In this paper, several methods of hydrophobization of cotton fabrics using the thio-ene click reaction were compared. Durable, superhydrophobic textiles were obtained in an easy way. Various variants of functionalized silsesquioxanes were used for the hydrophobization of fabrics. The synthesis of bifunctional silsesquioxanes (RSiMe2O)4(ViSiMe2O)4Si8O12 and (RSiMe2O)4(R’SiMe2O)4Si8O12 were performed via hydrothiolation of silsesquioxane derivative (ViSiMe2O)8Si8O12. Alkoxysilyl, alkyl and fluoroalkyl moieties were introduced as functional groups. Samples were prepared using four methods, differing in the modification method and the number of stages. During the research, fabrics were modified via (a) the dip-coating process, (b) carrying out thiol-ene click reactions directly on the surface of the fabric and (c) using both of these methods. The hydrophobicity of the fabric was evaluated by measuring the Water contact angle (WCA). The obtained samples were also examined using infrared analysis (FT-IR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Elemental analysis (SEM–EDS). All analyses were performed before and after the washing process in order to verify the stability of the performed modifications.

Biochemical disturbances of the reactive oxygen species metabolism revealed in subjects with Down's syndrome (DS), and the findings indicating that heat-induced cell alterations have been, at least, partly mediated by reactive oxygen species, made the elucidation of the response of trisomic cells to elevated temperatures of special interest. Kinetic analysis of cell-survival curves, accompanied by the flow cytometry and the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examinations, and their relationship with the cell membrane fluidity, were undertaken. At each temperature (48-54 degrees C), Dq parameters, representing the ability to accumulate sublethal damages, were similar for both cell groups. D0 parameters (inverse leakage rates; D0 = 1/k) were greater for DS cells at each temperature below 54 degrees C. The haemolysis sensitivity ratio (HSR) showed that DS erythrocytes were, in average, 1.60 times more resistant to heat injury than those from normal subjects. Activation energies of haemolysis, calculated according to the Arrhenius equation, were similar both for normal (290.8 +/- 6.5 [kJ/mol]) and DS erythrocytes (288.0 +/- 5.5 [kJ/mol]). Flow cytometry studies showed that the scattering properties of intact DS erythrocytes (reflecting size, volume, shape and cell membrane surface morphology) were different than those of normal cells. Scanning electron micrographs and scattering diagrams obtained for cells submitted to heat stress (51 degrees C) confirmed that DS erythrocytes were more resistant, to a certain extent, to heat-induced disruption than normal cells. The steady-state fluorescence anisotropy of TMA-DPH (1-(4-trimethyl-ammoniumphenyl)-6-phenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene) showed that untreated DS erythrocytes had substantially lower fluidity (r = 0.356 +/- 0.008) of the outer monolayer of cell membranes as compared to normal cells (r = 0.324 +/- 0.011). The increase of the cell membrane fluidity during exposure to heat was observed. The greatest elevation of cell membrane fluidity occurred during the preleakage period, immediately upon the heat treatment and was considered as a rate-limiting step of heat-induced haemolysis.  相似文献

Despite the fact that phytochemicals of Cornaceae species have long been discussed as possible auxiliary agents in contemporary treatment, the insights on their properties remain relatively scarce. This study focuses on Cornus mas L. (Cornelian cherry), the extracts of which are reported to exert a pleiotropic effect shown in both in vivo and in vitro studies. This study aimed to explore the cytotoxic effect of extracts from fruits of red (Cornus mas L. ‘Podolski’) and yellow (Cornus mas L. ‘Yantarnyi’ and ‘Flava’) Cornelian cherries on two melanoma cell lines (A375 and MeWo). The extracts were characterized in the context of the concentration of bioactive compounds of antioxidative properties. Cytotoxicity was investigated with the use of the following two assays: SRB and MTT. An additional, alternative protocol for the SRB assay was used in this study so as to account for possible bias. Cytotoxicity was assessed as a difference in the whole time series of cell viability, instead of analyzing differences in raw values (often found in the literature). Both extracts from Cornus mas L. induced cytotoxicity in both A375 and MeWo cell lines, although the response of these cells was different. Moreover, based on this study, there is no evidence for claiming a different magnitude of cytotoxicity between these two extracts.  相似文献

A counterintuitive unidirectional (say counterclockwise) motion of a toy rattleback takes place when it is started by tapping it at a long side or by spinning it slowly in the clockwise sense of rotation. We study the motion of a toy rattleback having an ellipsoidal-shaped bottom by using frictionless Newton equations of motion of a rigid body rolling without sliding in a plane. We simulate these equations for tapping and spinning initial conditions to see the contact trajectory, the force arm and the reaction force responsible for torque turning the rattleback in the counterclockwise sense of rotation. Long time behavior of such a rattleback is, however, quasi-periodic and a rattleback starting with small transversal oscillations turns in the clockwise direction.  相似文献

Paper is devoted to the solvability analysis of variational equations obtained by linearization of the Euler-Poisson equations for the symmetric rigid body with a fixed point on the equatorial plain. In this case Euler-Poisson equations have two pendulum like particular solutions. Symmetric heavy top is integrable only in four famous cases. In this paper is shown that a family of cases can be distinguished such that Euler-Poisson equations are not integrable but variational equations along particular solutions are solvable. The connection of this result with analysis made in XIX century by R. Liouville is also discussed.  相似文献

The one-dimensional Dirac equation with a rational potential is reducible to an ordinary differential equation with a Riccati-like coefficient. Its integrability can be studied with the help of differential Galois theory, although the results have to be stated with recursive relations, because in general the equation is of Heun type. The inverse problem of finding integrable rational potentials based on the properties of the singular points is also presented; in particular, a general class of integrable potentials leading to the Whittaker equation is found.  相似文献
