Design of silver nanoparticles containing poly(N-isopropylarclamide) (PNIPAAm) hydrogels were prepared by free-radical polymerization of N-isopropylarclamide as an environmentally sensitive monomer and MBA as a crosslinker in an aqueous medium. The embedded silver nanocomposite hydrogels (AgNCH) structure were characterized by, UV-Vis, FTIR, DLS, TEM and X-ray analysis. Curcumin loading and release characteristics were performed for PNIPAAm hydrogel, silver ions loaded hydrogels as well as silver nanocomposite hydrogels. These curcumin loaded silver nanocomposite hydrogels exhibit excellent antibacterial action on Escherichia coli (E. coli). Therefore, the present study clearly provides novel antimicrobial hydrogels which are potentially useful in biomedical applications.  相似文献

The efficient, 12–14 step (LLS) total synthesis of (?)‐halenaquinone has been achieved. Key steps in the synthetic sequence include: (a) proline sulfonamide‐catalyzed, Yamada–Otani reaction to establish the C6 all‐carbon quaternary stereocenter, (b) multiple, novel palladium‐mediated oxidative cyclizations to introduce the furan moiety, and (c) oxidative Bergman cyclization to form the final quinone ring.  相似文献

The nanocrystalline ZnO thin films were deposited by pulsed laser deposition on quartz and i-Si (100) substrates at different substrate temperatures (473 K–873 K) and at different mixed partial pressures (0.05, 0.01, and 0.5 mbar) of Ar+O2. The structural studies from XRD spectra reveals that the films deposited at 0.05 mbar and at lower substrate temperatures were c-axis oriented with predominant (002) crystallographic orientation. At 873 K along with (002) orientation, additional crystallographic orientations were also observed in case of films deposited at 0.01 and 0.5 mbar pressures. The composition of Zinc and Oxygen in ZnO films from EDAX reveals that the films deposited at lower partial pressures were have high at.% of O2 whereas higher partial pressures and substrate temperatures had high at.% Zn. The surface microstructure of the films show that the films deposited at lower partial pressures (0.05 mbar ) and at lower substrate temperatures (473 K) were found to have nanoparticles of size 15 nm where as films deposited at 873 K have nanorods. The length of these nanorods increases with increasing Ar+O2 partial pressure to 0.5 mbar. The optical energy gap of the film deposited at lower partial pressure and substrate temperature was 3.3 eV and decrease with the increase of substrate temperatures. The films deposited at 0.5 mbar and at 873 K emitted an intense luminescence at a wavelength of 390 nm. The measured thickness of deposited films by spectroscopic ellipsometry is around 456 nm.  相似文献

Malvaceae and Brassicaceae family crops are economically important; however, their production has been markedly decreased in recent years due to various plant pests. Hence, the search for novel classes of efficient biological approaches continues due to unavailability of precise pesticides. The present study was designed to synthesize, characterize and evaluate the efficacy of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) obtained using stem extract of Gossypium hirsutum (cotton plant) against plant pathogens Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. malvacearum and Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris. Biosynthesized AgNPs were characterized using UV–visible spectrophotometry, Dynamic Light Scattering, Scanning Electron Microscopy combined with energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The synthesized AgNPs were spherical in shape with size ranging from 20 to 100 nm. The characterized AgNPs were investigated for their efficacy against bacterial plant pathogens using the paper disc method. In vitro studies with two concentrations of AgNPs (50 and 100 μg mL?1) showed zone of inhibition 11.0 ± 1.0 and 12.3 ± 0.5 mm for X. axonopodis pv. malvacearum and 9.7 ± 0.6 and 15.33 ± 1.0 mm for X. campestris pv. campestris. Furthermore, the AgNPs exhibited strong antioxidant activity, and a phytotoxicity study on Vigna unguiculata (cowpea plant) showed no toxicity. Overall, the findings suggest that G. hirsutum stem extract could be efficiently used in the synthesis of AgNPs and showed antimicrobial activity against plant pathogens. Hence, the synthesized nanoparticles could be used to combat plant pathogens in the agriculture sector.  相似文献

The recovery and recrystallisation behaviours of cold rolled IF steel have been investigated by destructive (optical microscopy and hardness) and non-destructive electromagnetic sensor, (which allows direct measurement of strip samples with no surface preparation) techniques. The onset and completion of recrystallisation are clearly monitored through destructive techniques of optical microscopy and hardness measurements. The nucleation of new recrystallised grains is observed in the sample annealed at 600 °C/15 min, while completion of recrystallisation takes place at 700 °C/15 min. The destructive techniques are not very accurate in monitoring recovery, for example, changes in hardness of <20% are seen. In contrast, the magnetic properties of annealed steel show the onsets of both recovery and recrystallisation, with recovery accounting for ≈60% change in the coercivity value. Therefore, the measurement of magnetic softening through an electromagnetic sensor acts a crucial role for understanding recovery and recrystallisation behaviours of steels during industrial processing. The present investigation is aimed not only for controlling product quality but also saving characterisation time through off line monitoring during steel processing at industry.  相似文献
