Exact soliton solutions of spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

We study matter-wave solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates of ultracold gaseous atoms with spin degrees of freedom and present a class of exact solutions based on the inverse scattering method. The one-soliton solutions are classified with respect to the spin states. We analyze collisional effects between solitons in the same or different spin state(s), which reveals a very interesting possibility: we can manipulate the spin dynamics by controlling the parameters of colliding solitons.     

Lasting chemiluminescence of 3-indoleglyoxylyl chloride and its enhancement.

The chemiluminescence (CL) intensities of various indole derivatives substituted with a glyoxylyl group at the 3-position and a hydroxyl group at the 5-position of the indole ring were compared upon the addition of H2O2 in alkaline media. The CL intensities of 3-indoleglyoxylyl chloride, 3-indoleglyoxylic acid, 5-hydroxyindole and 5-benzyloxyindole in CH3CN were 5.9-, 48-, 5.9- and 3.3-fold stronger than that of 3-methylindole. A lasting CL of 3-indoleglyoxylyl chloride was found. Under appropriate conditions, the CL emission reached a maximum within 10 min after the addition of H2O2 in the presence of NaOH, and the intensity was retained for 25 min. One of the final products via the CL reaction of 3-indoleglyoxylyl chloride was indole-3-carboxylic acid. 3-Indoleglyoxylyl chloride emitted light by decompositions via both dioxetane and dioxetanedione. An enhancement effect of beta-cyclodextrin and bovine serum albumin on the CL of 3-indoleglyoxylyl chloride was also found.     

Determination of sultopride and tiapride in serum by gas chromatography using a surface ionisation detector

A sensitive and selective method has been developed for the determination of sultopride and tiapride in serum using gas chromatography with a surface ionisation detector. No interfering peaks from endogenous substances were observed. The method showed good reproducibility and accuracy, and the standard curve was linear up to 2 micrograms/ml with a correlation coefficient of 0.999. This method is applicable to pharmacokinetic studies and therapeutic drug monitoring of sultopride and tiapride.     

Specific radiation and recoil energy effects in recoil implantation reaction of51Cr in metal acetylacetonates

In recoil implantation reaction of⁵¹Cr in Cr/acac/₃ a polymer component which was sensitive to radiation dose was found. However, a retention type component⁵¹Cr/acac/₃ was not so sensitive to radiation dose. A remarkable dependence of the yield of⁵¹Cr/acac/₃ on recoil energy was found in the range 10²–10⁶ eV in recoil implantation using a thin film technique. This suggests a special role of implantation reaction in solids.     

纸张上光油关键物质的成分分析

利用色相色谱／质谱联用技术，傅立叶红外及裂解－气相色谱／质谱联用技术，对印刷用上光油的关键成分进行了分析，共鉴定出７种挥发性组分，２种高分子聚合物。     

Prodrugs of 2',3'-dideoxyinosine (DDI): improved oral bioavailability via hydrophobic esters.

Five ester prodrugs of 2'3'-dideoxyinosine (DDI) were synthesized for the purpose of improving oral bioavailability. The prodrugs, acetate (C2-DDI), octanoate (C8-DDI), stearate (C18-DDI), benzoate (Bz-DDI), and hemisuccinate (Suc-DDI) were proved to quantitatively regenerate their parent drug by enzymatic hydrolysis. Though the chemical stability of the prodrugs under acidic conditions was not improved, their solubility in water was significantly decreased by esterification, except for Suc-DDI. Bioavailability was evaluated by oral administration to rats. Two hydrophobic prodrugs (C8-DDI and Bz-DDI) showed higher absolute bioavailability (23.5% and 31.0%, respectively) than did DDI (15.2%), though that of C2-DDI (11.5%) and Suc-DDI (4.5%) was poor.     

Tunneling conductance of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8-SnO2 junction along the c-axis

fine structure was observed in the conductance curve of a tunneling junction composed of a single crystalline Bi2212 and an evaporated SnO₂ film. It is similar to those of Bi2212-GaAs mechanical junctions and there is a certain correspondence between the structure and the phonon density of states. Thus the previous conclusion that the structure is due to phonons has been complemented by this work. The energy gap 2 was 57 meV at 13 K and T _c was 78 K. 2(0)/k _B T _c is then 8.3. (T) showed the BCS-like temperature dependence.     

Chemical behaviour of helium muonide just after muon catalyzed fusion

Chemical behaviour of a helium muonide atom /He^o/ can be understood on the analogy of its hydrogen homologues, muonium /Mu/, deuterium /D^o/ and tritium /T^o/. In muon catalyzed fusion /CF/, a small fraction of negative muon in the fusion cycle sticks to helium to give proton-like He⁺ which easily picks up one electron forming He^o. The energy of He⁺ at birth is about 3.5 MeV being in a similar situation to the case of a hot tritium atom produced by /n, p/ or /n, / reaction. The reaction cross section and rate of He^o reactions are estimated.     

Biomimetic formation of gramicidin S by dimerization-cyclization of pentapeptide precursor on solid support

The biomimetic formation of gramicidin S, cyclo(-d-Phe-Pro-Val-Orn-Leu-)₂, by the dimerization and cyclization of pentapeptide precursor without the protection of δ-amino group of the Orn residue was examined on a solid support. The cyclization of H-d-Phe-Pro-Val-Orn-Leu-oxime on a resin with an oxime group of 0.62 mmol/g in 1,4-dioxane directly gave gramicidin S in a 50% yield. The dimerization-cyclization mode on the solid support was similar to that of the biosynthesis of gramicidin S on an enzyme.
