The reactions of Me(3)SiN=P(OR")RR'(R" = Ph, CH(2)CF(3); R, R' = Me, Ph) with alcohols were investigated. With nonequivalent amounts of CF(3)CH(2)OH, the reactions produced high yields of the cyclic phosphazene (Me(2)PN)(3) and both the cis and trans isomers of nongeminally substituted [(Ph)(Me)PN](3). The isomers of this new cyclic phosphazene were separated by column chromatography and characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystallography. Crystals of the cis isomer 6a have a monoclinic crystal system, while the trans isomer 6b has a triclinic crystal system with two different molecules in an asymmetric unit. The bond lengths and bond angles are very similar to those of the simpler cyclic trimers (Me(2)PN)(3) and (Ph(2)PN)(3.) A likely pathway for the formation of these compounds is discussed.  相似文献

Heating pure samples of the cyclic phosphazenes, cis- or trans-[Me(Ph)PN](3), yielded mixtures of the cis and trans isomers of the cyclic phosphazene trimers, [Me(Ph)PN](3), and all four geometric isomers of the tetramers, [Me(Ph)PN](4). Varying the temperature and heating times changes the ratio of these components. Following the thermolysis by NMR spectroscopy indicated that only a mixture of the two isomeric trimers occurred initially. Longer heating times produced mixtures of the isomers of the tetramer. Column chromatography and solubility differences were used to separate each of the isomers of the tetramer. Spectroscopic and X-ray crystallographic studies suggest that the four different geometrical isomers of the tetramer can be described as cone, partial cone, 1,2-alternate, and 1,3-alternate by analogy to calix[4]arene.  相似文献

A new type of heteroleptic dirhodium complex cis-[Rh(2)(mu-O2CCH3)2-(bpy)(dppz)]2+ (3) was synthesized and its potential as a photodynamic therapy (PDT) agent was investigated. Although 27% hypochromicity of the absorption of 3 in the near-UV and visible regions is observed in the presence of duplex DNA, relative viscosity measurements reveal that the complex does not intercalate between the DNA bases. The DNA photocleavage with visible light by 3 proceeds via both oxygen dependent and independent mechanisms, and it is more efficient than that of related complexes. The increase in the cytotoxicity of 3 towards human skin cells is similar to that of hematoporphyrin, a key ingredient in a PDT drug currently in use. This feature makes this complex a useful candidate for further PDT studies.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction data from single crystals of the trimethylamine complexes of the three boron halides, BCl3, BBr3, and BI3, lead to aP21/m monoclinic cell containing two molecules for each complex. The unit cell dimensions area = 6·68(1),b = 10·247(3),c = 6·502(6) Å, =116·2(1)° (chloro);a = 6·86(1),b = 10·612(4),c = 6·737(6) Å, = 115·8(1)° (bromo);a = 6·92(2),b = 10·86(1),c = 7·147(6) Å, = 93·9(1)° (iodo). The structures were solved by three-dimensional sharpened Patterson functions and show only the chloro and bromo compounds to be isomorphous. Refinement of 662,718 and 954 observed reflexions for the chloro, bromo and iodo complexes, respectively, using anisotropic thermal parameters yielded conventionalR factors of 0·045, 0·087 and 0·054.The molecules are shown to possess a B—N dative bond, a staggered conformation, and effective 3m (C 3v) symmetry. Average C—N bond lengths are 1·52(1) Å for all three complexes. Boronhalogen bond lengths average 1·864(4), 2·04(2) and 2·28(2) Å, while B—N bond distances are 1·609(6), 1·60(2) and 1·58(3) Å, respectively, for the chloro through iodo compounds. Bond angles are approximately tetrahedral with the C—N—C angle decreasing by several degrees in the Cl Br I series.Based in part on a dissertation submitted by Patty H. The synthesis, characterization, electrochemical, photophysical, and photochemical properties of two hexanuclear mixed-valence compounds are reported. Each supramolecular species consists of two cyano-bridged [(NC)(5)Fe(II)-CN-Pt(IV)(NH(3))(3)L-NC-Fe(II)(CN)(5)] triads that are linked to each other through a Pt(IV)-L-Pt(IV) bridge, where L = 4,4'-dipyridyl (bpy) or 3,3'-dimethyl-4,4'-dipyridyl (dmb). The major difference between the two compounds is the electronic nature of the bridging ligand between the two Pt atoms. Both species exhibit a broad Fe(II) --> Pt(IV) intervalent (IT) absorption band at 421 nm with an oscillator strength that is approximately four times that for [(NC)(5)Fe(II)-CN-Pt(IV)(NH(3))(5)] and twice that for [(NC)(5)Fe(II)-CN-Pt(IV)(NH(3))(4)-NC-Fe(II)(CN)(5)].(4-) When L = bpy, the resonance Raman spectrum obtained by irradiating the IT band at 488 nm exhibits several dipyridyl ring modes at 1604, 1291, and 1234 cm(-1) which are not present in the spectrum when L = dmb. In addition, femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy performed at 400 nm yields a transient bleach of the IT absorption band with a single exponential decay of 3.5 ps for L = bpy, compared with only 1.8 ps for L = dmb and 2.1 ps for [(NC)(5)Fe(II)-CN-Pt(IV)(NH(3))(4)-NC-Fe(II)(CN)(5)].(4-) Last, prolonged irradiation of the complexes at 488 nm leads to the formation of 4 equiv of ferricyanide with a quantum efficiency of 0.0014 for L = bpy and 0.0011 for L = dmb. The transient absorption, resonance Raman, and photochemical data suggest that the degree of excited electronic coupling in these compounds is tunable by changing the electronic nature of the Pt-L-Pt bridging ligand.  相似文献

