The relation between magnetic geometry and the level of ion-temperature-gradient (ITG) driven turbulence in stellarators is explored through gyrokinetic theory and direct linear and nonlinear simulations. It is found that the ITG radial heat flux is sensitive to details of the magnetic configuration that can be understood in terms of the linear behavior of zonal flows. The results throw light on the question of how the optimization of neoclassical confinement is related to the reduction of turbulence.  相似文献

A miniature Clark-type oxygen electrode was fabricated using semiconductor techniques. A two-electrode configuration was used and the effect of different anode materials on the characteristics of the oxygen electrode was examined. The cathode and anode were formed in anisotropically etched grooves and calcium alginate gel containing 0.1 M KCl electrolyte filled the grooves. A gas-permeable membrane was directly formed over the gel. By using an Ag/AgCl anode instead of a gold electrode, the response time was shortened, the residual current was decreased and the linearity of the calibration graph was improved. Good linear calibration graphs were obtained by using the Ag/AgCl anode. The Ag/AgCl anode oxygen electrode produced a stable current for 5 h at ?0.8 V and for 22 h at ?0.6 V.  相似文献

A theory for describing collisionless long-time behavior of zonal flows in helical systems is presented and its validity is verified by gyrokinetic-Vlasov simulation. It is shown that, under the influence of particles trapped in helical ripples, the response of zonal flows to a given source becomes weaker for lower radial wave numbers and deeper helical ripples while a high-level zonal-flow response, which is not affected by helical-ripple-trapped particles, can be maintained for a longer time by reducing their bounce-averaged radial drift velocity. This implies a possibility that helical configurations optimized for reducing neoclassical ripple transport can simultaneously enhance zonal flows which lower anomalous transport.  相似文献

Sol paint that yields yttrium-based compounds was prepared by mixing four chemical ingredients, yttrium acetate tetrahydrate precursor, diethanolamine, isopropyl alcohol, and hydrochloric acid, and then applied as oxidation/corrosion resistant coatings for Inconel 625 substrates. Annealing the coatings at 500°C developed a coalescent microstructure of coarse particles consisting of amorphous yttrium carbonate as the major component and crystalline yttrium oxide (Y2O3) as the minor one. At 700°C, the yttrium carbonate was transformed into Y2O3 by decarbonation. Increasing the annealing temperature to 900°C led to the formation of the YCrO3 phase yielded by interaction between Y2O3 and the Cr2O3 which had arisen from the oxidation of the underlying Inconel; the YCrO3 phase created a particle coating with a densified microstructure. There were two key factors in mitigating the degree of oxidation of Inconel at 900°C in air: (1) an uptake of oxygen by Y2O3 in the coatings, and (2) a densified coating layer that suppresses the diffusion and permeation of oxygen through it. Furthermore, inhibiting the rate of NaCl-caused corrosion was not only due to the excellent coverage of particle coatings over the entire surfaces of the substrates, but also may be associated with a good adherence of the coatings to the substrates.  相似文献

Gyrokinetic Vlasov simulations of the ion temperature gradient turbulence are performed in order to investigate effects of helical magnetic configurations on turbulent transport and zonal flows. The obtained results confirm the theoretical prediction that helical configurations optimized for reducing neoclassical ripple transport can simultaneously reduce the turbulent transport with enhancing zonal-flow generation. Stationary zonal-flow structures accompanied with transport reduction are clearly identified by the simulation for the neoclassically optimized helical geometry. The generation of the stationary zonal flow explains a physical mechanism for causing the confinement improvement observed in the inward-shifted plasma in the Large Helical Device [O. Motojima, Nucl. Fusion 43, 1674 (2003)].  相似文献

Sugar-sensitive thin films were prepared by a layer-by-layer deposition of concanavalin A (Con A) and glycogen on the surface of a quartz slide and their sugar-induced decomposition was studied. The Con A/glycogen multilayer films can be decomposed by exposing them to sugar solutions (D-glucose, D-mannose, methyl-alpha-D-glucose and methyl-alpha-D-mannose), as a result of displacement of sugar residues of glycogen from the binding sites of Con A by the free sugar added in the solution. The rate of decomposition significantly depended on the type of sugar and its concentration.  相似文献
