Collagen-containing tubular giant vesicles (Col–tGVs) under a high static magnetic field were found to constitute characteristic curved structures (e.g. circular, 8-figure, and hairpin-loop), which were sustained by polymerization of collagen units inside the tGV. We ascribed the formation of these structures to the elasticity of the tGV and to the competing diamagnetic anisotropies between collagen and the tGV. Summary Pyridinium ylide complexes of methylcobaloxime were synthesized by the treatment of an ylide with Co(Hdmg)2 Me(SMe2). The crystal structure of one of the complexes, [Co(Hdmg)2Me C5H5NCHCOPh]C6H6 has been determined by x-ray diffraction techniques. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/c, witha = 10.456(5),b = 11.079(4),c = 24.58(1) Å, = 99.58(6), V = 2808 Å3, Z = 4. The Co-C (ylide) bond distance is 2.18 Å and Co-C(methyl) 2.04 Å. C(ylide)-Co-C(methyl) bond angle is 174.9°. The crystal, i.r. and1H n.m.r. data suggest that thetrans-influence of the ylide ligands is larger than that of py, Melm, OH2 or PPh3. 相似文献

To examine the reason for the formation and the structure of cubic ice in a restricted space, we measured the powder x-ray diffraction patterns of cubic ice formed within the mesopores of porous silicas as a function of pore size (4-70 nm). The results strongly suggest that cubic ice formed in the mesopores does not take a cubic structure as envisaged by Konig. It may be actually composed of very small crystallites of hexagonal ice that contains a large amount of growth faults depending on the crystallite size, that is, ice with disordered stacking sequence. Suppression of crystal growth of ice in the mesopores seems to be a vital factor for the formation and the stability of cubic ice. 相似文献

Linear viscoelasticity behavior is described with the sum of two terms for polystyrene solutions in tricresyl phosphate around the coil overlapping concentration (K. Osaki, T. Inoue, & T. Uematsu, J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 2001, 39, 211). One is a Rouse–Zimm (RZ) term represented by the Zimm theory with arbitrarily chosen values of the hydrodynamic interaction parameter and the longest relaxation time (τRZ). The other (the L term) consists of a relaxation mode with a single relaxation time (τL > τRZ) and a high‐frequency limiting modulus proportional to the square of the concentration. In this study, we describe the viscosity (η) and first normal stress coefficient (Ψ1) in steady shear with simple formulas. The stress due to the L term is assumed to be given by a Kaye, Bernstein, Kearsley, and Zapas (K‐BKZ) equation with the damping function h(γ) = (1 + 0.2γ2)?1/2, where γ is the magnitude of shear. Contributions to η and Ψ1 from the RZ term are derived from the RZ model, in which the relaxation time in steady flow is given by τst = τ + (τRZ ? τ)/(1 + 0.35τRZ γ˙) instead of τRZ. Here, γ˙ is the rate of shear, and τ is the τRZ value at the infinite dilution limit. η and Ψ1 at various concentrations for two polystyrene samples (with molecular weights of 2890 and 8420 kg mol?1) are well described with parameters derived from dynamic viscoelasticity. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary. Fluoranthene (FA) forms a 1:1 van der Waals complex with benzene in cyclohexane. The 1H NMR spectrum of this complex shows that the FA moiety in the complex state has five kinds of hydrogen atoms and that the 1H NMR peaks assigned to the protons attached to the naphthalene skeleton are largely shifted to higher magnetic field on complex formation with benzene. These observations indicate that the complex takes the structure of CS symmetry, in which the benzene molecule mainly interacts with the electronic system localized on the naphthalene moiety of FA. The present ab initio calculations reproduce well the 1H NMR spectral shifts mentioned above and the experimentally predicted CS structure of the complex. According to the PPP calculations for the electronic absorption spectral changes on the complex formation, the FA-benzene complex is considered to take a sandwich type structure. 相似文献