The complex cis-[Rh2(mu-O2CCH3)2(CH3CN)6]2+ (1) exchanges the two axial CH3CN ligands for solvent molecules in water to yield cis-[Rh2(mu-O2CCH3)2(CH3CN)4(H2O)2]2+ (2). Photolysis of 2 in H2O results in the photoaquation of two equatorial acetonitrile ligands to yield [Rh2(mu-O2CCH3)2(CH3CN)2(H2O)4]2+ (3), which is able to covalently bind to free 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and 9-ethylguanine in solution, as well as double-stranded DNA (lambdairr >/= 455 nm). Complex 2 exhibits 20-fold lower cytotoxicity towards human skin cells than hematoporphyrin in the dark, and its toxicity increases by a factor of 34 when irradiated with visible light (400-700 nm, 30 min). This increase in cytotoxicity by 2 upon irradiation is approximately 7 times greater than that measured for hematoporphyrin. These properties make 2 a promising photo-cisplatin analog and a potential agent for photodynamic therapy. To our knowledge, 2 is the first metal-metal bonded complex to bind to DNA upon irradiation with visible light.  相似文献

A comprehensive study of the photophysical properties of chlorophyll (Chl) d in 1:40 acetonitrile-methanol solution is performed over the temperature range 170-295 K. From comparison of absorption and emission spectra, time-dependent density-functional calculations and homologies with those of Chl a, we assign the key features of the absorption and fluorescence spectra. Possible photophysical energy relaxation mechanisms are summarized, and thermal equilibration processes are studied in detail by monitoring the observed emission profiles and quantum yields as a function of excitation energy. In particular, we concentrate on emission subsequent to excitation in the extreme far-red tail of the Qy absorption spectrum, with this emission partitioned into contributions from hot-band absorptions as well as uphill energy transfer processes that occur subsequent to absorption. No unusual photophysical processes are detected for Chl d; it appears that all intramolecular relaxation processes reach thermal equilibration on shorter timescales than the fluorescence lifetime even at 170 K. The results from these studies are used to reinterpret a previous study of photochemical processes observed in intact cells and their acetone extracts of the photosynthetic system of Acaryochloris marina. In the study of Mimuro et al., light absorbed by Chl d at 736 nm is found to give rise to emission by another species, believed to also be Chl d, at 703 nm; this uphill energy transfer process is easily rationalized in terms of the thermal equilibration processes that we deduced for Chl d. However, no evidence is found in the experimental results of Mimuro et al. to support claims that (nonequilibrium) uphill energy transfer is additionally observed to Chl a species that emit at 670-680 nm. This finding is relevant to broader issues concerning the nature of the special pair in photosystem II of A. marina because suggestions that it is comprised of Chl a can only be correct if nonthermal uphill energy transfer processes from Chl d are operative.  相似文献

A novel Ru(II) complex possessing two sequentially linked viologen units, Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+), was synthesized and characterized. Upon excitation of the Ru(II) unit (lambda(exc) = 532 nm, fwhm approximately 10 ns), a long-lived charge-separated (CS) state is observed (tau = 1.7 micros) by transient absorption spectroscopy. Unlike Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), which cleaves DNA upon photolysis through the formation of reactive oxygen species, such as (1)O(2) and O(2)(-), the photocleavage of plasmid DNA by Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+) is observed both in air and under N(2) atmosphere (lambda(irr) > 395 nm).  相似文献

We combine Peirce’s rule, case, and result with Toulmin’s data, claim, and warrant to differentiate between deductive, inductive, abductive, and analogical reasoning within collective argumentation. In this theoretical article, we illustrate these kinds of reasoning in episodes of collective argumentation using examples from one teacher’s practice. Examining different kinds of reasoning in collective argumentation can inform how students engage in generating and examining hypotheses using inductive and abductive reasoning and move toward the deductive reasoning required for proof. Mathematics educators can build on their understanding of these kinds of reasoning to support students in reasoning in productive ways.  相似文献
