A (2 + 1) one-colour resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionisation study is carried out on the C 2 sigma- state of the ClO radical in the one-photon energy range 29,500-31,250 cm-1. The ClO radical is produced by one-photon photolysis of ClO2 employing 359.2 nm photons derived from a separate laser. In this way a significant concentration of vibrationally excited ClO in its spin-orbit split X 2 pi omega (omega = 3/2 or 1/2) electronic ground state is produced. In addition to mass-resolved excitation spectra, kinetic-energy resolved photoelectron spectra for the X 3 sigma-(v+)<--C 2 sigma-(v' = 3-5) transitions are measured. These transitions are not completely Frank-Condon diagonal, and indicate a decrease in bond length on removal of the Rydberg electron from the C 2 sigma- state. In addition to an unambiguous assignment of the C 2 sigma- state, valuable information is obtained on the degree of vibrational excitation with which the nascent ClO radical is formed in the photolysis of ClO2. Analysis of the photoelectron spectra is supported by Franck-Condon calculations based on potential energy curves either from experimental spectroscopic parameters, or obtained by theoretical ab initio methods.  相似文献

The design, fabrication, and testing of photoelastic models of double-lap, multiple-pin connectors are discussed. Interest is in the stresses in the inner laps. These stresses are determined by constructing models with photoelastic inner laps and transparent-acrylic outer laps. The connectors have two pins, in tandem, parallel to the load direction. A photoelastic-isotropic point is shown to permit the evaluation of load sharing between the two pins. A numerical scheme, utilizing the isochromatic- and isoclinic-photoelastic data and a finite-difference representation of the planestress equilibrium equations, is used to compute the stresses around the two pins. Representative stress distributions and stress-concentration factors are shown.  相似文献

Ammonium thiocyanate (NH(4)SCN) is introduced to exchange the long, insulating ligands used in colloidal nanocrystal (NC) synthesis. The short, air-stable, environmentally benign thiocyanate ligand electrostatically stabilizes a variety of semiconductor and metallic NCs in polar solvents, allowing solution-based deposition of NCs into thin-film NC solids. NH(4)SCN is also effective in replacing ligands on NCs after their assembly into the solid state. The spectroscopic properties of this ligand provide unprecedented insight into the chemical and electronic nature of the surface of the NCs. Spectra indicate that the thiocyanate binds to metal sites on the NC surface and is sensitive to atom type and NC surface charge. The short, thiocyanate ligand gives rise to significantly enhanced electronic coupling between NCs as evidenced by large bathochromic shifts in the absorption spectra of CdSe and CdTe NC thin films and by conductivities as high as (2 ± 0.7) × 10(3) Ω(-1) cm(-1) for Au NC thin films deposited from solution. NH(4)SCN treatment of PbTe NC films increases the conductivity by 10(13), allowing the first Hall measurements of nonsintered NC solids, with Hall effect mobilities of 2.8 ± 0.7 cm(2)/(V·s). Thiocyanate-capped CdSe NC thin films form photodetectors exhibiting sensitive photoconductivity of 10(-5) Ω(-1) cm(-1) under 30 mW/cm(2) of 488 nm illumination with I(photo)/I(dark) > 10(3) and form n-channel thin-film transistors with electron mobilities of 1.5 ± 0.7 cm(2)/(V·s), a current modulation of >10(6), and a subthreshold swing of 0.73 V/decade.  相似文献

Background  

To develop antibacterial agents having novel modes of action against bacterial cell wall biosynthesis, we targeted the essential MurF enzyme of the antibiotic resistant pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. MurF catalyzes the formation of a peptide bond between D-Alanyl-D-Alanine (D-Ala-D-Ala) and the cell wall precursor uridine 5'-diphosphoryl N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanyl-D-glutamyl-meso-diaminopimelic acid (UDP-MurNAc-Ala-Glu-meso-A2pm) with the concomitant hydrolysis of ATP to ADP and inorganic phosphate, yielding UDP-N-acetylmuramyl-pentapeptide. As MurF acts on a dipeptide, we exploited a phage display approach to identify peptide ligands having high binding affinities for the enzyme.  相似文献

Surface ligand dynamics in growth of nanocrystals   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Amine ligands were identified to bond on the surface of CdSe nanocrystals in a dynamic fashion under elevated temperatures in the reproducible growth domain of the specific designed growth reactions. The surface ligand dynamics was found to strongly depend on the growth temperature, the ligand concentration, and the ligand chain length. The strong chain-length dependence was originated from the interligand interactions in the ligand monolayer of a nanocrystal, provided fatty amines being weak ligands for CdSe nanocrystals. When the growth reaction was above the boiling point of an amine ligand, the surface ligand dynamics was violent, a quasi-gas-phase state, indicated by strong temperature-dependent and fast growth rates of the nanocrystals. Approximately below its boiling point, a significantly weak temperature dependence of the growth rate of the nanocrystals associated with the quasi-liquid state of the surface ligands was observed. A direct result of studying the surface ligand dynamics of this well-established nanocrystal system was the formation of high-quality CdSe nanocrystals under much reduced temperature, 150 degrees C, in comparison to the standard 250-350 degrees C temperature range. This was achieved by using fatty amines with a short hydrocarbon chain at a low ligand concentration in the solution. Preliminary results indicate that a similar temperature (160 degrees C) also worked for the growth of InP nanocrystals.  相似文献

Acetonitrile is used as an eluent for reversed-phase chromatography. However, because it is a flammable solvent, using acetonitrile on a large scale requires expensive equipment and facilities specially designed for flammable solvents. Using a non-flammable solvent as an eluent eliminates this expense. A method was developed to purify recombinant human insulin-like growth factor I by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography using gradient elution with hexylene glycol, a non-flammable replacement for acetonitrile. The separation produced equivalent yield, purity and throughput as reversed-phase chromatography using elution with acetonitrile.  相似文献

The fracture of thick laminated graphite/epoxy composites has been the subject of an extensive research program. The program was divided into three major areas of investigation which included laminate thickness, laminate stacking sequence, and part-through surface flaws. The results from this program are reviewed with emphasis placed on their applicability to the design of thick laminated composite structures. For the purpose of localizing carboxyl groups from inside to particle surface, styrene — butyl acrylate — methacrylic acid (74.3/17.0/8.7, mol ratio) terpolymer emulsion was kept under pH 9 at different temperatures. The amount of carboxyl groups at the particle surface, As, was remarkably increased by the alkali-treatment above 35 °C. On the other hand, As value of the alkalitreated emulsion was decreased by keeping under ph 3 above 45 °C, although in the case of the original emulsion without the alkalitreatment, it was not changed by the acid-treatment. These results suggest that a part of polymer segments which have ionized carboxyl groups is dragged out at the surface by an increase in the affinity of the groups against water, and the dragged segments turn back into the inside again when the carboxyl groups are deionized.Part 97 of the series Studies on Suspension and Emulsion.  相似文献
