We have prepared new polyesters containing quadratic, nonlinear optical (NLO) active chromophores covalently incorporated into the main chain. In these polymers, the sequence of the chromophore units along the main chain is rigorously head to tail. All the polyesters are processable, both in the melt and in solution. For one polyester, a full second‐order NLO characterization has been performed. An out‐of‐resonance d33 coefficient of 21 pm/V at 1368 nm has been measured. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The preparation and characterization of a new trypsin-based bioreactor is here described for on-line protein digestion and peptide analysis. Trypsin was immobilized on an epoxy-modified silica monolithic support with a single reaction step and the amount of immobilized enzyme was found to be 66.07 mg (+/-11.75 S.D.)/column (n = 6). The bioreactor was coupled through a switching valve to an analytical column for the on-line digestion, peptide separation and identification of test proteins by ESI-MS-MS. The influence of various parameters (flow rate, temperature, buffer pH and molarity, etc.) on enzymatic activity was investigated by an experimental design and the mostly significant factor was found to be the flow rate. The efficacy of the reported on-line bioreactor for tryptic mapping is reported for somatostatin and myoglobin, selected as model compounds. Tryptic peptide maps obtained by on-line digestion of myoglobin were compared to those obtained by traditional off-line digestion. Sequence coverage obtained with the on-line protocol (21 peptides, 75.16% coverage of myoglobin sequence) was found to be comparable to the one obtained with the off-line protocol (18 peptides, 76.47% coverage). Sensitivity for myoglobin digestion and identification was 0.1 mg/ml. The reproducibily of the peptide maps in terms of retention time was from 1.53 to 4.31%, R.S.D. 相似文献

Microcystis is one of the most common bloom-forming cyanobacteria genera in diverse ecosystems. More than 80% of its strains are toxic, mainly due to their ability to produce metabolites known as microcystins (MC). Here we report on a M. aeruginosa bloom that appeared in the summer of 2001 at a site of the Río de la Plata, within the city of Buenos Aires. The symptoms in mice indicated that the bloom was hepatotoxic. LC-PDA analysis revealed a similar high concentration (0.9–1?mg?g–1?d w) of just one MC in the bloom biomass during the 3-month study period. During this period most of the MC (ca. 98 %) was found intracellularly, and the content remained almost the same. The molecular mass of the bloom MC was 1036?Da, as deduced from LC-ESI-MS data. Fragment ion analysis by LC-IT-MS-MS allowed identifying 6 out of the 7 amino acids, as well as their position in the molecule. The molecular mass of the unidentified amino acid residue was 155?Da. According to the data obtained, the MC under study was MC-XR, X representing the unidentified amino acid. This is the first report both on the characterisation of MCs in an urban site of the Río de la Plata waters, and on an Argentinean bloom exhibiting only one MC variant. 相似文献

Both theoretical and experimental works give evidence that
gallium exhibits solid phases labelled , , , besides the
stable phase strongly dependent both on the size and the
confinement conditions. An experimental technique was used based
on capacitance and conductance measurements
vs. temperature in the
audiofrequency range. This technique is particularly sensitive
to the conditions of the investigated particle surface that
plays a fundamental role in the melting and more generally in
the phase transition processes. In particular the strict
relation between the derivative of the capacitance with respect
to the temperature, dC/dT, and the entropy of the system is
considered. In gallium nanoparticles 20 nm in radius, only the
phase is shown to occur. Further the transition to liquid phase
was detected. The melting process was found to start about 65 K
below the full melting temperature value. In the case of
particles 10 nm in radius, where different metastable phases may
occur, the capacitance vs.
temperature curve was found to display abrupt changes of the
slope. The singularities are associated to a well defined

At high temperatures the conductivity plot of silver halides shows a pronounced upward curvature to higher conductivity values. This curvature has been attributed to an excessive decrease of the Gibbs formation energy gf per Frenkel defect. Such a decrease is known to arise from Lidiard-Debye-Huckel interactions and expansivity. However a quantitative evaluation for AgCl and AgBr has shown that the said effect is not sufficient to explain the experimental data. The present paper proposes a further reason for the excessive decrease of gf; it is due to an excessive fall of the bulk modulus B at temperatures near the melting point. For AgCl a fall by approx. 10% would give the needed decrease of gf. 相似文献

We construct a self-adjoint time operator for massless relativistic systems in terms of the generators of the Poincaré group. The Lie algebra generated by the time operator and the generators of the Poincaré group turns out to be an infinitedimensional extension of the Poincaré algebra. The internal time operator generates two new entities, namely the velocity operator and the internal position operator. The transformation properties of the internal time and position operator under Lorentz boosts are different from what one would expect from relativity theory. This difference reflects the fact that the time concept associated with the internal time operator is radically different from the time coordinate of Minkowski space, due to the nonlocality of the time operator. The spectral projections of the time operator allow us to construct incoming subspaces for the wave equation without invoking Huygens' principle, as in two and one spatial dimensions where Huygens' principle does not hold. 相似文献

A dissipative model of helium II was built up in previous works, using a 13-field extended thermodynamic theory formulated by Liu and Müller. In this work a generalization of such model is presented, where an extended thermodynamics with 14 fields due to Kremer is used. It is shown that the fourteenth field is able to account for the experimental data concerning the second sound attenuation. Further, the proposed theory is able to explain the Osborne experiment. Finally, a comparison with the two-fluid model is performed, emphasizing the different ways in which the dissipative phenomena are explained by the two theories. 相似文献
