Crystal and molecular structures of 2,10-diacetoxy-13-thiabicyclo[7.3.1]-cis-tridec-5-ene and 2,9-dichloro-13-thiabicyclo[8.2.1]-cis-tridec-5-ene sulfoxide

The crystal and molecular structures of 2,10-diacetoxy-13-thiabicyclo[7.3.1]-cis-tridec-5-ene and 2,9-dichloro-13-thiablcyclo[8.2.1]-cis-tridec-5-ene sulfoxide were established. The conformations of the molecules are such that the unshared pairs of electrons of the sulfur atoms are directed to the carboncarbon double bonds of their molecules. It was observed that there are stereochemical conditions for transannular transformations under the influence of polarized molecules and cations.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 12, pp. 1628–1632, December, 1977.

By the method of spectral expansions we establish a uniqueness criterion of a solution to the Dirichlet problem for the three-dimensional mixed-type equation with the Bessel operator.     

Synthesis and antiadrenergic properties of β-substituted alcohols based on 6-hydroxymethylpyridoxine

An approach to the synthesis of epoxides based on 6-hydroxymethylpyridoxine acetals was developed. The epoxides obtained were involved in the ring opening reactions by nitrogen-, oxygen-, and sulfur-containing nucleophiles. Cytotoxicity and antiadrenergic properties of some synthesized compounds were studied on the models in situ and in vivo.     

The thermochemical characteristics of vaporization and formation of organic three-coordinate arsenic derivatives

The experimental data on the enthalpies of vaporization and formation of more than 30 three-coordinate arsenic derivatives of various structures were collected and analyzed. The group contributions of arsenic-containing fragments to the enthalpies of vaporization and formation were calculated. This opens up the possibility of calculating the fundamental thermochemical characteristics of a wide range of As(III) derivatives by the additive scheme.     

Application of Amperometric Immunoenzyme Sensors to the Determination of Bacterial Antigens

A new version of immunoenzyme assay for the antigens of pathogenic microorganisms Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus based on the use of amperometric sensors is proposed for their determination in diagnosing infectious diseases (tonsillitis of different severities). The best conditions for sensor operation were chosen, and the quantitative characteristics of the antibodies used and the antigen–antibody immune complexes formed. The sensors developed were tested with blood serums from ill patients, and the possibility of the differential diagnostics of diseases, at the early stages of their development, in particular, was demonstrated.     

Determination of bacterial antigens using a multichannel immunoenzyme amperometric sensor

A procedure for the individual determination of the antigens of the conditionally pathogenic micro-organisms Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus present in combination using a multichannel immunoenzyme amperometric sensor based on a screen-printed electrode was developed. Conditions for fabricating the biosensing part and for the operation of the sensor (the matrix component, the ratio between biocomponents, and the substrate concentration) were chosen. The determination limits of bacterial antigens obtained using the analytical device were equal to 5 × 10^?9 mg/mL. It was found that bacterial antigens simultaneously present in serums from patients can be determined using the sensor developed.     

Calculation of Fundamental Thermochemical Parameters of Phosphoranes by the Additivity Scheme

Using the additivity scheme, experimental enthalpies of vaporization and formation of phosphoranes were analyzed, group contributions to the enthalpies of vaporization and formation were determined, and thermochemical parameters of five-coordinate phosphorus derivatives were calculated.
