The encapsulation of the nanocrystalline manganese‐doped zinc sulfide (ZnS:Mn) in poly(styrene‐b‐2vinylpyridine) (PS‐PVP) diblock copolymers is reported. Below the critical micelle concentration in the absence of nanocrystals (NCs), inverse micelles of PS‐PVP were induced by adding ZnS:Mn NCs, the presence of which was confirmed by scanning force microscope and dynamic light scattering. In toluene, a PS‐selective solvent, the less‐soluble PVP blocks preferentially surround the ligand‐coated ZnS:Mn NCs. For PS‐PVP encapsulated ZnS:Mn NCs, the ratio of blue emission to orange emission of ZnS:Mn NCs is dependent on both the concentration of PS‐PVP and the solvent quality. The pyridine of PVP blocks form complexes with the Zn atoms via the nitrogen lone pair and thus the sulfur vacancies are passivated. As a result, the defect‐related blue emission is selectively quenched even when the micelles are not formed. As the concentration of PS‐PVP encapsulating the ZnS:Mn NCs increases, the intensity of blue emission decreases. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A simple batch method for the fluorometric determination of hydrogen peroxide using phosphine-based fluorescent reagents has been developed. A rapid, mild and selective derivatization reaction was achieved by adding sodium tungstate dihydrate to the reaction mixture of hydrogen peroxide and a phosphine-based fluorescent reagent. When 4-diphenylphosphino-7-methylthio-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole was used as a reagent, the derivatization reaction was completed after 2 min at room temperature. The calibration curve was linear between 12.5 and 500 ng hydrogen peroxide in a 10 microL sample solution. This method is accurate and has potential for on-line applications.  相似文献

Electrical conduction among metallocycles has been unexplored because of the difficulty in creating electronic transport pathways. In this work, we present an electrocrystallization strategy for synthesizing an intrinsically electron-conductive metallocycle, [Ni6(NDI-Hpz)6(dma)12(NO3)6]·5DMA·nH2O (PMC-hexagon) (NDI-Hpz = N,N′-di(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxdiimide). The hexagonal metallocycle units are assembled into a densely packed ABCABC… sequence (like the fcc geometry) to construct one-dimensional (1D) helical π-stacked columns and 1D pore channels, which were maintained under the liberation of H2O molecules. The NDI cores were partially reduced to form radicals as charge carriers, resulting in a room-temperature conductivity of (1.2–2.1) × 10−4 S cm−1 (pressed pellet), which is superior to that of most NDI-based conductors including metal–organic frameworks and organic crystals. These findings open up the use of metallocycles as building blocks for fabricating conductive porous molecular materials.

Both dispersion curves and wave structures, which are displacement distributions on a bar cross-section, are essential for guided wave NDEs. Theoretical dispersion curves and wave structures for a bar with an arbitrary cross-section are derived in this paper using a special modeling technique called the semi-analytical finite element method (SAFEM). The guidelines for guided wave NDEs of bar-like structures are also shown based on wave structure and modal analysis. First, the relationship between the dispersion curves and their corresponding wave structures were obtained for a square rod. Modes with longitudinal vibration have higher group velocities and torsional modes have constant phase and group velocities. Next, the relationship between the dispersion curves and wave structures for a rail are detailed. The rail is used to represent a bar with a complex cross-section. Similar to the square rod results, the rail's longitudinal modes have higher group velocities. However, the rail contains modes with local vibration. Finally, single mode detection and excitation techniques are introduced. A single mode can be obtained by detecting and exciting with a weighted function that corresponds to a specific mode's wave structure.  相似文献

A nonlinear optical crystal YCa(4)O(BO(3))(3) (YCOB) is phase matchable for third-harmonic generation (THG) of a Nd:YAG laser by type I mixing between 1.064 and 0.532mum . By partial substitution of Gd for Y in YCOB, a solid solution Gd(x)Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) gradually changes the phase-matching angles of THG to (theta, ?)=(90( degrees ), 90 ( degrees )) . We present the properties of noncritically phase-matched THG in Gd(x) Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) (x=0.28) .  相似文献

In order to solve the issues in Si nanoelectronics such as fluctuation in the device functions and poor reliability of devices due to relative increase in mass transport in nm size structures and to yield novel functions by rather taking advantage of the nm size, we need to understand the phenomena peculiar to nm size structures. Based on the fact that a practical method to fabricate nm structures in terms of throughput, process time, and cost is to combine modification of solid surfaces with energetic particles (especially with single ions) and subsequent chemical processing in solutions, we describe single ion irradiation effects as a tool to modify solid surfaces in nm scale, a method for nm scale in-situ observation of solid surfaces, and some examples of the acquired knowledge.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to assess the effect of comprehensive exercise program widely accepted as a community-based physical intervention for the prevention of falling in the elderly persons on their controlling standing balance. Twenty-six community-dwelling elderly persons (13 males and females; 69.8 ± 2.8 years old) participated in this study. Daily exercise was comprised of walking for more than 30 min, stretching, muscle strengthening and balance exercise without exercise equipments. The intervention was continued for three months. Indicators of standing balance related to static balance, dynamic balance and postural response were measured before and after the intervention. As an effect of the intervention on static balance, the sway of center of pressure (COP) in the static stance significantly increased. In the dynamic balance, significant improvements were observed in one leg standing time, the 10-m gait time, functional reach. Additionally, the maximal movable length of COP which subjects can move voluntarily to right and left significantly increased. In the postural response, the integrated electromyography (IEMG) induced by postural response for sudden postural perturbation significantly decreased in the lower leg muscles. Since less muscular activities were sufficient to maintain posture, it was suggested that postural response was elicited more efficiently following the intervention. This study suggested that the comprehensive exercise program, which has been widely introduced as community-based interventions for the prevention of falling, have extensive effects on the control of standing balance covering static balance, dynamic balance and postural response in the elderly persons.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to demonstrate a generalized equation for describing the magnetization in spoiled gradient-echo (SPGR) imaging in which the in-pulse relaxation and magnetization transfer (MT) effects are taken into account. First, the time-dependent Bloch equations for the two-pool exchange model with MT effect were reduced to an inhomogeneous linear differential equation, and then a simple equation was derived to solve it using a matrix operation. Second, the equations describing the magnetization before and after the radiofrequency (RF) pulse were derived based on the above solution for the RF-pulse excitation and evolution phases. Finally, a generalized equation describing the steady-state magnetization was derived. The validity of this equation was investigated by comparing with the transverse magnetization obtained by the regular Ernst equation and analytical solution in which the in-pulse transverse relaxation is considered. When the same assumption was made in our method, there were good agreements between them, indicating the validity of our method. The in-pulse transverse and longitudinal relaxations decreased the transverse magnetization compared to the case in which these effects were neglected, whereas MT increased it. In conclusion, we derived a generalized equation for describing the magnetization in SPGR imaging. This equation will provide a suitable basis for understanding the signal intensity in SPGR imaging and/or T1 measurement using an SPGR sequence in cases in which the effect of in-pulse relaxation and/or MT cannot be neglected.  相似文献
