Acetals of lactams and acid amides. 53. Eamidines in the synthesis of pyridine and pyrimidine

The reaction of -cyano--aminocrotonic ester with DMFA diethylacetal gives 1-ethoxycarbonyl-1-cyano-2-(N-dimethylaminomethylene)-amino-4-dimethylaminobutadiene, the reaction of which with ammonium acetate and amines leads to 4-methylenepyrimidine derivatives. Condensation of -cyano--aminocrotonic ester with dimethylacetamide dieethylacetal gave 2-(ethoxycarbonylcyano)methylene-4-dimethylamino-6-methylpyridine. It was found that in an alkaline medium, 1-benzyl-4-(ethoxycarbonylcyano) methylenepyrimidine recyclizes into 1-benzyl-3-cyano-4-amino-2-pyridone.For Communication 52, see [1].Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 8, pp. 1109–1114, August, 1988.

Liquid-phase hydroformylation of 2,3- and 2,5-dihydrofurans

The synthesis of 3-formyl derivatives of the tetrahydrofuran series was carried out by hydroformylation of 2,3-dihydrofuran and 2,5-dimethoxy-2,5-dihydrofuran in the presence of HRh(CO)(PPh₃)₃. Synthesis and catalytic activity of uranium(IV) tetraphenylporphinate chloride

Phthalocyanines and Related Compounds: XL. Synthesis of β-Diethylaminoethyl-substituted Octa-4,5-carboxyphthalocyanine Tetraimides and Their Quaternary Salts

Cobalt, zinc, hydroxoaluminum, and iron complexes of N,N′,N″,N?-tetrakis(β-diethylaminoethyl) phthalocyanine-2,3 : 9,10 : 16,17 : 23,24-tetrakis(dicarboxamide) were synthesized and were converted into the corresponding water-soluble quaternary salts by treatment with methyl iodide, methyl p-toluenesulfonate, diethyl and dimethyl sulfates, and trimethyl phosphate. The electronic absorption spectra of the quaternary salts indicated their considerable aggregation in aqueous solution; the degree of aggregation decreases in going to solutions in ethanol and disappears in DMSO.     

Composition of Laprol-373 and Products of Its Reaction with 2,4-Toluylene Diisocyanate

The composition of oligoethers that are components of Laprol-373 and of products of their reaction with 2,4-toluylene diisocyanate were studied by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF).     

Hetero analogs of alloxazines. 2. Structure and tautomerism of 6,8-dimethyl-7,9-dioxo-5h-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrimido[4,5-b][4′,5′-e][1,4]thiazines

It is demonstrated by ¹³C NMR spectroscopy that the dipyrimidothiazines that are formed in the reaction of 1,3-dimethyl-5-nitro-6-chlorouracil with 4-R-5-amino-6-mercaptopyrimidines are dipyrimido[4,5-b][4,5-e] [1,4]thiazines. A Convenient Method for the Preparation of Linear Furoquinolin-2-ones

Fries rearrangement of 7-acetoxy-4-methylquinolin-2-one and subsequent condensation of the 6-acetyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylquinolin-2-one obtained with -chloro ketones gives a series of furo[3,2-g]quinolin-7-ones.
