The need for a highly efficient numerical simulation platform for designing photonic band gap (PBG) structures is outlined
in the context of various functional device topologies. In this paper we therefore introduce the Method of Auxiliary Sources
(MAS) as a semi-analytical, frequency-domain method for computational optics, which has already proven its accuracy and efficiency
in various other fields of electrodynamics. The proposed software package provides an easy-to-handle approach to full-wave
analysis of two-dimensional (2D) PBG circuits, PBG-based antennas as well as to dense-integrated optics components that contain
optical waveguides, scatterers, resonators and other functional elements. Experimental verifications of the numerical results
have been conducted along large-scale prototypes in the microwave frequency range for several device topologies. 相似文献

Three new oleanane-type saponins, giganteosides L (1), M (2) and N (3) along with eight known ones were isolated from the roots of Cephalaria gigantea. Their structures were established as 3-O-[beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-28-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-oleanolic acid, 3-O-[beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-28-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-hederagenin, 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-28-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->6)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-hederagenin, respectively, by means of spectroscopic methods (1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS). Cytotoxic activity of monodesmosides was investigated in vitro using three cancer cell lines, namely, human non pigmented melanoma MEL-5 and human leukemia HL-60. Giganteosides D (4) and E (5) showed antiproliferative effect on human cell lines with IC(50) values in the range 3.15-7.5 microM. 相似文献

The present study examined the cytotoxic effect of increasing Cr(VI) concentrations on cultured cells by a combination of biochemical methods and DSC, a novel use of DSC in the study of cell death. The characteristics of apoptotic cells are compared with normal cells. Chromatin in human epithelial-like L-41 cells has two thermal transitions at 100 and 105 °C. The heat from these endotherms is 90.5 ± 11.0 J/g DNA. The total heat of denaturation (Qd) is 27.5 ± 3.5 J/g dry biomass. The heat evolved (−Q) is 15.6 ± 3.0 J/g dry biomass. The treatment of cells with 20 μM Cr(VI) for 2 and 4 h has not revealed any changes in heat of denaturation and heat evolution (−Q). However increased treatment time with Cr(VI) at 20 μM resulted in significant changes to the thermal profile and a sharp linear decrease of (−Q) and Qd values. The Qd and (−Q) values of cells treated with 20 μM Cr(VI) for 48 h are equal to 15.5 ± 2.0 and 2.1 ± 0.4 J/g dry biomass, respectively. The changes in chromatin conformation, Bax expression and the collapse of the mitochondrial membrane permeability coincide with the time point from which the action of chromium is irreversible. 相似文献
