioredoxin, with the exception of a small number of residues located at the termini of the individual secondary structure elements. A large number of cross-peaks observed in the DARR spectra with long mixing times correspond to the pairs of carbon atoms separated by 4-6 angstroms, suggesting that DARR could be efficiently employed for observation of medium- and long-range correlations. The 108 amino acid residue E. coli thioredoxin is the largest uniformly enriched protein assigned to this degree of completeness by solid-state NMR spectroscopy to date. It is anticipated that with a combination of two-dimensional correlation experiments and high magnetic fields, resonance assignments and secondary structure can be generally derived for other noncrystalline proteins. 相似文献

Based on their reactions with o-aminophenols we prepared for the first time 4,4′-bis[5-alkyl(aryl)benzoxazol-2-yl]-2-hydroxy-(alkoxy)biphenyls, which might be of interest as luminescent dyes. It is shown for the first time that the addition of ultrasmall amounts of single-wall carbon nanotubes leads to a significant
increase in the main mechanical characteristics of the crosslinked poly(urethane urea) elastomer. The elastic modulus and
the tensile strength pass through maxima as the nanotube concentration is increased from 0 to 0.018 wt %; at a nanotube concentration
of 0.002 wt %, the maximum values of the modulus and strength are higher by factors of 2.5 and 1.5, respectively, than the
corresponding values for the unfilled polymer. The thermomechanical, spectral, and structural characteristics of nanomodified
elastomers are investigated, and possible causes of change in their mechanical parameters are discussed. 相似文献
