The micellization behavior of an anionic gemini surfactant, GA with nonionic surfactants C12E8 and C12E5 in presence of 0.1 M NaCl at 298 K temperature, has been studied tensiometrically in pure and mixed states, and the related physicochemical parameters (cmc, γ cmc, pC 20, Γ max, and A min) have been evaluated. Tensiometric profile (γ vs log [surfactant]), for conventional surfactants, generally consists of a single point of intersection; a gradually decreasing line (normally linear, or with slight curvature) ultimately saturates in γ at a particular [surfactant], corresponding to complete monolayer saturation. The gemini, in this report, led to two unequivocal breaks in the tensiometric isotherm. An attempt to the interpretation of the two breaks from molecular point of view is provided, depending solely on the chemical structure of the surfactant. The gemini, even in mixed state with the conventional nonionic surfactants C12E5 and C12E8, manifested the dual breaks; of course, the dominance of the feature decreases with increasing mole fraction of the nonionics in the mixture. Theories of Clint, Rosen, Rubingh, Motomura, Georgiev, Maeda, and Nagarajan have been used to determine the interaction between surfactants at the interface and micellar state of aggregation, the composition of the aggregates, the theoretical cmc in pure and mixed states, and the structural parameters according to Tanford and Israelachvili. Several thermodynamic parameters have also been predicted from those theories.  相似文献

A simple synthesis of chiral spironucleosides and spirobisnucleosides is described. Intramolecular 1,3-dipolar nitrone cycloaddition reaction of d-glucose-derived precursors having olefin at C-3 and nitrone at C-5, C-1, or C-2 (in nor-series) furnished bisisoxazolidinospirocycles 4-7, 11, and 12 in good yields. Reductive ring opening of the isoxazolidine moieties in 4-6 followed by construction of a nucleoside base upon the generated amino groups smoothly yielded spirobisnucleosides 17 and 18 and spironucleosides 20 and 21.  相似文献

Abstract

A green and efficient methodology has been developed for the direct conversion of aryl aldehydes to the corresponding tert-butyl peresters. The reaction has been carried out in absence of any solvent and the sunlight is used as the green source of energy. In this reaction tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) acts as the mild organo catalyst and tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) serve as the source of tert-butyl group.  相似文献

A simple and efficient way of obtaining silver nanoparticles that are dispersible both in organic and in aqueous solvents using a single capping agent is described. The silver nanoparticles are initially prepared in water in the presence of aerosol OT [sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)-sulfosuccinate, AOT]. Thereafter, transfer of the AOT-capped silver nanoparticles to an organic phase is induced by the addition of a small amount of orthophosphoric acid during shaking of the biphasic mixture. The AOT-stabilized silver nanoparticles could be separated out from the organic phase in the form of a powder. The hydrophobic nanoparticles thus prepared are stable and are readily resuspended in a variety of other polar (including water) and nonpolar solvents without further surface treatment. The amphiphatic nature of the silver surface is brought about by a small orientational change in the AOT monolayer on the silver surface in response to the polarity of the solvent.  相似文献

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the strain rate sensitivity of Dual Phase steel 1200 (DP1200) and Dual Phase steel 1400 (DP1400) under uni-axial tensile loads in the strain rate range from 0.001?s?1 to 600?s?1. These materials are advanced high strength steels (AHSS) having high strength, high capacity to dissipate crash energy and high formability. Flat sheet specimens of the materials having gauge length 10?mm, width 4?mm and thickness 2?mm (DP1200) and 1.25?mm (DP1400), are tested at room temperature (20°C) on electromechanical universal testing machine to obtain their stress-strain relation under quasi-static condition (0.001?s?1), and on Hydro-Pneumatic machine and modified Hopkinson bar to study their mechanical behavior at medium (3?s?1, and 18?s?1) and high strain rates (200?s?1, 400?s?1, and 600?s?1) respectively. Tests under quasi-static condition are performed at high temperature (200°C) also, and found that tensile flow stress is a increasing function of temperature. The stress-strain data has been analysed to determine the material parameters of the Cowper-Symonds and the Johnson-Cook models. A simple modification of the Johnson-Cook model has been proposed in order to obtain a better fit of tests at high temperatures. Finally, the fractographs of the broken specimens are taken by scanning electron microscope (SEM) to understand the fracture mechanism of these advanced high strength steels at different strain rates.  相似文献

We start from microscopic approach to many body physics and show the analytical steps and approximations required to arrive at the concept of quantum capacitance. These approximations are valid only in the semi-classical limit and the quantum capacitance in that case is determined by Lindhard function. The effective capacitance is the geometrical capacitance and the quantum capacitance in series, and this too is established starting from a microscopic theory.  相似文献

Water blown rigid polyurethane foams (PUF) with organoclay/organically modified nanoclay (ONC) were prepared and their properties such as density, mechanical, morphological, insulation, thermal and flame retardant properties were studied. In this investigation, the ONC content was varied from 1 to 10 parts per hundred of polyol (php) by weight. It was observed that the compressive strength of ONC filled PUF increased up to 3 php of ONC loading and then it decreased. Wide angle X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy studies indicated the exfoliated dispersion of ONC in PUF. The thermal conductivity of ONC filled PUF decreases up to 5 php and then increases. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of PUF decreases on loading of ONC. The TGA analysis shows that there is slight increase in degradation temperature with increase in ONC loading. The flame retardant properties (LOI and flame spread rate) are improved slightly on addition (3 php) of ONC filled PUF.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles have been prepared in a polyacrylamide (PA) matrix, as well as in the presence of a hyperbranched polyamine/polyacrylamide combined system (HB‐PA) by using a reductive technique. The stability of colloidal solution of silver nanoparticles is higher (5 months) in combined matrix compared to PA alone (4 months). The prepared silver nanoparticles were characterized by different spectroscopic and analytical techniques such as FTIR, UV‐visible, X‐ray diffraction, TEM etc. TEM and XRD studies confirmed the formation of well‐dispersed nanoparticles with an average size of 9.91 nm and 8.5 nm for PA and HB‐PA matrices, respectively. The antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles in both the matrices was tested against Bacillus Subtilis bacteria by using the diffusion disc technique. The result shows that the antibacterial activity of the active agent, Ag(0) is a little higher in the case of HB‐PA system. The dielectric constant of the matrices decreases with an increase in frequency, but the values increase with an increase of concentration of silver nanoparticles in PA matrix.  相似文献
