Bulk superconducting samples of type Tl0.5Pb0.5Sr1.6Ba0.4CaCu2−x Ru x O7−δ, (Tl, Pb)/Sr-1212, with 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.525 were prepared by the conventional one-step solid-state reaction technique. The prepared samples were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements. Enhancement of the phase formation, superconducting transition temperature T c and hole carriers concentration P was observed up to x = 0.075. For x > 0.075, a reverse trend was observed. EPR spectra were measured at different temperatures (120–290 K) for all prepared samples. The number of spins N participating in the resonance and the paramagnetic susceptibility χ were calculated as a function of both Ru-content and temperature. N and χ increased as the Ru-content increased. A linear relationship between logN and 1/T was established, from which the activation energy E a was calculated as a function of the Ru-content. The temperature dependence of χ was fitted according to Curie–Weiss type of magnetic behavior. Curie constant C, Curie temperature θ, the effective magnetic moment μ and the electronic specific heat γ were estimated as a function of the Ru-content.  相似文献

Summary A brief survey of microwave gas discharge breakdown is given. The conditions for breakdown in electron attaching and non-attaching gases is discussed. Results for air show both electron attachment and diffusion are operating. Hydrogen is taken as an example of a gas in which electron attachment is absent. For this case, data in the low pressure region, in the diffusion controlled region, and in the mobility controlled region are discussed and the results of the many studies in these regions are shown to be consistent with each other.This work was supported in part by the Signal Corps; the Office of Scientific Research, Air Research and Development Command; and the Office of Naval Research; of the United States of America.  相似文献

The field electron emission of carbon nanotubes has been heavily studied over the past two decades for various applications, such as in display technologies, microwave amplifiers, and spacecraft propulsion. However, a commercializable lightweight and internally gated electron source has yet to be realized. This work presents the fabrication and testing of a novel internally gated carbon nanotube field electron emitter. Several specific methods are used to prevent electrical shorting of the gate layer, a common failure for internally gated devices. A unique design is explored where the etch pits extend into the silicon substrate and isotropic etching is used to create a lateral buffer zone between the gate and carbon nanotubes. Carbon nanotubes are self-aligned to and within 10 microns from the gate, which creates large electric fields at low potential inputs. Initial tests confirm high field emission performance with an anode current density (based on total area of the device) of 293 μA?cm?2 and a gate current density of 1.68 mA?cm?2 at 250 V.  相似文献

Bayfol (PC-PBT blend ?lm) is a class of polymeric solid-state nuclear track detector which has a lot of applications in several radiation detection ?elds. It is a bisphenol-A polycarbonate PC blended with polybutylene terephthalate PBT. Bayfol/Palladium (PC-PBT/Pd) nanocomposite films have been deposited using the molding technique. It is worth mentioning that this report is almost the first one dealing with the topic of the changes of physical properties of Bayfol/Pd nanocomposite due to laser exposure. Samples from PC-PBT/Pd (5?wt%) nanocomposite were exposed to IR-pulsed laser of 5-W power, capable of producing 2000 pulses per second with pulse duration of 200?ns at 904?nm. The laser fluences were in the range 2–25?J/cm2. The resultant modi?cations in the exposed nanocomposite samples have been studied as a function of fluence using different characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV spectroscopy and color difference studies. The results indicate the proper dispersion of Pd nanoparticles in the PC-PBT matrix that causes a strong intermolecular interaction between Pd and PC-PBT, resulted in an increase in refractive index and the amorphous phase. Also, it is found that the laser exposure reduces the optical energy gap that could be attributed to the increase in structural disorder of the exposed PC-PBT/Pd nanocomposites due to crosslinking. Further, the color intensity ΔE, which is the color difference between the exposed samples and the non-exposed one, was increased with increasing the laser fluence, convoyed by a significant increase in the green and yellow color components.  相似文献

