Enthalpies of solution and of transfer of amides for the solvents chloroform (CHCl3), methylenechloride (CH2Cl2), carbontetrachloride (CCl4), cyclohexane (C6H12), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA), and ethylacetate (EtOAc) have been used to isolate and quantify the solvation interactions of amides in chlorinated solvents. Specific interactions at the aminde carbonyl and N–H groups have been identified. An analysis of the transfer enthalpies of pyrrole and methylpyrrole from cyclohexane to the chlorinated solvents shows that specific interactions between the pyrroles and these solvents are similar in nature. A means of calculating differences in the transfers of different solutes between the same solvent pair is given.Work done at Lebanon Valley College.  相似文献

To understand sparse systems, we must account for both strong local atom bonds and weak nonlocal van der Waals forces between atoms separated by empty space. A fully nonlocal functional form [Phys. Rev. B 62, 6997 (2000)]] of density-functional theory (DFT) is applied here to the layered systems graphite, boron nitride, and molybdenum sulfide to compute bond lengths, binding energies, and compressibilities. These key examples show that the DFT with the generalized-gradient approximation does not apply for calculating properties of sparse matter, while use of the fully nonlocal version appears to be one way to proceed.  相似文献

The decay of 133Sn leading to levels in 13351Sb82, which has one proton outside the closed shell, has been observed at the OSIRIS isotope separator on-line facility. The half-life is 1.47±0.04 sec and the d52. level is found at an excitation of 963 keV. The decay of 18±1 sec135Te to one-particle and three-particle levels in 13553I82 has also been studied.  相似文献

The intensity probability distribution as well as the cross-spectral density of partially coherent optical fields generated through high-numerical-aperture illuminations are analyzed, and novel effects, not apparent in paraxial optical fields, are described. It is shown that the intensity probability distribution significantly differs from what can be expected from a small-angle analysis, and the number of degrees of freedom for the distribution is higher. It is further shown that the cross-spectral density of a high-angle optical field is a function of the coordinate difference along the propagation direction of the field.  相似文献

We have studied the dynamics of water molecules in six crystal structures of four human cytochromes P450, 2A6, 2C8, 2C9, and 3A4, with molecular dynamics simulations. In the crystal structures, only a few water molecules are seen and the reported sizes of the active-site cavity vary a lot. In the simulations, the cavities are completely filled with water molecules, although with approximately 20% lower density than in bulk water. The 2A6 protein differs from the other three in that it has a very small cavity with only two water molecules and no exchange with the surroundings. The other three proteins have quite big cavities, with 41 water molecules on average in 2C8 and 54-58 in 2C9 and 3A4, giving a water volume of 1500-2100 A3. The two crystal structures of 2C9 differ quite appreciably, whereas those of 3A4 are quite similar. The active-site cavity is connected to the surroundings by three to six channels, through which there is a quite frequent exchange of water molecules (one molecule is exchanged every 30-200 ps), except in 2A6. Most of the channels are observed also in the crystal structures, but two to three channels in each protein open only during the simulations. There are no water molecules close to the heme iron ion in these simulations of the high-spin ferric state (the average distance to the closest water molecule is 3.3-5 A), and there are few ordered water molecules in the active sites, none of which is conserved in all proteins.  相似文献
