Hydrolysis of 7,7-Substituted Derivatives of 3-tert-Butyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-thiazolo-[3,2-a][1,3,5]triazin-6(7H)-one

Alkaline hydrolysis of 3-tert-butyl-7,7-bis(hydroxymethyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-thiazolo[3,2-a][1,3,5]-triazin-6(7H)-one can occur in three directions: with cleavage of the tetrahydrotriazine ring, with cleavage of the thiazolidine ring, and also with opening of both rings. Depending on the process conditions, either the hydrolysis product corresponding to the first direction or the hydrolytic decomposition products corresponding to the second and third directions can be obtained in preparative quantities. Hydrolysis of 3,3′-di-tert-butyl-3′,4′-dihydro-2′ H-spiro[(perhydro-1,3-oxazine)-5,7′-thiazolo[3,2-a][1,3,5]triazin]-6′-one in (NH₄)₂CO₃ solution occurs in two steps: in the first step, cleavage of the tetrahydrotriazine ring occurs; and in the second step, opening of the perhydrooxazine ring occurs. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 7, pp. 1089–1097, July, 2005.     

Study of the structure of (carbamimidoylsulfanyl)acetic (“pseudothiohydantoic”) acid by XRD and PM6 methods

It was shown by the method of powder X-ray diffraction analysis that in the crystalline state the product of the reaction of thiourea with chloroacetic acid in water, (carbamimidoylsulfanyl)acetic acid, existed in the zwitter-ion tautomeric form. The structure consists of virtually planar infi nite layers normal to the c axis of the unit cell which are bound by van der Waals interactions. The layers are formed by infi nite rows elongated along the b axis of the unit cell consisting of materially planar zwitter-ionic molecules linked by strong bifurcated hydrogen bonds. The results of quantum-chemical calculations by PM6 method are in agreement with the XRD results: whereas an isolated molecule exists in nonzwitter-ionic tautomeric form, in the crystal only the zwitterionic tautomer is present.     

Microwave synthesis of the TOTO and BOBO fluorescent probes

A series of bis-intercalators of the TOTO and BOBO families (symmetric structures each containing two molecular fragments of nonsymmetric cyanine dyes, viz., Thiazole orange (TO) or Benzothiazole orange (BO)) were synthesized in high yields by the reactions of 1,1′-L-bis-(4-methylpyridinium) derivatives (L is the dicationic linker) with 3-methyl-2-(methylsulfanyl)-benzothiazolium iodide under microwave irradiation.     

Copper-catalyzed arylation of tetrazole-5-thiones upon convection heating and microwave activation conditions

The arylation of 1-phenyltetrazole-5-thione using a series of iodobenzene derivatives in the presence of cuprous chloride and a ligand such as ethylenediamine. It was shown that the use of microwave activation permitted shortening of the reaction time, increasing yields and simplification of the reaction products isolation.     

Modified fluororubbers based on SKF-26: Relaxation and mechanical properties

Samples of SKF-26 fluororubber modified by incorporating pendant methoxy groups into the macromolecular chain were studied by dielectric spectroscopy and dynamic mechanical analysis.     

Production of alkali salts of 2-phenylimino-4-triazolidinone

Investigation of the reactivities and tautomerism of azolidines. 40. 2-iminothiazolidin-4-one in the mannich reaction

It is shown that the aminomethylation of 2-iminothiazolidin-4-one and its 5-methyl and 5-arylidene derivatives in an alcohol medium leads to the formation of 6-oxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydrothiazolo [3,2-a]-1,3,5-triazines. Aminomethylation of Thiourea with Formaldehyde and Cyclic Amines

Three-component condensation of thiourea with equimolar amounts of formaldehyde and morpholine afforded N-(morpholin-4-ylmethyl) derivative, whereas analogous reaction with 2 equiv of formaldehyde and amine gave symmetrical N,N′-bis(morpholin-4-ylmethyl)thiourea. In the condensation of thiourea with piperidine and formaldehyde, only symmetrical N,N′-bis(piperidin-1-ylmethyl)thiourea was isolated, regardless of the reactant ratio.
