Summary We show the presence of an ether group in alkoxy radicals significantly lowers the activation energy of the b-C-H dissociation and only slightly increases the isomerization barrier. Moreover, an 1-6 isomerization mechanism involving a 7-membered transition state may compete with the usual 1-5 isomerization.  相似文献

The effect of simultaneous substitution of a fluctuating cation and a divalent cation in LaMnO3 perovskite modifies the properties of the material to exhibit large valence colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) effect. A good example of these properties is (La1−2x Pr x Ca x )MnO3 (LPCMO) type CMR material. In this communication it is reported that, with the increase in x (for x=0.1, 0.15, 0.2), the T c varies between 100 and 120 K with improvisation in metal-insulator transition. Interestingly, resistance increases with x from few hundred ohms to few kilo ohms with corresponding decrease in the unit cell volume. The results of the studies using X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance and ac susceptibility measurements on LPCMO samples for understanding the structural, transport and magnetic properties are discussed in detail.  相似文献

Dipolar waves describe the structure and topology of helices in membrane proteins. The fit of sinusoids with the 3.6 residues per turn period of ideal alpha-helices to experimental measurements of dipolar couplings as a function of residue number makes it possible to simultaneously identify the residues in the helices, detect kinks or curvature in the helices, and determine the absolute rotations and orientations of helices in completely aligned bilayer samples and relative rotations and orientations of helices in a common molecular frame in weakly aligned micelle samples. Since as much as 80% of the structured residues in a membrane protein are in helices, the analysis of dipolar waves provides a significant step toward structure determination of helical membrane proteins by NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations at the B3LYP/6–311 ++G(2df,2p) and B3LYP/6–31G(d) level have been carried out to investigate the reaction mechanism of methionine sulfoxide reductases of class A. These enzymes reduce oxidized methionine in vivo and therefore play an important role in repairing protein damage caused by the oxidative stress. Our calculations have been carried out for a model reaction in a model active site. Several reaction mechanisms have been explored that can roughly be described as (2H+ + 2e) or (H+ + e). The results suggest that the actual reaction mechanism is of the (2H+ + 2e) type corresponding to a more or less asynchronous-concerted double-proton transfer reaction leading to the formation of methionine (dimethylthioether in our model) and a sulfenic acid Cys-SOH. The Michaelis complex would involve one deprotonated Cys and one protonated Glu residues in the active site, this protonation state being mandatory to stabilize the sulfoxide substrate. Then, proton transfer from Glu to the substrate takes place, followed by proton transfer from one Tyr residue and fast reorganization of the system. The overall activation energy barrier is estimated to fall in the range 7–9 kcal/mol, much lower than the predicted barrier in DMSO solution (29.6 kcal/mol) reported before.  相似文献

Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy was used to measure the elastic constants of bcc Ta0.33V0.67 over the temperature range 3.5–300?K; the results were compared to earlier measurements on C15 TaV2. The temperature dependence of the polycrystalline shear modulus is completely different in the two phases; that of the bcc phase decreases with temperature whereas that of the C15 phases increases in an anomalous fashion. This difference is consistent with a model involving doubly-degenerate levels at the X point of the Brillouin zone in the C15 phase with the Fermi level lying near the doubly degenerate level. This model accounted for the unusual behaviour of the C15 phase. Debye temperatures were determined from the ultrasonic measurements: 295?K for the C15 phase and 315?K for the bcc phase.  相似文献

Th electromagnetic field produced by a magnetic dipole in thepresence of a perfectly conducting cone of arbitrary cross-sectionis determined. The solution is used to find out how a currenton the cone travelling towards the apex is reflected. Some valuesof the reflection coefficient are calculated. A new series of mixed oxide superconductors with the stoichiometric composition La2−x Dy x Ca y Ba2Cu4+y O z (x=0.0 − 0.5, y=2x) has been studied for structural and superconductiong properties. Our earlier studies on La2−x (Y/Er) x Ca y Ba2Cu4+y O z series, show a strong dependence of T c on hole concentration (p sh). In the present work, the results of the analysis of the neutron diffraction measurements at room temprerature on x=0.3 and 0.5 samples are reported. It is interesting to know that Ca substitutes for both La and Ba site with concomitant displacement of La onto Ba site. Superconductivity studies show that maximum T c is obtained for x=0.5, y=1.0 sample (T c ∼ 75 K), for La1.5Dy0.5Ca1Ba2Cu5O z (La-2125).  相似文献
