Trapezoidal phase mask coronagraph

An angular trapezoidal phase mask used for a wideband coronagraph is proposed. The azimuthal phase of the mask is double-periodic and has both trapezoidal and constant parts in each period. This kind of continuous phase distribution can be employed to avoid the abrupt phase variation of the 6-level phase distribution we proposed previously. Numerical calculations show that this more practical phase mask can still keep its superior performance in terms of starlight elimination, small inner working angle, and good achromatism. It is of great importance that there is no singularity in this kind of mask except for a singularity at the center. This mask design is close to real manufacturing conditions, and the process technology is superior.

Photoluminescence in Gd2O3: Er3+, Yb3+ upconversion inverse opal

Photoluminescence properties of Gd₂O₃: Er³⁺, Yb³⁺ upconversion inverse opal photonic crystals were investigated. The photoluminescence spectra of the inverse opal show strong dependence on upconversion emission intensity and the corresponding photonic band-gaps of the inverse opal. Significant suppression of the green or red upconversion emission was observed if the photonic band-gap overlaps with the Er³⁺ ions emission band. The color purity of the red or green emission was improved in the inverse opal by the suppression of green or red UC emission. We believe that the present work will be valuable for not only the foundational study of upconversion emission modification but also new optical devices in upconversion lighting and display.     

Infrared broadband emission of bismuth–thulium co-doped lanthanum–aluminum–silica glasses

The Bi–Tm co-doped SiO₂–Al₂O₃–La₂O₃ (SAL) glasses, which exhibited a broadband near-infrared (NIR) emission was investigated by the optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra. The super broadband near-infrared emission from 1000 to 2100 nm, which covered the whole O, E, S, C and L bands, was observed in the Bi–Tm co-doped samples, as a result of the overlap of the Bi-related emission band (centered at 1270 nm) and the emission from Tm^{3+ 3}H₄→³F₄ transition (1440 nm) as well as Tm^{3+ 3}F₄→³H₆ transition (1800 nm). Relative luminescence intensity at 1270, 1440 and 1800 nm wavelength varied depending on the mixing ratio of Bi and Tm and the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) extending from 1000 to 1600 nm could be 400 nm. These results indicated that Bi–Tm co-doped SiO₂–Al₂O₃–La₂O₃ glasses could provide potential applications in tunable lasers as well as the broadband optical amplifiers in WDM system.     

Investigation of luminescence properties in SiO2: Tb,Yb upconversion inverse opal

The SiO₂: Tb, Yb inverse opals with photonic band gap at 465 or 543 nm were prepared, and an effect of photonic band gap on upconversion spontaneous emission from Tb³⁺ was investigated. The results show that the photonic band gap has a significant influence on the upconversion emission of the SiO₂: Tb, Yb inverse opals. The upconversion luminescence of the Tb³⁺ ions is suppressed in the inverse opal compared with the luminescence of that of the reference sample.     

Semisynthesis and Pesticidal Activities of Novel Cholesterol Ester Derivatives Containing Cinnamic Acid-like Fragments

Due to the extensive use of agrochemicals resulting in the emergence of pesticide resistance and ecological environment problems, the research and development of new alternatives for crop protection is highly desirable. In order to discover potent natural product-based insecticide candidates, a series of new cholesterol ester derivatives containing cinnamic acid-like fragments at the C-7 position were synthesized. Some derivatives showed potent pesticidal activities. Against Mythimna separata Walker, compounds 2a, Id, Ig, and IIg showed 2.1–2.4-fold growth-inhibitory activity of the precursor cholesterol. Against Plutella xylostella Linnaeus, compounds Ig, IIf, and IIi exhibited 1.9–2.1-fold insecticidal activity of cholesterol. These results will pave the way for the future synthesis of cholesterol-based derivatives as agrochemicals.     

清液体系中T型分子筛膜的高重复性合成与渗透汽化性能

以自制微米级分子筛为晶种,在清液体系中成功合成出高性能的T型分子筛膜,考察了硅铝比、水硅比、碱度及合成温度与时间等条件对膜的生长和渗透汽化性能的影响.结果表明,在摩尔组成为1SiO₂:0.015Al₂O₃:0.41(Na₂O+K₂O):30H₂O的清液体系中,于423K晶化6h的条件下可较快地形成一层厚度为5μm的连续致密纯相T型分子筛膜,较大缩短了膜合成时间且提高了膜致密性.在优化条件下所合成的膜具有优良的分离性能和高重复性.348K时,在10wt%水-90wt%异丙醇混合物体系中膜的渗透通量和分离因子分别高达4.20kg/(m²·h)和7800.     

FAAS直接法测定环境和生物试样中Zn、Pb和Cd

本文系统研究了海水、土壤、沉积物和生物中Cd、Pb和Zn用火焰原子吸收直接法测定时的干扰与背景校正。由于这些物质基体中含有大量Al、Na、K、Ca、Mg、Fe等元素,在火焰中形成MX、MO和MOH分子光谱与分析元素线重叠,经背景校正后可获得更准确的结果和更好的回收率,对检出限和精密度均有改善。     

Semilocal convergence analysis for the modified Newton-HSS method under the Hölder condition

The present paper is concerned with theoretical properties of the modified Newton-HSS method for large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite systems of nonlinear equations. Assuming that the nonlinear operator satisfies the Hölder continuity condition, a new semilocal convergence theorem for the modified Newton-HSS method is established. The Hölder continuity condition is milder than the usual Lipschitz condition. The semilocal convergence theorem is established by using the majorizing principle, which is based on the concept of majorizing sequence given by Kantorovich. Two real valued functions and two real sequences are used to establish the convergence criterion. Furthermore, a numerical example is given to show application of our theorem.
