We investigated characteristics of the soft X-ray emission in the wavelength range of 6–16 nm using various rare-gas cryogenic solid targets irradiated with a nanosecond laser pulse. Suprathermal ions having a maximum velocity of the order of 107 cm/s were detected for three rare-gas targets (Ar, Kr, and Xe). The spatial distributions of the soft X-rays and the suprathermal ions were measured for Xe cryogenic solid targets and found to vary as cos2 and cos5, respectively, where is the angle to the target normal. By integrating the observed cos2 spatial distribution, the conversion efficiency of the soft X-ray emission in the wavelength range from 6 to 16 nm was evaluated to be 0.2%/pulse. This article presents an arithmetic for the computation of Chebyshev models for factorable functions and an analysis of their convergence properties. Similar to Taylor models, Chebyshev models consist of a pair of a multivariate polynomial approximating the factorable function and an interval remainder term bounding the actual gap with this polynomial approximant. Propagation rules and local convergence bounds are established for the addition, multiplication and composition operations with Chebyshev models. The global convergence of this arithmetic as the polynomial expansion order increases is also discussed. A generic implementation of Chebyshev model arithmetic is available in the library MC++. It is shown through several numerical case studies that Chebyshev models provide tighter bounds than their Taylor model counterparts, but this comes at the price of extra computational burden.  相似文献

We demonstrate the applicability of a Li-based liquid jet as a regenerative source of narrow-band extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) emission at 13.5 nm. It was found that a conventionally used single laser pulse did not produce optimum plasma conditions for a low-Z target, like Li. It was shown that deployment of dual nano-second laser pulses enhanced the in-band EUV conversion efficiency (CE) at 13.5 nm in 2 sr by three times its value using a single laser pulse. Dependence of the emission spectra and EUV CE on the delay time between dual laser pulses revealed that the emission at 13.5 nm from Li ions was preferably enhanced at a lower plasma temperature compared to that at 13.0 nm from oxygen ions.  相似文献