The sulfoindocyanine Cy3 is one of the most commonly used fluorescent dyes in the investigation of the structure and dynamics of nucleic acids by means of fluorescence methods. In this work, we report the fluorescence and photophysical properties of Cy3 attached covalently to single-stranded and duplex DNA. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence techniques were used to determine fluorescence quantum yields, emission lifetimes, and fluorescence anisotropy decays. The existence of a transient photoisomer was investigated by means of transient absorption techniques. The fluorescence quantum yield of Cy3 is highest when attached to the 5' terminus of single-stranded DNA (Cy3-5' ssDNA), and decreases by a factor of 2.4 when the complementary strand is annealed to form duplex DNA (Cy3-5' dsDNA). Substantial differences were also observed between the 5'-modified strands and strands modified through an internal amino-modified deoxy uridine. The fluorescence decay of Cy3 became multiexponential upon conjugation to DNA. The longest lifetime was observed for Cy3-5' ssDNA, where about 50% of the decay is dominated by a 2.0-ns lifetime. This value is more than 10 times larger than the fluorescence lifetime of the free dye in solution. These observations are interpreted in terms of a model where the molecule undergoes a trans-cis isomerization reaction from the first excited state. We observed that the activation energy for photoisomerization depends strongly on the microenvironment in which the dye is located. The unusually high activation energy measured for Cy3-5' ssDNA is an indication of dye-ssDNA interactions. In fact, the time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy decay of this sample is dominated by a 2.5-ns rotational correlation time, which evidences the lack of rotational freedom of the dye around the linker that separates it from the terminal 5' phosphate. The remarkable variations in the photophysical properties of Cy3-DNA constructs demonstrate that caution should be used when Cy3 is used in studies employing DNA conjugates.  相似文献

用羧甲基纤维素钠(CMC—Na)制得了含水量高达98%的水凝胶,考察了防腐剂、交联剂、无机态氮素、有机态氮素、碳水化合物的加入量以及环境中pH值等因素对生物降解性的影响。结果表明:制备条件不同,水凝胶的生物降解性不同;环境中一定量铵根离子的存在有利于水凝胶的生物降解;在pH=5.2的环境中纤维素酶活性最高,降解程度最大。  相似文献

In previous works, the effects on the devitrification mechanism of a certain composition calcium phosphate with additives of TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3, CeO2 have been studied. It was found that some metal oxide additives played a key role as the nucleation agent in calcium phosphate glass-ceramics, and the devitrification mechanism of calcium phosphate glass system was changed drastically by addition such as metal oxide. Hydroxyapatite (HAp), tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and β-calcium phosphate (β-CaP2O6) whisker are the three most biologically compatible materials to human bone in bio-ceramics field. In this work, the effect on devitrification mechanism and the physical properties of certain composition calcium phosphate glass with three above additives were investigated, and the result shown that although no fine crystalline was induced in the certain composition of calcium phosphate glass when a large amount of additive was added, but such additives play a catalyst role by lowering the activation energies of devitrification. It would supplement the mechanical properties and the biocompatibility for the calcium phosphate glasses.  相似文献

Non-natural polymers with well-defined three-dimensional folds offer considerable potential for engineering novel functions that are outside the scope of biological polymers. Here we describe a family of N-substituted glycine or "peptoid" nonamers that folds into an unusual "threaded loop" structure of exceptional thermal stability and conformational homogeneity in acetonitrile. The structure is chain-length-specific and relies on bulky, chiral side chains and chain-terminating functional groups for stability. Notable elements of the structure include the engagement of the positively charged amino terminus by carbonyl groups of the backbone through hydrogen bonding interactions and shielding of polar groups from and near-complete exposure of hydrophobic groups to solvent, in a manner resembling a folded polypeptide globular domain turned inside-out. The structure is stable in a variety of organic solvents but is readily denatured in any solvent/cosolvent milieu with hydrogen bonding potential. The structure could serve as a scaffold for the elaboration of novel functions and could be used to test methodologies for predicting solvent-dependent polymer folding.  相似文献
