We report the first measurement of the photo-galvanic circular current antisymmetric tensor component in BaTiO3: Co. The measurement gives a value of this coefficient, for extraordinary beam amplification, of 4×10–9 A/W using a nonstationary measurement technique at a wavelength of 0.632 m.Professor N. Many interfacial studies on solid surfaces, for example, quartz/water, assume that a standard cleaning procedure regenerates the surface reproducibly. In the reported work, the results of two surface specific techniques, sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy, show that the effects of prolonged exposure to Nanopure water and to pH 10 NaOH are distinctly different. In conjunction with the experimental data, molecular mechanics is used to correlate the SFG spectral frequencies to the hydrogen stretching vibrations of the surface-bound water molecules. It is found that after 17 days of soaking in water, water molecules penetrate into the SiO2 matrix to produce a swollen and amorphous layer; it is likely that broken Si-O bonds from the polishing process serve as nucleation sites for hydration and swelling. Disorder introduced in the interfacial water layer is detected by the rising intensity of the weakly hydrogen-bonded SFG peak at 3450 cm(-1). Dominance of the 3450 cm(-1) is absent in a pH 10, NaOH-soaked quartz disk, indicating that the strong hydrogen-bonded network in water remains intact.  相似文献

For each piecewise monotonic map of , we associate a pair of C*-algebras and and calculate their K-groups. The algebra is an AI-algebra. We characterize when and are simple. In those cases, has a unique trace, and is purely infinite with a unique KMS state. In the case that is Markov, these algebras include the Cuntz-Krieger algebras , and the associated AF-algebras . Other examples for which the K-groups are computed include tent maps, quadratic maps, multimodal maps, interval exchange maps, and -transformations. For the case of interval exchange maps and of -transformations, the C*-algebra coincides with the algebras defined by Putnam and Katayama-Matsumoto-Watatani, respectively.

The distance function \({\varrho(p, q) ({\rm or} d(p, q))}\) of a distance space (general metric space) is not differentiable in general. We investigate such distance spaces over \({\mathbb{R}^n}\), whose distance functions are differentiable like in case of Finsler spaces. These spaces have several good properties, yet they are not Finsler spaces (which are special distance spaces). They are situated between general metric spaces (distance spaces) and Finsler spaces. We will investigate such curves of differentiable distance spaces, which possess the same properties as geodesics do in Finsler spaces. So these curves can be considered as forerunners of Finsler geodesics. They are in greater plenitude than Finsler geodesics, but they become geodesics in a Finsler space. We show some properties of these curves, as well as some relations between differentiable distance spaces and Finsler spaces. We arrive to these curves and to our results by using distance spheres, and using no variational calculus. We often apply direct geometric considerations.  相似文献

A significant dose contribution on the population could be derived from coal slags used as isolation material. Extremely high natural activities are measured in the coal slag, derived from the region of the settlement Ajka, Hungary. In some buildings monitored, the elevated -doses were nearly 5–10 times higher than the world average ones. The annual average indoor radon concentrations from the slag exceeded 400 Bq/m3 and in some cases up to 1200 Bq/m3. Due to the elevated exposure and the radon concentrations in the dwellings the annual dose was estimated to 8–24 mSv/y more than 5–10 times of the world average one.  相似文献

We report molecular structures and temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility data for several new metal complexes of heterospin triplet ground-state biradical ligands. The ligands are comprised of both nitronyl-nitroxide (NN) and semiquinone (SQ) spin carriers. Five compounds are five-coordinate M(II) complexes (M = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn), and one is a six-coordinate Ni(II) complex. Five compounds were structurally characterized. During copper complex formation a reaction with methanol occurs to form a unique methoxy-substituted SQ ring. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies are consistent with strong intraligand (NN-SQ and NN-PhSQ) ferromagnetic exchange coupling. For the five-coordinate Mn, Co, and Ni complexes, the S = 1 ligand is antiferromagnetically coupled to the metal. For both the five-coordinate Cu complex and the six-coordinate Ni complex, the ligand is ferromagnetically coupled to the metal spins in accordance with orbital symmetry arguments. Despite the low molecular symmetries, the predicted trend in metal-ligand exchange interactions is supported by spin dimer analysis based on extended Hückel calculations. For (NN-SQ)NiTp(Cum,Me)() (Tp(Cum,Me)() = hydro-tris(3-cumenyl-5-methylpyrazolyl)borate), an antisymmetric exchange term was required for the best fit of the magnetic susceptibility data. Antisymmetric exchange was less important for the other complexes due to inherently smaller Deltag. Finally, it is shown that intraligand exchange coupling is of paramount importance in stabilizing high-spin states of mixed metal-biradical complexes.  相似文献

Hybrid materials with different amounts of organics permanently bound on the inorganic network obtained in the TEOS-MTEOS (tetraethoxysilan-methyltriethoxysilan) system are used for obtaining coatings with different optical and mechanical properties. To study the thermal stability of the mentioned materials, compositions with different molar ratios of the precursors were prepared. The influence of the solvent and water amounts on the gelation process was also investigated. The gels obtained were characterised by IR spectrometry and their decomposition temperatures were determined by DTA/TG. Thermal stability of the gels is rather influenced by their composition than the conditions of the gelation process.
