This paper reviews the use of solid polymeric electrolyte (SPE) and gel polymeric electrolyte (GPE) in photoelectrochemical cell (PEC) and dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The structure of PEC and its working principle are presented. The various types of polymer electrolytes utilized in PEC and DSSC have been highlighted in this review. It also highlights the comparison of performance of PEC and DSSC utilizing those polymer electrolytes. This review is completed with the list of other SPEs that potentially be tested in DSSC.  相似文献

A nanoparticle TiO2 solid-state photoelectrochemical cell utilizing as a solid electrolyte of poly(acrylonitrile)–propylene–carbonate–lithium perchlorate (PAN–PC–LiClO4) has been fabricated. The performance of the device has been tested in the dark and under illumination of 100-mW cm−2 light. A nanoparticle TiO2 film was deposited onto indium tin oxide-covered glass substrate by controlled hydrolysis technique assisted with spin-coating technique. The average grain size for the TiO2 film is 76 nm. LiClO4 salt was used as a redox couple. The room temperature conductivity of the electrolyte is 4.2 × 10−4 S cm−1. A graphite electrode was prepared onto a glass slide by electron beam evaporation technique. The device shows the rectification property in the dark and shows the photovoltaic effect under illumination. The best J sc and V oc of the device were 2.82 μA cm−2 and V oc of 0.58 V, respectively, obtained at the conductivity of 4.2 × 10−4 S cm−1 and intensity of 100 mW cm−2. The J sc was improved by about three times by introducing nanoparticle TiO2 and by using a solid electrolyte of PAN–PC–LiClO4 replacing PVC–PC–LiClO4 in the device. The current transport mechanism of the cell is also presented in this paper.  相似文献

Biodiesel is considered a sustainable alternative to petro-diesel owing to several favorable characteristics. However, higher production costs, primarily due to the use of costly edible oils as raw materials, are a chief impediment to its pecuniary feasibility. Exploring non-edible oils as raw material for biodiesel is an attractive strategy that would address the economic constraints associated with biodiesel production. This research aims to optimize the reaction conditions for the production of biodiesel through an alkali-catalyzed transesterification of Tamarindus indica seed oil. The Taguchi method was applied to optimize performance parameters such as alcohol-to-oil molar ratio, catalyst amount, and reaction time. The fatty acid content of both oil and biodiesel was determined using gas chromatography. The optimized conditions of alcohol-to-oil molar ratio (6:1), catalyst (1.5% w/w), and reaction time 1 h afforded biodiesel with 93.5% yield. The most considerable contribution came from the molar ratio of alcohol to oil (75.9%) followed by the amount of catalyst (20.7%). In another case, alcohol to oil molar ratio (9:1), catalyst (1.5% w/w) and reaction time 1.5 h afforded biodiesel 82.5% yield. The fuel properties of Tamarindus indica methyl esters produced under ideal conditions were within ASTM D6751 biodiesel specified limits. Findings of the study indicate that Tamarindus indica may be chosen as a prospective and viable option for large-scale production of biodiesel, making it a substitute for petro-diesel.  相似文献

Garcinia picrorhiza, a woody plant native to Sulawesi and Maluku Islands, Indonesia, has been traditionally used as a wound healing ointment. In our continuous search for bioactive compounds from this plant, 15 phenolic compounds were isolated from its stem bark, including a previously undescribed dihydroisocoumarin, 2′-hydroxyannulatomarin, and two undescribed furanoxanthones, gerontoxanthone C hydrate and 3′-hydroxycalothorexanthone. The structures of the new metabolites were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, including 1D and 2D NMR and HRESIMS. Gerontoxanthone C hydrate possessed cytotoxicity against four cancer cells (KB, HeLa S3, MCF-7, and Hep G2) with IC50 values ranging from 5.6 to 7.5 µM. Investigation on the anti-inflammatory activities showed that 3′-hydroxycalothorexanthone inhibited NO production in RAW 264.7 and BV-2 cell lines with IC50 values of 16.4 and 13.8 µM, respectively, whereas only (−)-annulatomarin possessed inhibition activity on COX-2 enzyme over 10% at 20 µM. This work describes the presence of 3,4-dihydroisocoumarin structures with a phenyl ring substituent at C-3, which are reported the first time in genus Garcinia. These findings also suggest the potential of furanxanthone derivatives as cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory agents for further pharmacological studies.  相似文献

This paper investigates bits transition shift written by a trapezoid single pole at a large skew angle. This work uses the even harmonic ripple effect to modulate the demagnetization field and observe the transition shape clearly. Experiment results indicate that the trapezoid single pole can produce a twisted transition at a large skew angle. This phenomenon is mainly due to the low-frequency data overwriting on the media. The twisted transition will limit the recording density in the perpendicular recording. Simulation work was completed to validate our experiment results. It suggests that the structure of single pole should be further improved to solve the twisted transition generated by the trapezoid single pole.  相似文献

The flying dynamics and flying stability of a slider are the key issues at sub-5 nm flying height (FH) under thermal FH control. The resonant frequencies of current sliders are at 100 kHz level. At present linear disk velocities, the disk waviness at sub-mm level and 10 micron level can excite the resonant modes of the slider and induce FH modulation. This work uses the triple-harmonic method to monitor the dynamic FH signal during the process of thermal FH control. As the FH reduces, the same disk waviness characteristics excite larger dynamic FH modulation.  相似文献
