The angular variations of the five-fold differential cross section obtained by using different wave functions of helium are compared with experimental data. It is found that in the coplanar geometry two kinematical arrangements, (i) equal energy sharing between the two ejected electrons with one of them ejected along the momentum transfer direction and the other along varying direction and (ii) the Bethe ridge condition with fixed sum of ejected electron energies and varying angle between them, are very sensitive to e-e correlations contained in the target wave function. This comparison has been used to show that open-shell class of wave functions better incorporate e-e correlations than the closed-shell class.  相似文献

The aim of this brief report is to study the behaviour of sheath structure in a multi-component plasma with dust-neutral collisions. The plasma consists of electrons, ions, micron size negatively charged dust particles and neutrals. The sheath-edge potential and sheath width are calculated for collisionally dominated sheath. The symmetric sinc-Galerkin method developed by Lund, when appliedto the second-order self-adjoint boundary value problem, givesrise to a symmetric coefficient matrix has a special structureso that it can be advantageously used in solving the discretesystem. In this paper, we employ the preconditioned conjugategradient method with banded matrices as preconditioners. Weprove that the condition number of the preconditioned matrixis uniformly bounded by a constant independent of the size ofthe matrix. In particular, we show that the solution of an n-by-ndiscrete symmetric sinc-Galerkin system can be obtained in O(nlog n) operations. We also extend our method to the self-adjointelliptic partial differential equation. Numerical results aregiven to illustrate the effectiveness of our fast iterativesolvers.  相似文献

The angular distribution of the five-fold differential cross section for the electron impact double ionization of He (21 S) and He (23 S) has been studied. The kinematical conditions for maxima/minima in the angular distribution for the two cases have been compared. The two-step process for the double ionization is found to contribute very little in the triplet case.  相似文献

Microwave absorption studies have been carried out on MgB2 superconductor using a standard X-band EPR spectrometer. The modulated low-field microwave absorption signals recorded for polycrystalline (grain size ∼ 10 μm) samples suggested the absence of weak-link character. The field dependent direct microwave absorption has been found to obey a ✓H dependence with two different slopes, which indicated a transition from strongly pinned lattice to flux flow regime.  相似文献

Elucidation of physicochemical mechanisms of enzymatic processes is one of the main tasks of modern biology. High efficiency and selectivity of enzymatic catalysis are mostly ensured by conformational dynamics of enzymes and substrates. Here, we applied a stopped-flow kinetic analysis based on fluorescent spectroscopy to investigate mechanisms of conformational transformations during the removal of alkylated bases from DNA by ALKBH2, a human homolog of Escherichia coli AlkB dioxygenase. This enzyme protects genomic DNA against various alkyl lesions through a sophisticated catalytic mechanism supported by a cofactor (Fe(II)), a cosubstrate (2-oxoglutarate), and O2. We present here a comparative study of conformational dynamics in complexes of the ALKBH2 protein with double-stranded DNA substrates containing N1-methyladenine, N3-methylcytosine, or 1,N6-ethenoadenine. By means of fluorescent labels of different types, simultaneous detection of conformational transitions in the protein globule and DNA substrate molecule was performed. Fitting of the kinetic curves by a nonlinear-regression method yielded a molecular mechanism and rate constants of its individual steps. The results shed light on overall conformational dynamics of ALKBH2 and damaged DNA during the catalytic cycle.  相似文献

Background  

Inflammation around cell bodies of primary sensory neurons and retinal ganglion cells enhances expression of neuronal growth-associated genes and stimulates axonal regeneration. We have asked if inflammation would have similar effects on corticospinal neurons, which normally show little response to spinal cord injury. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was applied onto the pial surface of the motor cortex of adult rats with or without concomitant injury of the corticospinal tract at C4. Inflammation around corticospinal tract cell bodies in the motor cortex was assessed by immunohistochemistry for OX42 (a microglia and macrophage marker). Expression of growth-associated genes c-jun, ATF3, SCG10 and GAP-43 was investigated by immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridisation.  相似文献

Design of novel DNA probes to inhibit specific repair pathways is important for basic science applications and for use as therapeutic agents. As shown previously, single pyrophosphate (PP) and O-ethyl-substituted pyrophosphate (SPP) modifications can inhibit the DNA glycosylase activities on damaged DNA. To understand the structural basis of this inhibition, the influence of the PP and SPP internucleotide groups on the helical parameters and geometry of a double-stranded DNA was studied by using molecular modeling tools including molecular dynamics and quantum mechanical-molecular mechanical (QM/MM) approaches. Native and locally modified PP- and SPP-containing DNA duplexes of dodecanucleotide d(C1G2C3G4A5A6T7T8C9G10C11G12) were simulated in aqueous solution. The energies and forces were computed by using the PBE0/6-31+G** approach in the QM part and the AMBER force-field parameters in the MM part. Analysis of the local base-pair helical parameters, internucleotide distances, and overall global structure at the located stationary points revealed a close similarity of the initial and modified duplexes, with only torsion angles of the main chain being altered in the vicinity of introduced chemical modification. Results show that the PP and SPP groups are built into a helix structure without elongation of the internucleotide distance due to flipping-out of phosphate group from the sugar-phosphate backbone. The mechanism of such embedding has only a minor impact on the base pairs stacking and Watson-Crick interactions. Biochemical studies revealed that the PP and SPP groups immediately 5', but not 3', to the 8-oxoguanosine (8oxodG) inhibit translesion synthesis by a DNA polymerase in vitro. These results suggest that subtle perturbations of the DNA backbone conformation influence processing of base lesions.  相似文献

Heating of zinc(II) nitrate and 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid (H2Tdc) in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine in N-methylpyrrolidone (Nmp) gave the crystals of a layered coordination polymer [Zn2(Nmp)2(Tdc)2] · 2Nmp · 0.5H2O, which were studied by X-ray diffraction. The compound was characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses, and luminescence measurements.  相似文献
