We report a resonantly fiber-laser-pumped Er:YAG laser operating at the eye-safe wavelength of 1645 nm, exhibiting 43% optical efficiency and 54% incident slope efficiency and emitting 7-W average power when repetitively Q switched at 10 kHz. To our knowledge, this is the best performance (conversion efficiency and average power) obtained from a bulk solid-state Q-switched erbium laser. At a 1.1-kHz pulse repetition frequency the laser produces 3.4-mJ pulses with a corresponding peak power of 162 kW. Frequency doubling to produce 822.5-nm, 4.7-kW pulses at 10 kHz was performed to demonstrate the laser's utility.  相似文献

It is shown that thin-film field effect transistors (FETs) made from amorphous (a-) silicon deposited by the glow-discharge technique have considerable potential as switching elements in addressable liquid crystal display panels. The fabrication of the elements and their characteristics with steady and pulsed applied potentials are discussed in some detail. Two important points are stressed: (i) a-Si device arrays can be produced by well-established photolithographic techniques, and (ii) satisfactory operation at applied voltages below 15VV is possible. Small experimental 7×5 transistor panels have been investigated and it is shown that with the present design up to 250-way multiplexing could be achieved. The reproducibility of FET characteristics is good and in tests so far no change has been observed after more than 109 switching operations.  相似文献

The concept of model chemistries within hybrid QM/MM calculations has been addressed through analysis of the polarization energy determined by two distinct approaches based on (i) induced charges and (ii) induced dipoles. The quantum mechanical polarization energy for four configurations of the water dimer has been determined for a range of basis sets using Morokuma energy decomposition analysis. This benchmark value has been compared to the fully classical polarization energy determined using the induced dipole approach, and the molecular mechanics polarization energy calculated using induced charges within the MM region of hybrid QM/MM calculations. From the water dimer calculations, it is concluded that the induced charge approach is consistent with medium sized basis set calculations whereas the induced dipole approach is consistent with large basis set calculations. This result is highly relevant to the concept of QM/MM model chemistries.  相似文献

Photolysis of organic solvent soluble aryl azide‐modified gold nanoparticles (N3‐AuNPs) with a core size of 4.6±1.6 nm results in the generation of interfacial reactive nitrene intermediates. The high reactivity of the nitrenes is utilized to tether the AuNP to the native surface of carbon nanotubes, and reduce graphene oxide and micro‐diamond powder, likely via addition to π‐conjugated carbon skeleton or insertion into the functionalities at the surface, to yield the desired hybrid material without the need for pretreatment of the surface. The AuNP‐covalent hybrid materials are robust in that they survive vigorous washing and sonication. In the absence of photolysis no attachment occurs with the same N3‐AuNP. The nanohybrid AuNP‐nanohybrid materials are characterized using a combination of TEM, powder XRD, XPS and UV/Vis and IR spectroscopies. All of the characterization studies confirm the uniform incorporation of the AuNP on the irradiated substrates.  相似文献

The photo- and electroproduction of ? mesons at high energy is examined in a simple Regge-pole model with q2 dependent residues. The behaviour of the differential cross section at t=0 and of its slope, as a function of the q2 and of the photon energy, are correlated, and good fits to the data are obtained.  相似文献
