Reaction of haloadamantanes with salts of nitro compounds

Silver and mercury salts of nitro compounds react with bromo- or chloroadamantanes with the formation of products of C- and/or O-alkylation, the ratio of which depends on the structure of the initial reactants. The direct experimental evidence of nitronic esters to be isomerized into nitro derivatives and of their role as intermediates in the formation of the nitro derivatives in the alkylation of nitro compounds has been presented for the first time.N. 3,4-Bis(α-nitroalkyl-ONN-azoxy)furazans and some of their derivatives

Reaction of pseudonitroles and their derivatives with diaminofurazan in the presence of dibromoisocyanuric acid (DBI) resulted in symmetrical 3,4-bis(-nitroalkyl-ONN-azoxy)-furazans or their derivatives. For the synthesis of bis(nitroalkyl-ONN-azoxy)furazans bearing various a-nitroalkyl-ONN-azoxy groups, the method based on the reaction of ??-nitronitroso compounds with 3-amino-4-(nitroalkyl)-ONN-azoxy)furazans (in the presence of DBI) was developed. Synthetic procedures towards aforementioned compounds with nitromethyl-, dibromonitromethyl-, trinitromethyl-ONN-azoxy and other groups were described.

Effect of the matrix composition on the activity of metal oxide catalysts in CVD synthesis of carbon nanotubes

Citrate-nitrate method was used to synthesize (Fe,Co)/MgO-Al₂O₃, (Fe,Mo)/MgO-Al₂O₃, and (CoMo)/MgO-Al₂O₃ catalysts for production of carbon nanotubes. Multi-walled nanotubes were formed on these catalysts by catalytic pyrolysis of a propane-butane mixture.
