New approach to processing of chlorine-containing wastes: Synthesis of 2,3-dichloropropene from 1,2,3-trichloropropane

Possibilities of utilization of by-products formed in manufacture of epichlorohydrin are considered. A promising way to utilize wastes from production of epichlorohydrin by synthesis of 2,3-dichloropropene from 1,2,3-trichloropropane is suggested.     

Organoinorganic composites based on tetraethoxysilane and nitrogen polybases

Hybrid organoinorganic composites insoluble in water and organic solvents were prepared by the hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane in the presence of poly-1-vinylpyrazole, poly-1-vinylimidazole, and poly-4-vinylpyridine. The composition of the composites was determined by the nature of the polymeric nitrogen base and hydrolysis conditions. The composites synthesized showed high sorption activity in the extraction of the [PdCl₄]^2?, [PtCl₆]^2?, and [AuCl₄]^? ions from hydrochloric acid solutions.     

Sulfurization polyvinyl chloride

A sulfurized polymer comprising 57.64% of chemically bound sulfur characterizing by paramagnetism with the concentration of paramagnetic centers 2 × 10¹⁹ spins g^?1 and g-factor 2.0043 was resulted n the treatment of industrial polyvinyl chloride by elemental sulfur.     

Radical copolymerization of 1,2-dichlorovinyl propyl ketone and styrene

The possibility of synthesis of soluble copolymers by radical copolymerization of 1,2-dichlorovinyl propyl ketone with styrene in the presence of azobis(isobutyronitrile) was studied. The polymerization constants were determined and the probabilities of formation of various sequences of comonomer units were evaluated. The structure of the copolymers was studied by IR and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy, and some characteristics of the copolymers were determined.     

Copolymerization of 1-Vinylpyrazole with Vinyl Chloride

Copolymerization of vinyl chloride with 1-vinylpyrazole was studied. The copolymerization constants were determined. The chemical structure of the copolymers was studied by NMR and IR spectroscopy.     

Gold(III) sorption with copolymers derived from divinyl sulfide

Sorption recovery of gold(III) from aqueous mineral acids with copolymers of 4-vinylpyridine and 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine with divinyl sulfide was studied.

Copolymerization of 1-Vinyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole with Vinyl Chloride in the Presence of a Radical Initiator

Copolymerization of 1-vinyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole with vinyl chloride in the presence of azobis(isobutyronitrile) occurs as a two-step process. The copolymer is initially formed by the radical mechanism. Then, the eliminated hydrogen chloride initiates cationic oligomerization of 1-vinyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole, enriching the copolymer with units of this monomer.     

Copolymerization of Vinyl Chloride with 1-Vinyl-1,2,4-triazole

Copolymerization of vinyl chloride with 1-vinyl-1,2,4-triazole was studied. The copolymerization constants were determined. The chemical structure of the resulting copolymers was studied by NMR and IR spectroscopy.     

Poly(vinyl chloride) reactions with sodium and potassium derivatives of heteroaromatic and aromatic NH- and SH-acids in aprotic solvents

The observed featured and regularities of nucleophilic substitution of chlorine in poly(vinyl chloride) upon its reaction with sodium and potassium derivatives of pyrazole, 3,5-dimethylpyrazole, and 2-thiobenzimidazole, and with sodium thiophenolate have been understood in the frame of hard and soft acids and bases theory.
