Ab initio SCF-MO calculations, mainly at the 6-31G F* level with 3-21G F* fully optimized geometries, were performed for 2- and 3-fluorostyrene in different comformations.Structures and conformational preferences of these molecules are compared with available data and discussed. It was found that the 2-fluorostyrene molecule has acis-trans energy difference of ca. 2.4 kJ mol–1, showing a small barrier to planarity of 0.26 kJ mol–1 in thetrans form. While the reduced stability of thecis form is mainly ascribed to a repulsive F ... vinyl group interaction, the partial loss of resonance stabilization between the ring and the vinyl group in the trans form and the H6 ... Hc repulsive interaction in this form are taken to explain the local maximum at=180. In the 3-fluorostyrene molecule, thecis form is favored over thetrans by ca. 0.5 kJ mol–1. An appreciable asymmetry of charge distribution found for thetrans form is assumed to slightly overweigh the difference in nuclear repulsion energy favorable to this conformation, thus explaining the observed relative stability. 相似文献

The intramolecular and long-range ferromagnetic coupling between p-phenylenediamine radical cations in head-to-tail coupled oligo(1, 4-phenyleneethynylene)s and oligo(1,4-phenylenvinylene)s between neighbors and next-nearest neighbors is described. UV/vis/near-IR experiments show that the radical cations are localized in the pendant p-phenylenediamine units of the conjugated oligomers. The ESR spectra of these oligo(1,4-phenyleneethynylene) and oligo(1, 4-phenylenvinylene) di(radical cation)s are consistent with those of a triplet state. A linear behavior is observed for the doubly integrated ESR intensity of the DeltaM(s) = +/-1 and DeltaM(s) = +/-2 signals with the inverse temperature (I approximately 1/T), consistent with Curie's law. This behavior indicates a triplet ground-state diradical with a large triplet-singlet energy gap or possibly a degeneracy of singlet and triplet states. 相似文献

A new computationally-assisted methodology (PiMM), which accounts for the effects of intermolecular interactions in the crystal, is applied to the complete assignment of the Raman and infrared vibrational spectra of room temperature forms of crystalline caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline. The vibrational shifts due to crystal packing interactions are evaluated from ab initio calculations for a set of suitable molecular pairs, using the B3LYP/6-31G* approach. The proposed methodology provides an answer to the current demand for a reliable assignment of the vibrational spectra of these methyl-xanthines, and clarifies several misleading assignments. The most relevant intermolecular interactions in each system and their effect on the vibrational spectra are considered and discussed. Based on these results, significant insights are obtained for the structure of caffeine in the anhydrous form (stable at room temperature), for which no X-ray structure has been reported. A possible structure based on C((8))--H...N((9)) and C((1,3))--H...O intermolecular interactions is suggested. 相似文献

[formula: see text] New unsymmetrically substituted DB24C8-phthalocyanines, which are able to form complexes with suitable dialkylammonium cations, have been prepared. These complexes most probably have a pseudorotaxane geometry. 相似文献

A 1:1 inclusion compound between octakis(2,3,6-tri-O-methyl)-γ-cyclodextrin (TRIMEG) and the chelate complex Eu(NTA)3·2H2O (NTA=1-(2-naphthoyl)-3,3,3-trifluoroacetonate) was prepared and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results were compared with those obtained for the corresponding native γ-CD adduct. Excitation and emission spectra were measured, and the lifetimes were determined for the Eu3+ first excited state (5D0). The results indicate the presence of only one low-symmetry environment for the Eu3+ cations in the inclusion compounds. Encapsulation of the Europium complex in the two CDs increases the quantum efficiency of the ligand-to-metal energy transfer pathway, but the efficiency of the Eu3+ sensitization was significantly higher with TRIMEG as the host molecule. This may be related with the observation that the two hosts appear to have different influences on the Eu3+ coordination environments for the guest molecule. 相似文献
