Reaction of trihalo(phenylenedioxy)phosphoranes with acetylenes: X. specific features of the reactions of substituted 2,2,2-trichloro-1,3,2λ5-benzodioxaphospholes with 3-chloro(bromo, iodo)propynes

It was shown for the first time that 3-chloro-, 3-bromo-, and 3-iodopropynes can react with 2,2,2-trichloro-, 2,2,2-trichloro-5-methyl-, and 5,6-dibromo-2,2,2-trichloro-1,3,2λ⁵-benzodioxaphospholes to give derivatives of 4-(halomethyl)-2-chloro-2H-1,2λ⁵-benzoxaphosphinin-2-ones. The reaction involves nonselective chlorination of the phenylene substituent in different positions, and the resulting isomer ratio is temperature-dependent. In the reactions of 3-bromo-and 3-iodopropynes with 2,2,2-trichloro-1,3,2λ⁵-benzo-dioxaphosphole, a side process takes place, viz. nucleophilic substitution of bromine and iodine with chlorine. The structure of some of the prepared 4-(chloromethyl)-1,2-benzoxaphosphinines was studied by means of X-ray diffraction.     

Reactions of 3,5-di(tert-butyl)-1,2-benzoquinone with terminal acetylenes in the presence of phosphorus trichloride. ipso-Substitution of the tert-butyl group

The reactions of 3,5-di(tert-butyl)-1,2-benzoquinone with aryl-and alkylacetylenes in the presence of phosphorus trichloride afford 4-aryl(alkyl)-8-tert-butyl-2,6-dichloro-2-oxo-2H-benzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinines as the major ipso-substitution products of the tert-butyl group by the chlorine atom. 4-Aryl(alkyl)-6,8-di(tert-butyl)-2,5-dichloro-2-oxo-and 4-aryl(alkyl)-6-tert-butyl-2,8-dichloro-2-oxo-2H-benzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinines were obtained as the minor products. The New Data for the Reaction of Arylenedioxy Trihalogenophosphoranes with Alkyl- and Arylacetylenes

The new data concerning the reaction between substituted arylenedioxy trihalogenophosphoranes and monoalkyl- or arylacetylenes are summarized. The reaction leads to formation of six-membered heterocycles-2-oxo-4-R-benzo[ e ]-1,2-oxaphosphorin-3-enes. The substituent effects in the phosphorane and acetylene molecules on the ipso -substitution and halogenation regiochemistry are discussed. The ipso -substitution of tert -butyl group on chlorine and the exchange of bromine on chlorine and iodine on hydrogen have been observed, along with formation of benzophosphorines. The interaction of tetrachloro- ortho -benzoquinone with phosphorus trichloride and arylacetylenes is proposed as a new modification of the reaction leading to the formation of benzo[ e ]-1,2-oxaphosphorines. The structures of some benzo[ e ]-1,2-oxaphosphorines are determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Influence of the steric properties of pyridine ligands on the structure of complexes containing the {LnCd2(bzo)7} fragment

The reaction of Cd(NO₃)₂ · 4H₂O and Eu(NO₃)₃ · 6H₂O or Tb(NO₃)₃ · 6H₂O with potassium 3,5-di-tert-butylbenzoate (Kbzo) and N-donor ligands (1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 2,4-lutidine (2,4-lut), 3,4-lutidine (3,4-lut), phenanthridine (phtd), 2,3-cyclododecenopyridine (cdpy), acridine (acr)) afforded heterometallic LnCd₂ complexes: [EuCd₂(bzo)₇(EtOH)₂(phen)] (2), [LnCd₂(bzo)₇(2,4-lut)₄] (Ln = Eu (3), Tb (4)), [EuCd₂(bzo)₇(H₂O)₂(2,4-lut)₂] · MeCN (5), [EuCd₂(NO₃)(bzo)₆(EtOH)₂(2,4-lut)₂] (6), [EuCd₂(bzo)₇(H₂O)(EtOH)(3,4-lut)₂] · 5EtOH (7), 3[EuCd₂(bzo)₇(H₂O)₂(phtd)₂] · 4phtd (8), [EuCd₂(bzo)₇(EtOH)₃(cdpy)] (9), 2[EuCd₂-(bzo)₂(EtOH)₄] · acr (10). The structures of complexes 2, 3, and 5–10 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The isostructurality of complexes 3 and 4 was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction. The structure of the trinuclear {Ln₂Cd} metal core is stable and independent of the type of peripheral ligands coordinated to cadmium atoms. Photoluminescent properties of compounds 3 and 4 were studied.

     

Lanthanide(III) (Eu,Gd, Tb,Dy) Complexes Derived from 4‐(Pyridin‐2‐yl)methyleneamino‐1,2,4‐triazole: Crystal Structure,Magnetic Properties,and Photoluminescence

The reaction of lanthanide(III) nitrates with 4‐(pyridin‐2‐yl)methyleneamino‐1,2,4‐triazole (L) was studied. The compounds [Ln(NO₃)₃(H₂O)₃] ? 2 L, in which Ln=Eu ( 1 ), Gd ( 2 ), Tb ( 3 ), or Dy ( 4 ), obtained in a mixture of MeCN/EtOH have the same structure, as shown by XRD. In the crystals of these compounds, the mononuclear complex units [Ln(NO₃)₃(H₂O)₃] are linked to L molecules through intermolecular hydrogen‐bonding interactions to form a 2D polymeric supramolecular architecture. An investigation into the optical characteristics of the Eu³⁺‐, Tb³⁺‐, and Dy³⁺‐containing compounds ( 1 , 3 , and 4 ) showed that these complexes displayed metal‐centered luminescence. According to magnetic measurements, compound 4 exhibits single‐ion magnet behavior, with ΔE_eff/k_B=86 K in a field of 1500 Oe.     

Reactions of phenylenedioxytrihalophosphoranes with arylacetylenes: VII. Reaction of 2,2,2-trichloro-4-fluoro-1,3,2λ<Superscript>5</Superscript>-benzodioxaphosphole with phenylacetylene

2,2,2-Trichloro-4-fluoro-1,3,2⁵-benzodioxaphosphole reacts with phenylacetylene to give 2,7-dichloro-5-fluoro-4-phenyl-2H-1,2⁵-benzoxaphosphinine 2-oxide. Reaction of 4,6-bis(tert-butyl)-2,2,2-trichlorobenzo[d]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphole with phenylacetylene. ipso-Substitution of the tert-butyl group

The reaction of 4,6-bis(tert-butyl)-2,2,2-trichlorobenzo[d]-1,3,2-dioxaphosphole with phenylacetylene follows the mechanism of ipso-substitution of the tert-butyl group that is in para-position relative to the endocyclic O atom of the heterocycle, predominantly yielding 8-(tert-butyl)-2,6-dichloro-2-oxo-4-phenylbenzo[e]-1,2-oxaphosphorinine (NMR data). The structure of its hydrolysis product, 8-(tert-butyl)-6-chloro-2-hydroxy-2-oxo-4-phenylbenzo[e]-1,2-oxaphosphorinine, was proved by X-ray diffraction analysis.
