Nano-composites from aramid-silica system have been prepared via sol-gel process. Poly (phenyleneterephthalamide) copolymer chains were prepared by reacting a mixture of p- and m-phenylenediamines with terephthaloyl chloride in dimethylacetamide used as solvent. The sol-gel process in the polymer matrix was carried out through hydrolysis and condensation of a mixture of tetraethoxysilane and (3-glycidoxypropyl) trimethoxysilane. The latter was used to develop linkage, on one hand with silica network structure using alkoxy groups and on the other hand with aramid chains at its secondary amine groups through glycidal groups of silane. Mutual interaction between the two disparate phases aramid and silica network was thus created. Thin films of the composites containing different proportions of silica ranging from 5.0 to 25.0-wt% were cast by the solvent elution technique. The α-relaxation temperature associated with the glass transition was measured by the dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. The results showed an increase in the glass transition temperature from 328°C for the pure aramid to 352°C for the hybrid materials containing 25-wt% silica, an indicative of the increased interfacial interaction between the two phases. Films having relatively low silica content were flexible and transparent, but those with high silica content were opaque and brittle. These films were tested for their tensile strength, modulus and toughness. The mechanical strength of the composites as compared to the pure aramid increased initially but with further addition of silica the strength decreased. The initial increase can be explained due to increased interfacial interaction between the two phases, however agglomeration of silica particles was responsible for decreasing strength at higher silica contents.  相似文献

A fascinating ligand, 4‐formylpiperazinium 4‐formylpiperazine‐1‐carbodithioate (L‐salt) has been reacted with two electronically and sterically different trimethyltin(IV) chloride and triphenyltin(IV) chloride. The complexes 1 and 2 were characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic techniques, and X‐ray single crystal analysis. The latter technique confirmed the polymeric and monomeric nature of 1 and 2 , respectively. Both 1 and 2 showed intriguing molecular packing properties in the solid state. However, the packing of 1 is more interesting and unique where one‐dimensional polymer chains self assemble in two‐over‐two saltire‐shaped fashion to provide an overall multilayered structure. The different behavior of L toward two different tin(IV) compounds can be attributed to different electronic and steric environments around metal center.  相似文献

In the current study, in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities and in vivo anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of Scutellaria edelbergii Rech. f. (crude extract and subfractions, i.e., n-hexane, ethyl acetate (EtOAc), chloroform, n-butanol (n-BuOH) and aqueous) were explored. Initially, extraction and fractionation of the selected medicinal plant were carried out, followed by phytochemical qualitative tests, which were mostly positive for all the extracts. EtOAc fraction possessed a significant amount of phenolic (79.2 ± 0.30 mg GAE/g) and flavonoid (84.0 ± 0.39 mg QE/g) content. The EtOAc fraction of S. edelbergii exhibited appreciable antibacterial activity against Gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae) strains and significant zones of inhibition were observed against Gram-positive bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus). However, it was found inactive against Candida Albicans and Fusarium oxysporum fungal strains. The chloroform fraction was the most effective with an IC50 value of 172 and 74 µg/mL against DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl) and ABTS assays, in comparison with standard ascorbic acid 59 and 63 µg/mL, respectively. Moreover, the EtOAc fraction displayed significant in vivo anti-inflammatory activity (54%) using carrageenan-induced assay and significant (55%) in vivo analgesic activity using acetic acid-induced writing assay. In addition, nine known compounds, ursolic acid (UA), ovaul (OV), oleanolic acid (OA), β-sitosterol (BS), micromeric acid (MA), taraxasterol acetate (TA), 5,3′,4′-trihydroxy-7-methoxy flavone (FL-1), 5,7,4′-trihydroxy-6,3′-dimiethoxyflavone (FL-2) and 7-methoxy catechin (FL-3), were isolated from methanolic extract of S. edelbergii. These constituents have never been obtained from this source. The structures of all the isolated constituents were elucidated by spectroscopic means. In conclusion, the EtOAc fraction and all other fractions of S. edelbergii, in general, displayed a significant role as antibacterial, free radical scavenger, anti-inflammatory and analgesic agents which may be due to the presence of these constituents and other flavonoids.  相似文献

