Sterostreins A-E, new terpenoids from cultures of the Basidiomycete Stereum ostrea BCC 22955

Sterostreins A-E (1, 2, 3a/3b, 4, and 5), five novel terpenoids, were isolated from cultures of the mushroom fungus Stereum ostrea BCC 22955. Sterostrein A (1) exhibited antimalarial activity (IC(50) 2.3 μg/mL) and cytotoxicity (IC(50) 5.3-38 μg/mL).     

Synthesis,characterization, and properties of novel bis(aryl)carbazole-containing N-coumarin derivatives

A series of novel N-coumarin derivatives containing oligothiophene-substituted N-coumarins as the core and bis(aryl)carbazoles as the substituent were synthesized and characterized. Their optical, electrochemical, and thermal properties were investigated. The electroluminescence (EL) properties of the selected materials were also studied. Solution-processed OLEDs with green and yellow light emission, turn-on voltages of 2.7–2.9 V, and maximum luminance efficiencies of up to 3.94 cd A⁻¹ at 17.6 mA cm⁻² (maximum power efficiency of 1.62 lm W⁻¹) were prepared.     

Phenylglycol Metabolites from Cultures of the Basidiomycete Mycena pruinosoviscida BCC 22723

Mycenadiols A–D ( 1 – 4 , resp.), phenylglycols possessing an ethynyl or vinyl (ethenyl) group were isolated from cultures of the basidiomycete Mycena pruinosoviscida BCC 22723. The structures were elucidated on the basis of NMR‐spectroscopic and mass spectrometric data. The absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were determined by synthesis. Compounds 1 – 4 are synthetically known, but, they have not been previously isolated from natural sources.
