Synthesis based on β-phenylethylamines X. Synthesis of new derivatives of phenylethylaminomethylbenzo-crown ethers

Solution methods for the generalized integral volterra equation of the first kind

This paper is devoted to exact and approximate methods (first of all, direct ones) for the solution of integro-operational equations. Themost attention is paid to the theoretical substantiation of the collocation method for the solution of the mentioned equations within the general theory of approximate methods developed by L. V. Kantorovich.     

Mn site substitution of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 with closed shell ions: Effect on magnetic transition temperature

Mn site is substituted with closed shell ions (Al, Ga, Ti, Zr and a certain combination of Zr and Al) and also with Fe and Ru ions carrying the magnetic moment (S=5/2 and 2 respectively) at a fixed concentration of 5 at %. Substitution did not change either the crystal symmetry or the oxygen stoichiometry. All substituents were found to suppress both the metal-insulator and ferromagnetic transition temperatures (T _p(ρ) and T _C, respectively) to varied extents. Two main contributions identified for the suppression are the lattice disorder arising due to difference in the ionic radii between the substituent (r _M) and the Mn³⁺ ion (r _Mn ³⁺) and in the case of the substituents carrying a magnetic moment, the type of magnetic coupling between the substituent and that of the neighboring Mn ion.     

Molecular and crystal structure of 4′-cyanobenzo-15-crown-5

The crystal structure of 4′-cyanobenzo-15-crown-5 is determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystallographic parameters of single crystals are as follows: a = 40.479(6) Å, b = 8.821(2) Å, c = 8.484(2) Å, β = 93.94(2)°, V = 3022.2 ų, Z = 8, d _calcd = 1.27 g/cm³, and space group C2/c. The structure is solved by the direct method and refined by the least-squares procedure to R = 0.068. The conformation of the macrocycle in 4′-cyano-B15C5 is described by the a-a-g ^? -a-a-g-g ^? -a-a-g-a-g-a-a-s sequence of torsion angles.     

Effect of Insulin-Dependent Cytoplasmic Regulator on Murine Melanoma KML Cell Proliferation

Insulin-dependent cytoplasmic regulator (IDR), the activity of which correlates with the insulin level in blood, was isolated from rat liver and fractionated on a Sephadex G-25 column. Radioautography established that IDR stimulates by 30% proliferation of murine melanoma KML cells in culture. This is indicated by ³ H-thymidine incorporation into the cell nucleus. It is proposed that insulin stimulates proliferation of the melanoma KML cell cultures through an intracellular intermediate, IDR     

Some algorithms for equivalent transformation of nondeterministic finite automata

In this paper we consider algorithms which allow one to combine several states of a nondeterministic finite automaton into one state. Along with the algorithms for combining states, we adduce one more algorithm for the equivalent transformation of a non-deterministic finite automaton, namely, an algorithm for adding cycles. Problems under consideration imply the development of robust computer programs.     

Preparation of composite films with silver nanoparticles and their fractal aggregates in a polymeric matrix

Conditions were examined for preparation of film materials with polyacrylamide matrix, promising for optical applications and containing both single silver particles and their fractal aggregates.     

Acylation of Dibenzo-18-crown-6 with Alkali-metal Acetates in Polyphosphoric Acid

The acylation of dibenzo-18-crown-6 by lithium, sodium, and potassium acetates in polyphosphoric acid was studied. Complexes of dibenzo-18-crown-6 with the acetates were obtained. A new method is proposed for the production of mono- and diacetyldibenzo-18-crown-6 by the reaction of dibenzo-18-crown-6 complexes with metal acetates in polyphosphoric acid. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 8, pp. 1146–1149, August, 2005.
