1‐Acetyl‐3′‐(4‐bromophenyl)‐3′‐chlorospiro[3H‐indole‐3,2′‐oxetan]‐2(1H)‐one

In the title compound, C₁₈H₁₃BrClNO₃, the heterocyclic ring of the indole is distorted from planarity towards an envelope conformation. The orientations of the indole, oxetane, chloro and bromo­phenyl substituents are conditioned by the sp³ states of the spiro‐junction and the Cl‐attached C atoms.     

Isomerisation in the chemistry of platinacyclobutane complexes

The platinacyclobutane complexes PtCl₂L₂(C₃H₅Me)], L  pyridine, CD₃CN, or tetrahydrofuran, exist as mixtures of isomers containing P$\text{tCH}{}_2\text{CHMeC}$H₂ or P$\text{tCHMeCH}{}_2\text{CH}{}_2$ groups in rapid equilibrium. Decomposition occurs in some cases to give [PtCl₂L(CH₃CH₂CHCH₂)]. Stereospecific skeletal isomerisation also occurs in metallocyclobutanes containing the groups P$\text{tCHRCHRC}$H₂  P$\text{tCHRCH}{}_2\text{C}$HR, when R  aryl further decomposition gives ν-allylplatinum complexes.     

Di‐2‐pyridyl ketone N4,N4‐(butane‐1,4‐diyl)thiosemicarbazone

The title compound, C₁₆H₁₇N₅S, is in the thione form and crystallizes with two independent mol­ecules in the asymmetric unit. In both mol­ecules, the penta­methyl­ene­imine five‐membered ring adopts an envelope conformation, and in one of the molecules this ring shows positional disorder. The thione S and hydrazine N atoms are in the Z configuration with respect to the C—N bond.     

Bis­(O,O′‐di‐p‐tolyldithiophosphato‐S,S′)(1,10‐phenanthroline‐N,N′)nickel(II)

The title coordination complex, [Ni(C₁₄H₁₄O₂PS₂)₂(C₁₂H₈N₂)] or [Ni(pMePh‐dtp)₂(phen)] (phen is 1,10‐phenanthroline; dtp is di­aryl­di­thio­phosphate), has a non‐crystallographic twofold axis of symmetry through the Ni atom and the phen moiety. Two O,O‐di‐p‐tolyl­di­thio­phosphate (dtp) ions act as bidentate ligands. The central metal atom is coordinated by four S atoms from two dtp groups and two N atoms from the phen ligand. The title compound displays distorted octahedral geometry around the central Ni atom.     

Alkaloids of and ( )

and provided a variety of and alkaloids as well as novel ring-opened indole alkaloids including leuconolam (6), rhazinilam (8) and 5,21-dihydrorhazinilam (9). Facile acid and base reactions of leuconolam lead to ring reclosure products. Physical and spectral data of norfluorocurarine ( ), norfluorocurarine-N_b-oxide ( ), eburnamine (2), kopsinine (5) and epileuconolam (7) as well as some derivatives of leuconolam are also provided.     

N‐(Ferrocenecarbonyl)‐N′‐(quinolin‐8‐yl)thio­urea

In the title compound, [Fe(C₅H₅)(C₁₆H₁₂N₃OS)], the 8‐am­inoquinoline and acyl­thio­urea moieties are almost planar. There are two perpendicular arrangements of the mol­ecules in the crystal with slightly different conformations. The two cyclo­penta­dienyl rings in each mol­ecule are parallel and eclipsed.
