Anomalies of ultrasonic velocity in high-Tc ceramics YBa2Cu3Oy and BiSrCaCu2Oy

Ultrasonic longitudinal velocity and adsorption have been measured in ceramic superconductors YBa₂Cu₃O_y with various porosity and also in BiSrCaCu₂O_y. A velocity drop of about 400 ppm was found at T_c only in the measurements on cooling. The magnitude of the velocity drop is anomalously large compared with the value expected from the thermodynamics. A hysteresis of velocity with respect to temperature was observed in all the samples studied. It is suggested that some structural change at pore size level is responsible for this phenomenon.     

Temperature dependence of the exafs spectrum in YBa2Cu3O7−δ compounds

The temperature dependence of the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) is studied in the high T_c superconductors, YBa₂Cu₃O_7−δ. The measurements were done at the Cu K-edge for samples of two orthorhombic phases (T_c≈90 K and ≈58 K, respectively) and a nonsuperconducting tetragonal phase. Interatomic distances and mean square relative displacements σ² for Cu-O bonds are determined by the least squares refinement. The results indicate that values of σ² increase near T_c for both the orthorhombic samples. It is concluded that this anomalous behavior related to T_c is caused by an anomalous vibration of oxygen atoms in the Ba-O layer. Changes in the Cu-O distances from 300 to 20 K are not found.     

双奇核188Au的准粒子带结构研究

利用在束γ谱学实验技术, 通过¹⁷³Yb(¹⁹F,4nγ)反应 布居了¹⁸⁸Au的高自旋态, 并对其准粒子带结构进行了研究. 基于实验测量结果, 对原有的双奇核¹⁸⁸Au能级纲图做了较大的修改. 通过系统性比较, 对15⁺以上的能级结构进行了讨论.     

Syntheses and characterization of 16‐arm star and star diblock copolymer and AB8 9‐miktoarm star copolymer via NMRP and ROP from dendritic multifunctional macroinitiators

A dendritic macroinitiator having 16 TEMPO‐based alkoxyamines, Star‐16 , was prepared by the reaction of a dendritic macroinitiator having eight TEMPO‐based alkoxyamines, [G‐3]‐OH , with 4,4′‐bis(chlorocarbonyl)biphenyl. The nitroxide‐mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) of styrene (St) from Star‐16 gave 16‐arm star polymers with PDI of 1.19–1.47, and NMPR of 4‐vinylpyridine from the 16‐arm star polymer gave 16‐arm star diblock copolymers with PDI of 1.30–1.43. The ring‐opening polymerization of ε‐caprolactone from [G‐3]‐OH and the subsequent NMRP of St gave AB₈ 9‐miktoarm star copolymers with PDI of 1.30–1.38. The benzyl ether linkages of the 16‐arm star polymers and the AB₈ 9‐miktoarm star copolymers were cleaved by treating with Me₃SiI, and the resultant poly(St) arms were investigated by size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The SEC results showed PDIs of 1.23–1.28 and 1.18–1.22 for the star polymers and miktoarm stars copolymers, respectively, showing that they have well‐controlled poly(St) arms. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two-mass models of the vocal cords for natural sounding voice synthesis

Three new two-mass models of the vocal cords are treated. First, the features, structure, and differential equations of motion are described for each of the new models and compared with those of previous models. Second, performances of the models are discussed in terms of glottal volume flow, glottal area, radiated sound pressure, trajectories of mass movement, running spectra of the output sound pressure, and perceptual naturalness of the output sound. Finally, the major effects of glottal source-vocal tract interaction including skewing, truncation, and superposition are investigated, using one of the simplest types of two-mass models and two types of load representing the vocal tract.     

Synthesis of 3-hydroxyindolin-2-one alkaloids, (±)-donaxaridine and (±)-convolutamydines A and E, through enolization-Claisen rearrangement of 2-allyloxyindolin-3-ones

Claisen rearrangement triggered by enolization of 2-allyloxyindolin-3-ones with DBU was performed in order to prepare 3-allyl-3-hydroxyindolin-2-ones. Total synthesis of 3-hydroxyindolin-2-one alkaloids, (±)-donaxaridine, as well as (±)-convolutamydines A and E, was achieved by transformation of the allyl moiety of 3-allyl-3-hydroxyindolin-2-ones.     

Antiandrogen. I. 2-azapregnane and 2-oxapregnane steroids.

2-Azachlormadinone acetate (5a, 17-acetoxy-6-chloro-2-azapregna-4,6-diene- 3,20-dione), 2-oxachlormadinone acetate (6, 17-acetoxy-6-chloro-2-oxapregna-4,6-diene-3,20-dione) and the derivatives were prepared as potential antiandrogenic agents. Biological evaluation showed that 5a and 6 had a potent antiandrogenic activity when tested in the castrated male rat.
