The fourth prototype holds a pair of column holders in the lateral position at 15 cm from the center of the rotary shaft horizontally mounted on the rotary frame at 7.6 cm from the central axis of the apparatus. Using short coils of 2.6 mm I.D. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tubing with 7.6 cm and 24 cm helical diameters, retention of the stationary phase was measured in ten pairs of two-phase solvent systems under various experimental conditions. Satisfactory retention was obtained by choosing proper combinations of three factors, i.e., the direction of planetary motion, head-tail elution mode, and inward-outward elution mode. The polar butanol solvent systems showed excellent retention from 65 to 80% in the 7.6 cm helical diameter left-handed coil.  相似文献

The first symposium on gravitational collapse and other aspects of relativistic astrophysics (Texas 1, in retrospect) was inspired by one idea—gravitational collapse of massive objects as an energy source—and one observational discovery—the large red shifts of optical counterparts of the quasistellar radiosources (soon quasars, even when radio quiet). Since that time, there has been fierce interplay at Symposia 2–26 between new ideas, new observations (or experiments if you are a physicist) and old ideas given new life. The talk and this paper explore a subset of the interactions. Texas has typically been a broad church, admitting nonstandard ideas and disputed data. Very approximately, half are still part of our universe of discourse.  相似文献

Experimental results are presented for stress evolution, in vacuum and electrolyte, for the first monolayer of Cu on Au(111). In electrolyte the monolayer is pseudomorphic and the stress-thickness change is -0.60 N/m, while conventional epitaxy theory predicts a value of +7.76 N/m. In vacuum, the monolayer is incoherent with the underlying gold. Using a combination of first-principles based calculations and molecular dynamic simulations we analyzed these results and demonstrate that in electrolyte, overlayer coherency is maintained owing to anion adsorption.  相似文献

Background  

Growth hormone (GH) plays an incompletely understood role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we use transgenic mice expressing a growth hormone antagonist (GHA) to explore the role of GH in regulating postnatal brain, spinal cord and body growth into adulthood. The GHA transgene encodes a protein that inhibits the binding of GH to its receptor, specifically antagonizing the trophic effects of endogenous GH.  相似文献

A new, self-contained, proof of a coherence result for categories equipped with two symmetric monoidal structures bridged by a natural transformation is given. Large enhancements have been observed in the sub-barrier fusion cross sections for Ti+Ni systems in our previous studies. Coupled channel calculations incorporating couplings to 2+ and 3 states failed to explain these enhancements completely. A possibilty of transfer channels contributing to the residual enhancements had been suggested. In order to investigate the role of relevant transfer channels, measurements of one- and two-nucleon transfer were carried out for 46,48Ti+61Ni systems. Catalytic hydrogenation of (2-nitrophenyl)acetonitriles bearing an electron-withdrawing substituent α to the nitrile, using Pd/C and (Ph3P)4Pd, affords N-hydroxy-2-aminoindoles in good to excellent yields. (Ph3P)4Pd decreases the reduction rate of the intermediate hydroxylamine and acts as a catalyst during the cyclization onto the nitrile.  相似文献
