A process was developed to fractionate corn fiber into glucose- and pentose-rich fractions. Corn fiber was ammonia fiber explosion treated at 90 degrees C, using 1 g anhydrous ammonia pergram of drybiomass, 60% moisture, and 30-min residence time. Twenty four hour hydrolysis of ammonia fiber explosion-treated corn fiber with cellulase converted 83% of available glucanto-glucose. In this hydrolysis the hemicellulose was partially broken down with 81% of the xylan and 68% of the arabinan being contained in the hydrolysate after filtration to remove lignin and other insoluble material. Addition of ethanol was used to precipitate and recover the solubilized hemicellulose from the hydrolysate, followed by hydrolysis with 2% (v/v) sulfuric acid to convert the recovered xylan and arabinan to monomeric sugars. Using this method, 57% of xylose and 54% of arabinose available in corn fiber were recovered in a pentose-rich stream. The carbohydrate composition of the pentose-enriched stream was 5% glucose, 57% xylose, 27% arabinose, and 11% galactose. The carbohydrate composition of the glucose-enriched stream was 87% glucose, 5% xylose, 6% arabinose, and 1% galactose, and contained 83% of glucose available from the corn fiber.  相似文献

Remmers (Adv. Math. 36:283–296, 1980) uses group diagrams in the Euclidean plane to demonstrate how equality in a semigroup S “mirrors” that inside the group G sharing the same presentation with S, when S satisfies Adyan’s condition—no cycles in the left/right graphs of the semigroup’s presentation. Goldstein and Teymouri (Semigroup Forum 47:299–304, 1993) introduce a conjugacy equivalence relation for semigroups S. By closely examining the geometry of annular group diagrams in the plane, they show how their equivalence relation mirrors conjugacy inside G, for S satisfying Adyan’s. In this article we introduce two cancellative commutative congruences. Following their leads, we examine the geometry of group diagrams on closed surfaces of higher genera to demonstrate how these congruences mirror equality inside two naturally associated Abelian quotient groups G/[G,G] and G/G 2, respectively. Pretreatment of switchgrass by ammonia fiber explosion (AFEX)   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The effects of ammonia fiber explosion (AFEX) pretreatment of switch grass using its major process variables are reported. The optimal pretreatment conditions for switchgrass were found to be near 100°C reactor temperature, and ammonia loading of 1:1 kg of ammonia: kg of dry matter with 80% moisture content (dry weight basis [dwb]) at 5 min residence time. Hydrolysis results of AFEX-treated and untreated samples showed 93% vs 16% glucan conversion, respectively. The ethanol yield of optimized AFEX-treated switchgrass was measured to be about 0.2 g ethanol/g dry biomass, which is 2.5 times more than that of the untreated sample.  相似文献

Power transformers aging is investigated by a chemical aging model and an electrical-thermal aging model. In the chemical aging model, oil and cellulose chemical status are considered, but transformer load is not considered, while in the electrical-thermal model, only the effects of load and hotspot temperature are considered. The primary purpose of this paper is to combine both aging models to achieve a transformer life management model that considers the effect of all chemical parameters and the transformer load current simultaneously. Combining one chemical and one electrical-thermal aging model to reach a life management model for the transformer means that the remaining life of the transformer is first estimated using the chemical aging model by the provided equations for pre-exponential factor and activation energy in this paper. For this estimation, after conducting scientific studies, including experimental studies and computation on measurement results, an empirical mathematical equation will be presented to calculate the activation energy. Then using the presented equation, the remaining life will be estimated more accurately. Then, in the next step, this estimated life will be used in the electrical-thermal aging model and finally, a hotspot temperature will be calculated for the transformer. Finally, using the proposed hotspot temperature value and presented equations in this paper, a load current will be determined, which is recommended that the transformer load should not exceed that value. Finally, the proposed equation for activation energy calculation and the presented life management model validation will be verified using some transformers measurement results.

Sensitive and precise voltammetric methods for the determination of trace amounts of furaldehydes, mainly as furfural (F) and 5‐hydroxymethyl‐2‐furaldehyde (HMF), in foods, pharmaceutical and other matrices is described. Determination of total furaldehyde at <μg g?1 levels in alkaline buffered aqueous media was individually investigated. By the use of ordinary SWV and adsorptive square wave stripping voltammetry (Ad‐SWSV), the detection limits for determination of F and HMF found to be 400 and 10 ng g?1, respectively. At a 1.0 μg g?1 level of furfural in sample, the relative standard deviation (n=4) was 2.79%. The application of Ad‐SWSV to the determination of F and HMF, after their in situ derivatization with trimethylaminoacetohydrazide chloride (Girard's reagent T) at a static mercury drop electrode (SMDE) in NH3‐NH4Cl buffer of pH 9.5, resulted in a limit of detection of 10 ng g?1 for the resolved peaks of HMF and F. The results obtained by the proposed method for the real samples were compared with the corresponding results from UV‐spectrophotometry and HPLC experiments in various matrices.  相似文献

The aerial parts of wild and cultivated Mentha mozaffarianii Jamzad were collected at full flowering stage from two provinces (Hormozgan and Fars) of Iran. The essential oils were extracted by a Clevenger approach and analysed using GC and GC–MS. The main components in wild plants were piperitenone (33.85%), piperitone (21.18%), linalool (6.89%), pulegone (5.93%), 1, 8.cineole (5.49%), piperitenone oxide (5.17%) and menthone (4.69%) and in cultivated plants, cis-piperitone epoxide (28.89%), linalool (15.36%), piperitone (11.57%), piperitenone oxide (10.14%), piperitenone (8.42%),1,8-cineole (3.60%) were the main constituents in essential oil. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the essential oil of M. mozaffarianii was studied against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The results of the bioassays showed that the oil exhibited high antimicrobial activity against all the tested pathogens.  相似文献

A critical parameter affecting the economic feasibility of lignocellulosic bioconversion is the production of inexpensive and highly active cellulase enzymes in bulk quantity. A promising approach to reduce enzyme costs is to genetically transform plants with the genes of these enzymes, thereby producing the desired cellulases in the plants themselves. Extraction and recovery of active proteins or release of active cellulase from the plants during bioconversion could have a significant positive impact on overall lignocellulose conversion economics. The effects of ammonia fiber explosion (AFEX) pretreatment variables (treatment temperature, moisture content, and ammonia loading) on the activity of plant-produced heterologous cellulase enzyme were individually investigated via heat treatmett or ammonia treatment. Finally, we studied the effects of all these variables in concert through the AFEX process. The plant materials included transgenic tobacco plants expressing E1 (endoglucanase from Acidothermus cellulolyticus). The E1 activity was measured in untreated and AFEX-treated tobacco leaves to investigate the effects of the treatment on the activity of this enzyme. The maximum observed activity retention in AFEX-treated transgenic tobacco samples compared with untreated samples was approx 35% (at 60°C, 0.5∶1 ammonia loading, and 40% moisture). Based on these findings, it is our opinion that AFEX pretreatment is not a suitable option for releasing cellulase enzyme from transgenic plants.  相似文献
