Alkylation of narrow rim calix[4]arenes in a DMSO-NaOH medium

An effective method of 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,26-dialkoxy-27,28-dihydroxy-calix[4]arenes and 25,26,27,28-tetraalkoxycalix[4]arenes synthesis by alkylation of tetrahydroxycalix[4]arenes in a DMSO-NaOH medium was developed.     

Preparative synthesis of para-tert-butylcalix[4]arene monoalkyl ethers

A new simple method of synthesis of monoalkoxy-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes by the selective dealkylation of 25,26-dialkoxy-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes with anhydrous aluminum chloride was developed.     

Reaction of N-(Trichloroacetyl)trichloroacetimidoyl Chloride with Phosphites

N-(Trichloroacetyl)trichloroacetylimidoyl chloride reacts with trialkyl phosphites with substitution of the imidoyl chlorine atom and formation of C-phosphorylated heterodienes. The reaction with triphenyl phosphite or o-phenylene diethylphosphoroamidite proceeds as [4+1]-cycloaddition to give mono- or spirocyclic oxazaphospholines with the five-coordinate phosphorus atom. Dialkyl or diphenyl hydrogen phosphites add across the C = N bond of imidoyl chloride to give labile N-(-phosphorylated) trichloroacetamides.
