In order to deliver reliable results for a multitude of different scenarios, e.g. emergency preparedness, environmental monitoring, nuclear decommissioning and waste management, there is a constant process of method development in the field of radioanalytical chemistry. This work presents the results of a method comparison exercise aimed at quantifying 90Sr and 239,240Pu in environmental soil samples, with the intention of evaluating the performance and applicability of different methods. From the methods examined in this work, recommendations are given in order to find a radioanalytical measurement procedure, for 90Sr and 239,240Pu analysis, which is fit-for-purpose for a particular scenario.
[reaction: see text] Terminal acetylenes containing hydroxy and carboxylic acid groups were subjected to Sonogashira coupling with 4-bromo-2,6-bis[(R)-4-phenyloxazolin-2-yl]pyridine and the resulting pybox derivatives were immobilized on Tentagel resins. Ytterbium(III) chloride complexes of the polymeric ligands catalyzed the addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide to benzaldehyde with 80-81% ee. The ligands were reused more than 30 times without any loss in selectivity or activity, and the metal complexes could be recovered and reused at least four times, although with slightly decreasing activity. 相似文献
Three-dimensional (3D) chemical information was obtained by means of a combination of two-dimensional attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FT-IR) imaging with a focal plane array detector and variable angle depth profiling. Since the penetration depth of the evanescent wave in ATR spectroscopy is not limited by diffraction, it was possible to resolve thin sandwiched polymer layers nondestructively within a stack of polymer layers. Chemical images were obtained from layers of different thickness of the laminate by moving a custom-made aperture to specific positions on the condenser lens of the ATR accessory. Sequences of absorption images detect the successive appearance of thin, buried layers of polybutylmethacrylate (d(PBMA) = 400 nm) and polycarbonate (d(TMPC) = 300 nm) in different depths of the stack of polymer layers. The depth resolution of variable-angle ATR-FT-IR imaging is sufficiently high to detect surface roughness at the interface between different polymer layers. Two different stacks of polymers with reordered sandwich-layers were imaged simultaneously, demonstrating the potential of variable angle ATR-FT-IR for 3D-imaging of a sample with xyz-heterogeneity, which can be a powerful analytical technique for materials science and biomedical research. 相似文献
Enthalpies of protonation in aqueous solution have been determined from calorimetric measurements between 0 and 100°C for methylpentylamine, butyldimethylamine, and quinuclidine; between 0 and 125°C for di-iso-propylamine; and between 0 and 75°C for 1-azacycloheptane. Values ofpKa at 25°C have been determined from pH measurements using a glass electrode for di-iso-propyl-, methylpentyl-, and butyldimethylamine. The calorimetric results are used together with values ofpKa at 25°C to derive expressions which allow the calculation of accuratepKa values over a large temperature range. The heat capacity and entropy changes for the protonation of aqueous alkylamines found in the present and in previous studies are discussed in terms of differences in hydrophobic solvation of the alkyl groups in the neutral amines and the ions. 相似文献
Dual activation by a chiral Lewis acid and an achiral or chiral Lewis base enabled cyanation of both aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes with acetyl cyanide and ethyl cyanoformate to provide direct access to O-acetylated and O-alkoxycarbonylated cyanohydrins, respectively, under mild conditions. With a combination of a Ti-salen catalyst and Et3N, benzaldehyde was converted to the O-acetylated cyanohydrin with 94% ee within 10 h at -40 degrees C in 89% isolated yield. 相似文献

Methods to probe the molecular structure of living cells are of paramount importance in understanding drug interactions and environmental influences in these complex dynamical systems. The coupling of an acoustic levitation device with a micro-Raman spectrometer provides a direct molecular probe of cellular chemistry in a containerless environment minimizing signal attenuation and eliminating the affects of adhesion to walls and interfaces. We show that the Raman acoustic levitation spectroscopic (RALS) approach can be used to monitor the heme dynamics of a levitated 5 microL suspension of red blood cells and to detect hemozoin in malaria infected cells. The spectra obtained have an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and demonstrate for the first time the utility of the technique as a diagnostic and monitoring tool for minute sample volumes of living animal cells. 相似文献
