The heat capacity of the liquid-liquid mixture nitrobenzene-dodecane has been measured for the first time near its upper critical consolute point using an adiabatic calorimeter. The theoretical expression for the heat capacity near the critical point was applied to our combined data runs. The critical exponent alpha was determined to be 0.124+/-0.006, which was consistent with theoretical predictions. When alpha was fixed at its theoretical value of 0.11, our value for the amplitude ratio A(+)A(-)=0.58+/-0.02 was consistent with experimental determinations and theoretical predictions. However, the two-scale-factor universality ratio X, now consistent among experiments and theories with a value between 0.019 and 0.020, was violated in this system when using a previously published value for the correlation length.  相似文献

Cell surface proteins of the human gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori extracted during different in vitro growth phases were analyzed by one- and two-dimensional gelelectrophoresis (1-DE and 2-DE) and by 2-DE immunoblot. Broth-cultured H. pylori cells were stained with an acridine-orange dye to monitor the morphological status of the organism. In 2-day-cultures, 96% of the bacterial cells were spiral-shaped and four days later a morphological switch to coccoid forms occurred. In 10-day cultures spiral-shaped forms were not found. By 1-DE, proteins with the molecular masses of 87 and 120 kDa were detected in the 2-day cultures that disappeared in cells of 12-day cultures. A protein corresponding in size to the heat shock protein (GroEl homolog, Hsp60) and a 62 kDa protein, the ureaseB-subunit, were identified in extracted proteins of 2-, 8-, and 12-day cultures. 2-DE revealed an increased number of silver-stained spots of 8-day cultures (in average 250 spots) compared with protein extracted from 2-day cells (in average 160 spots). 2-DE immunoblots performed with sera containing antibodies to major H. pylori proteins such as the A- and B-subunits of urease and the Hsp60 showed similar reactivity to surface proteins extracted from 2-, 8-, and 12-day cultures, suggesting that these proteins remain immunologically intact. Pooled sera from infected patients absorbed with spiral-shaped cells showed an almost total blocking of the antibody reactivity to extracted coccoid proteins in 2-DE immunoblot. Eighteen spots were still visible, but this reactivity probably represents a solid overexpression by the coccoid cells of Hsp60 and ureaseB proteins and is thus difficult to block.  相似文献

A series of heteroditopic receptors containing halogen bond (XB) and unprecedented chalcogen bond (ChB) donors integrated into a 3,5-bis-triazole pyridine structure covalently linked to benzo-15-crown-5 ether motifs exhibit remarkable cooperative recognition of halide anions. Multi-nuclear 1H, 13C, 125Te and 19F NMR, ion pair binding investigations reveal sodium cation–benzo-crown ether binding dramatically enhances the recognition of bromide and iodide halide anions, with the chalcogen bonding heteroditopic receptor notably displaying the largest enhancement of halide binding strength of over two hundred-fold, in comparison to the halogen bonding and hydrogen bonding heteroditopic receptor analogues. DFT calculations suggest crown ether sodium cation complexation induces a polarisation of the sigma hole of ChB and XB heteroditopic receptor donors as a significant contribution to the origin of the unique cooperativity exhibited by these systems.  相似文献

A careful study of the phosphorescence afterglow and the thermoluminescence (TL) of sol-gel-prepared m-ZrO2 nanocrystalline powders in an extended temperature range ?100 to 300 °C was carried out. Wavelength-resolved TL proved the existence of a single active luminescence centre in this temperature range. A TL method based on various heating rates was used to derive more reliable trap depths of 0.75, 0.95, 1.25, 1.46 and 1.66 eV whereas deconvolution methods provided somewhat lower values. The most intense room-temperature afterglows (that were easily observable beyond 1000 s) were obtained from samples annealed at 1250 and 1500 °C, and were attributed mainly to depopulation of the 1.25 eV traps.  相似文献
