Plants in the genus Erythrina is a potential source of chemical constituents, one of which is flavonoids, which have diverse bioactivities. To date, literature on the flavonoids from the genus Erythrina has only highlighted the phytochemical aspects, so this review article will discuss isolation techniques and strategies for the first time. More than 420 flavonoids have been reported in the Erythrina genus, which are grouped into 17 categories. These flavonoid compounds were obtained through isolation techniques and strategies using polar, semi-polar, and non-polar solvents. Various chromatographic techniques have been developed to isolate flavonoids using column flash chromatography, quick column chromatography, centrifugally accelerated thin-layer chromatography, radial chromatography, medium-pressure column chromatography, semi-preparative high-performance liquid chromatography, and preparative high-performance liquid chromatography. Chromatographic processes for isolating flavonoids can be optimized using multivariate statistical applications such as response surface methodology with central composite design, Box–Behnken design, Doehlert design, and mixture design.  相似文献

The three-dimensional structures of oleandomycin (1) and its derivatives oleandomycin-9-oxime (2) and 10,11-anhydrooleandomycin (3) were determined in different solvents by the combined use of NMR and molecular modeling methods. The experimental NMR data were compared with the results of molecular modeling and known crystal structures of the related molecules. It was shown that the dominant conformation of the lactone ring is the folded-out conformation with some amounts of the folded-in one depending on the solvent and temperature, while desosamine and cladinose sugars adopt the usual chair conformations. Modeling calculations provided evidence for conformational changes in the upper lactone region as well. Saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR experiments have provided information on the binding epitopes of 1-3 in complexes with E. coli ribosomes. The obtained molecular surfaces in close contact with ribosomes were compared with recently available 3D structures of the related macrolide-ribosome complexes, and the observed differences were discussed. The knowledge gained from this study can serve as a platform for the design of novel macrolides with an improved biological profile.  相似文献

We report the discovery of 180° electron-spin precession in spin-polarized electron-reflection experiments on Fe films on Ag(001), the largest possible precession angle in a single electron reflection. Both experiments as a function of Fe film thickness and ab initio calculations show that the appearance of this ultimate spin precession depends with utmost sensitivity on the relaxation of the Fe surface layers during growth. Similar spin precession is also predicted for other ferromagnetic films.  相似文献

By electrolytic oxidation of various metal anodes, metal ions can be quantitatively introduced into solution. This process can be used for coulometric determination of anions forming insoluble salts with metal ions.Semimicro and micro determinations of chloride, bromide and iodide ions with electrolytically generated silver ions have been performed at constant current and by a simple apparatus. The end-points have been determined with adsorption indicators, i.e. with dichloro(R)fluorescein for chlorides and eosin for bromides and iodides. The lower concentration limit of applicability of this method depends on the sensitivity of the end-point determination method used.The developed method of coulometric argentometry presents a new possibility for coulometric standardization of volumetric solutions, in conformity with our earlier proposals, as well as a further support for the introduction of the coulomb as a primary standard in all analytical chemistry.  相似文献

Most environmentally important gases (such as oxygen or carbon dioxide) have low solubility. The transfer process of such gases across the air–water interface is controlled by molecular diffusion and turbulence, concentrated within a very thin layer in the water side. A challenge for a better understanding of the problem is to be able to elucidate the transport processes happening within this thin layer. We used non-invasive measurement techniques to study the interaction between the gas transfer process and the hydrodynamic condition in the water phase with two different turbulence forcing mechanisms, namely grid-stirred and buoyant-convective turbulence. The experimental setup for the turbulence generation and the measurement techniques are described. The different dominating turbulent transport mechanisms of the two cases were discussed, and a comparison of the different measured scales between the two cases is also presented.  相似文献

Two new dammarane-type triterpenoid fatty acid ester derivatives, 3β-oleate-20S-hydroxydammar-24-en (1) and 3β-oleate-20S,24S-epoxy-25-hydroxydammarane (2) with a known dammarane-type triterpenoid compound, such as 20S-hydroxydammar-24-en-3-on (3), were isolated from the stem bark of Aglaia elliptica (C.DC.) Blume. The chemical structures were determined by spectroscopic methods, including FTIR, NMR (one and two-dimensional), and HRESITOF-MS analysis, as well as chemical derivatization and comparison with previous literature. Furthermore, the synthetic analog resulting from transesterification of 1 and 2 also obtained 3β,20S-dihydroxy-dammar-24-en (4) and 20S,24S-epoxy-3β,25-dihydroxydammarane (5), respectively. The cytotoxic effect of all isolated and synthetic analog compounds was evaluated using PrestoBlue reagent against MCF-7 breast cancer cell and B16-F10 melanoma cell lines. The 20S-hydroxydammar-24-en-3-on (3) showed the strongest activity against MCF-7 breast cancer and B16-F10 melanoma cell, indicating that the ketone group at C-3 in 3 plays an essential role in the cytotoxicity of dammarane-type triterpenoid. On the other hand, compounds 1 and 2 had very weak cytotoxic activity against the two cell lines, indicating the presence of fatty acid, significantly decreasing cytotoxic activity. This showed the significance of the discovery to investigate the essential structural feature in dammarane-type triterpenoid, specifically for the future development of anticancer drugs.  相似文献

Pickering emulsions are emulsion systems stabilized by solid particles at the interface of oil and water. Pickering emulsions are considered to be natural, biodegradable, and safe, so their applications in various fields—such as food, cosmetics, biomedicine, etc.—are very promising, including as a vehicle for essential oils (EOs). These oils contain volatile and aromatic compounds and have excellent properties, such as antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant activities. Despite their superior properties, EOs are prone to evaporation, decompose when exposed to light and oxygen, and have low solubility, limiting their industrial applications. Several studies have shown that EOs in Pickering emulsions displays less sensitivity to evaporation and oxidation, stronger antibacterial activity, and increased solubility. In brief, the application of Pickering emulsions for EOs is interesting to explore. This review discusses recent progress in the application of Pickering emulsions, particularly as EO carriers, drug carriers, antioxidant and antimicrobial carriers, and in active packaging.  相似文献
