Thermal and mechanical coupling between successive pulses in KrF-excimer-laser ablation of polyimide

Multiple-shot effects in laser processing and ablation of polyimide are examined and are found to be the dominant phenomena for processes involving several hundreds or thousands of pulses. For fluences less than 260 mJ/cm2, it was found that it is impossible to cut through 75 m polyimide foils for an arbitrarily large number of excimer pulses even though this fluence is more than ten times the single-shot ablation threshold. The halt in etching is due to the formation, over a number of shots, of a robust carbon matrix with a deep surface roughness which is also responsible for laser-induced electrical conductivity. The effect of thermal coupling between successive shots is shown to be a dominant factor in determining the electrical properties of the carbon layer. Differences in electrical conductivity of up to 12 orders of magnitude were found for only small differences in repetition rate. Transmission electron microscopy revealed the changes in microstructure responsible for the dramatic differences in electrical properties. 相似文献

A viologen derivative carrying a benzimidazole group ( V-P-I 2+; viologen–phenylene–imidazole V-P-I ) can be dimerized in water using cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) in the form of a 2:2 complex resulting in a negative shift of the guest pKa, by more than 1 pH unit, contrasting with the positive pKa shift usually observed for CB-based complexes. Whereas 2:2 complex protonation is unclear by NMR, silver cations have been used for probing the accessibility of the imidazole groups of the 2:2 complexes. The protonation capacity of the buried imidazole groups is reduced, suggesting that CB[8] could trigger proton release upon 2:2 complex formation. The addition of CB[8] to a solution containing V-P- I 3+ indeed released protons as monitored by pH-metry and visualized by a coloured indicator. This property was used to induce a host/guest swapping, accompanied by a proton transfer, between V-P-I 3+ ⋅ CB[7] and a CB[8] complex of 1-methyl-4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium. The origin of this negative pKa shift is proposed to stand in an ideal charge state, and in the position of the two pH-responsive fragments inside the two CB[8] which, alike residues engulfed in proteins, favour the deprotonated form of the guest molecules. Such proton release triggered by a recognition event is reminiscent of several biological processes and may open new avenues toward bioinspired enzyme mimics catalyzing proton transfer or chemical reactions. 相似文献

We report on the generation of radially and azimuthally polarized Q-switched laser radiation and its application in material
processing. The power levels were sufficiently high to study micro-hole drilling in different metals. Depending on the optical
properties of the metal, either radial or azimuthal polarization shows the best efficiency and the effect is attributed to
waveguiding. For steel, a comparison to linearly or circularly polarized laser radiation indicates that the doughnut-shaped
beam with azimuthal polarization is the most energy-efficient in producing holes of the same diameter and depth.

Ultrashort bursts of K
α X-ray radiation were generated from fs-laser-produced plasmas. A complete experimental characterization of the X-ray source
in terms of spectral, spatial, and temporal properties was performed. The pulse width of the K
α burst is shorter than 250 fs. The time-resolved evolution of a shock wave launched by a synchronized laser pulse in InSb
was investigated. The transient change of the rocking curve yields detailed information on the structural changes.

Decomposition of t-butyl isopropyl nitroxide and its β2H-labelled homologue has been examined by UV and EPR. The bimolecular reaction does not show reversible formation of a dimer, but exhibits an isotope effect (kH/kd)30°C?9 which shows that the rupture of the CH bond is involved in the slow step of the decomposition. Thin films of a tailor-made photodecomposible aryltriazene polymer were applied in a modified laser-induced forward transfer
(LIFT) process as sacrificial release layers. The photopolymer film acts as an intermediate energy-absorbing dynamic release
layer (DRL) that decomposes efficiently into small volatile fragments upon UV laser irradiation. A fast-expanding pressure
jet is generated which is used to propel an overlying transfer material from the source target onto a receiver. This DRL-assisted
laser direct-write process allows the precise deposition of intact material pixels with micrometer resolution and by single
laser pulses. Triazene-based photopolymer DRL donor systems were studied to derive optimum conditions for film thickness and
laser fluences necessary for a defined transfer process at the emission wavelength of a XeCl excimer laser (308 nm). Photoablation,
surface detachment, delamination and transfer behavior of aryltriazene polymer films with a thickness from 25 nm to ∼400 nm
were investigated in order to improve the process control parameters for the fabrication of functional thin-film devices of
