Flow-Injection Determination of Benzylpenicillin Novocaine Salt in Penicillin Preparations with Spectrophotometric Detection

Working conditions were found for determining the novocaine salt of benzylpenicillin antibiotic as its 4,6-dinitrobenzofuroxan derivative by flow-injection analysis with spectrophotometric detection ( = 510 nm). The best results were obtained for flows of methanol (ethanol) and water with a volume ratio of 30 : 70. The calibration range of the pharmaceutical is 0.28–10 g/mL with a throughput capacity of 30 samples/h. The limit of detection (3, n= 4) is 0.14 g/mL. Amino acids and components of penicillin-containing pharmaceuticals did not interfere with the determination. Two new alkaloids — petine and petine N-oxide — have been isolated from the bulbs of Petilium eduardi. Synthesis, Crystal Structure Determination, and Physicochemical Study of the Nickel(II) Complex of 4-(Pyridyl-2)-1,2,4-triazole

A new trinuclear nickel(II) complex with 4-(pyridyl-2)-1,2,4-triazole (pytrz), [Ni₃(pytrz)₆(H₂O)₆](NO₃)₆, has been synthesized, and its crystal structure has been determined. The compound was studied by X-ray phase analysis (XRPA), magnetochemical measurements, and electronic and IR spectroscopy.     

IMPERIAZINE, A NEW ALKALOID FROM Petilium eduardi

The new C-nor-D-homosteroidal alkaloid imperiazine was isolated from the bulbous plantPetilium eduardiRgl. (Liliaceae). The structure was established using spectral data.     

Study of the complexes of iron(II) dicyanamide and isothiocyanate with 2-(2-<Emphasis Type="Italic">tert</Emphasis>-butyltetrazol-5-yl)pyridine

Iron(II) dicyanamide and isothiocyanate compounds with 2-(2-tert-butyltetrazol-5-yl)pyridine (L) of the composition [FeL₂(C₂N₃)₂]?2H₂O (I) and [FeL₂(NCS)₂]H₂O (II) are synthesized and studied. The compounds are examined using powder and single crystal XRD (for I), electron (diffuse reflectance spectra) and IR spectroscopy, static magnetic susceptibility. The analysis of the dependence μ_eff(Т) indicates that the exchange interactions of antiferromagnetic nature appear between the iron(II) ions at temperatures below 50 K.     

Coinage metal complexes of 2-diphenylphosphino-3-methylindole

Coordination of P,N indolyl-phosphine ligands to Au(I), Ag(I) and Cu(I) metal ions under weakly basic conditions results in easy deprotonation of the indolyl N-H function and effective formation of a family of homo- and heterobimetallic complexes MM'(PPh(2)C(9)H(7)N)(2) (M = M' = Au (2), Ag (5); M = Au, M' = Cu (3), Ag (4)). The latter (4) exists as an inseparable mixture of four different complexes, which are in equilibrium driven by slow dynamics. The reaction of silver(I) and copper(I) ions with PPh(2)(C(9)H(8)N) affords a rare tetranuclear Z-shaped cluster Ag(2)Cu(2)(PPh(2)C(9)H(7)N)(4) (6), which exhibits red luminescence in solid state (650 nm) and a weak dual emission in solution with the main component in the near-IR region (746 nm).
