Several approaches to quantifying measurement uncertainty in k 0-based neutron activation analysis (k 0-NAA) are reviewed, comprising the original approach, the spreadsheet approach, the dedicated computer program involving analytical calculations and the two k 0-NAA programs available on the market. Two imperfectness in the dedicated programs are identified, their impact assessed and possible improvements presented for a concrete experimental situation. The status of uncertainty assessment in k 0-NAA is discussed and steps for improvement are recommended. It is concluded that the present magnitude of measurement uncertainty should further be improved by making additional efforts in reducing uncertainties of the relevant nuclear constants used.  相似文献

The ability to produce, reproducibly and systematically, well‐defined quadruplex DNA nanowires through controlled rational design is poorly understood despite potential utility in structural nanotechnology. The programmed hierarchical self‐assembly of a long four‐stranded DNA nanowire through cohesive self‐assembly of GpC and CpG “sticky” ends is reported. The encoding of bases within the quadruplex stem allows for an uninterrupted π‐stacking system with rectilinear propagation for hundreds of nanometers in length. The wire is mechanically stable and features superior nuclease resistance to double‐stranded DNA. The study indicates the feasibility for programmed assembly of uninterrupted quadruplex DNA nanowires. This is fundamental to the systematic investigation of well‐defined DNA nanostructures for uses in optoelectronic and electronic devices as well as other structural nanotechnology applications.  相似文献

The validity of the concept of laser-driven vacuum acceleration has been questioned, based on an extrapolation of the well-known Lawson-Woodward theorem, which stipulates that plane electromagnetic waves cannot accelerate charged particles in vacuum. To formally demonstrate that electrons can indeed be accelerated in vacuum by focusing or diffracting electromagnetic waves, the interaction between a point charge and coherent dipole radiation is studied in detail. The corresponding four-potential exactly satisfies both Maxwell's equations and the Lorentz gauge condition everywhere, and is analytically tractable. It is found that in the far-field region, where the field distribution closely approximates that of a plane wave, we recover the Lawson-Woodward result, while net acceleration is obtained in the near-field region. The scaling of the energy gain with wave-front curvature and wave amplitude is studied systematically.  相似文献

A proficiency test (PT) was carried out to investigate the quality of laboratory results measuring trace elements in sewage sludge. The scheme relied on reference values, established through flame atomic absorption spectroscopy and instrumental neutron activation analysis. Within the framework of the project, ”Proficiency testing in Central and Eastern European Countries”, the measurements were done in parallel using induced coupled plasma mass spectrometry. This paper discusses the design of the PTS, the metrological concepts behind it and the way in which it was operated. The discussion includes the estimation of measurement uncertainty of the reference values obtained, homogeneity testing and its uncertainty evaluation, as well as all relevant quality assurance aspects. From the results, it can be concluded that all measurement methods involved agree within their respective uncertainties. Furthermore, it can be concluded that it is feasible to operate a proficiency test of trace elements in sewage sludge using reference values. The agreement between the reference values and the consensus values is satisfactory.  相似文献