Egg white protein (EWP) is susceptible to denaturation and coagulation when exposed to high temperatures, adversely affecting its flavour, thereby influencing consumers’ decisions. Here, we employ high-voltage cold plasma (HVCP) as a novel nonthermal technique to investigate its influence on the EWP’s flavour attributes using E-nose, E-tongue, and headspace gas-chromatography-ion-mobilisation spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS) due to their rapidness and high sensitivity in identifying flavour fingerprints in foods. The EWP was investigated at 0, 60, 120, 180, 240, and 300 s of HVCP treatment time. The results revealed that HVCP significantly influences the odour and taste attributes of the EWP across all treatments, with a more significant influence at 60 and 120 s of HVCP treatment. Principal component analyses of the E-nose and E-tongue clearly distinguish the odour and taste sensors’ responses. The HS-GC-IMS analysis identified 65 volatile compounds across the treatments. The volatile compounds’ concentrations increased as the HVCP treatment time was increased from 0 to 300 s. The significant compounds contributing to EWP characterisation include heptanal, ethylbenzene, ethanol, acetic acid, nonanal, heptacosane, 5-octadecanal, decanal, p-xylene, and octanal. Thus, this study shows that HVCP could be utilised to modify and improve the EWP flavour attributes.  相似文献

This paper reports the effect of helium percentage variation in a capacitive RF helium-nitrogen mixture plasma on various plasma parameters and concentration of nitrogen active species (N2(C3Π u) and N2 +(B2Σ u +)). Langmuir probe is used for determination of electron energy distribution functions, effective electron temperature, plasma potential and electron density. Optical emission spectroscopy is used for determination of electron temperature from Boltzmann's plot of He–I lines and the relative changes in the concentration of active species by measuring the emission intensities of nitrogen (0-0) bands of the second positive and the first negative systems. The results demonstrate that electron temperature, electron density and concentration of active species increase significantly with increase in helium percentage in the mixture and RF power.  相似文献

Four mononuclear copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes were synthesized by the reaction of copper and zinc salts with 3,4-dichlorophenylactic acid, 2-bromophenylactic acid, biphenylacetic acid (O-donor ligand) and bipyridine (N-donor ligands) having the general formulae [(L)2Cu(bp)(H2O)] ( 1 ), [(BpA)2Cu(bp)] ( 2 ), [(L)2Zn(bp)(H2O)] ( 3 ) and [(L*)2Zn(bp)] ( 4 ) (L = 3,4-dichlorophenylacetate, L* = 2-bromophenylacetate bp = bipyridine, and BpA = biphenylacetate). Structures of all compounds were characterized through FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. FT-IR spectra of all complexes confirmed the binding mode of Cu-O and Zn-O. XRD data revealed that complexes 1 – 3 exhibited distorted octahedral arrangement, whereas complex 4 has a distorted tetrahedral environment. Micellization behavior was examined with anionic surfactant (SDS) by conductance measurement as well as absorption spectral analysis. DNA binding study was assessed through viscosity measurement and UV/Vis spectrophotometry. DPPH free radical scavenging assay was measured by UV/Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed nice biological potential of all the complexes.  相似文献

A series of Sm-CoMn substituted hexagonal ferrites with chemical composition of Sr0.85-xCa0.15SmxFe12-y(Co0.5Mn0.5)yO19 (0.00?≤?x?≤?0.60, (0.00?≤?y?≤?0.50) were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. Microstructure and magnetic properties of the hexaferrites have been investigated by the X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy and a permanent magnetic measuring system. A single magnetoplumbite phase is exhibited in the hexaferrites with the substitutiom of Sm (0.00?≤?x?≤?0.12) and CoMn (0.00?≤?y?≤?0.10) contents. For the hexaferrites containing Sm (x?≥?0.24) and CoMn (y?≥?0.20), impurity phases are observed in the structure. The FESEM micrographs exhibit that the hexaferrites with different Sm-CoMn contents have formed hexagonal structures and the grain size of the hexaferrites remains unchanged with increasing Sm-CoMn content. The remanence (Br), Hk/Hcj ratios, and maximum energy product [(BH)max] decrease with increasing Sm-CoMn content (0.00?≤?x?≤?0.60, (0.00?≤?y?≤?0.50). Instrinsic coercivity (Hcj) and magnetic induction coercivity (Hcb) increase with increasing Sm-CoMn content (0.00?≤?x?≤?0.12, 0.00?≤?y?≤?0.10), and then decrease with increasing Sm-CoMn content (0.12?≤?x?≤?0.36, 0.10?≤?y?≤?0.30), while for the hexaferrites with Sm (x?≥?0.36) and CoMn (y?≥?0.30), with increasing Sm-CoMn content, Hcj increases and Hcb decreases.  相似文献
