Some polishing experiments have been carried out on copper anodes in a hyperbolic cell designed by Gilmont and Walton, using orthophosphoric acid as the electrolyte. The results obtained have been compared to those obtained in similar experiments in a Hull cell. It has been found that very similar bands of different reflectivity and polishes are found to form in both the cells. These bands shift with time and a study of such displacements has been made. The results are briefly discussed. 相似文献

Experimental investigations on new materials for application as electrolyte in electrolyte supported planar Intermediate Temperature
Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (ITSOFC) operating below 800 °C is in progress at our laboratory. Sr and Mg doped Lanthanum gallate
(LSGM) powder was prepared by glycine — nitrate combustion method. The prepared LSGM powder is relatively finer than that
prepared through other techniques such as solid-state reaction. The measurements comprising XRD, particle size, density, TGA/DTA
were made. Thin sections of circular pellets were fabricated and annealed at different temperatures ranging between 1000 and
1300 °C. The sintering behaviour of LSGM was investigated to obtain information on the densification factor, relative percentage
shrinkage/expansion in volume, while annealing and the resulting apparent porosity values. Bismuth oxide is found to be an
effective sintering aid in general. So the effect of bismuth oxide addition on LSGM was investigated through sintering studies,
XRD, TGA/DTA, SEM and conductivity measurements. The results obtained on LSGM with and without bismuth oxide addition are
discussed with respect to the requirement of an electrolyte for ITSOFC applications.

The doped perovskite oxides such as La0.65Sr0.30MnO3-δ (LSM), La0.70Sr0.30CoO3-δ (LSC), La0.65Sr0.30FeO3-δ (LSF), La0.65Sr0.30NiO3-δ (LSN) and La0.60Sr0.40Co0.20Fe0.80O3-δ (LSCF) are proposed as alternate cathode materials for solid oxide fuel cells working at reduced temperature (< 1073 K). The critical requirement for their applicability is their chemical compatibility in conjunction with an alternate solid electrolyte, La0.9Sr0.1Ga0.8Mg0.2O3-δ (LSGM) without any new phase formation. To understand the chemical reactivity between these two components, thoroughly mixed different cathode and LSGM electrolyte (1:1 by wt.) powders were pressed as circular components and subjected to annealing at 1573 K for 3 h in air. XRD and SEM were used for the characterization of the annealed samples. XRD measurements revealed that no new secondary phases were formed in LSM, LSC, and LSF with LSGM mixtures whereas LSN and LSCF with LSGM resulted in the formation of new secondary phases after high temperature treatment. The sintering shrinkage for all the components (cathode + electrolyte mixture) was also estimated. For comparison of data, the individual powders (cathode/electrolyte) were also compacted and studied in the same manner. The obtained results are discussed keeping in view the requirements that the candidate cathode material must meet out with respect to its chemical compatibility to qualify for the LSGM based ITSOFC systems at 1073 K. 相似文献

Cinnamic acids upon irradiation in solution undergo geometric isomerization while dimerizing to different dimers in the crystalline state. Controlling the nature of the dimer formed upon irradiation remains a challenging task. We have aligned a variety of cinnamic acid molecules in a head-head fashion employing cucurbit[8]uril, a weakly water soluble host as a template. The water solubility of cucurbit[8]uril is enhanced by inclusion of water soluble cinnamic acids and positions the olefins in an arrangement that favors the formation of syn head-head cyclobutanes in near quantitative yields. This methodology works in both solid state as well as in aqueous solution. Irradiation of cinnamic acid complexes with gamma-cyclodextrin has been carried out as a comparison. We find that while cucurbit[8]uril functions well both in solid state and aqueous solution, cyclodextrin works best as solid complexes only. Consistent with the postulated requirement of large cavities for templating olefins to dimerization, irradiation of complexes of cinnamic acid with cucurbit[7]uril resulted in only the corresponding cis isomers. 相似文献

High-spin states in 135Nd were populated with the 110Pd(30Si,5n)135Nd reaction at a 30Si bombarding energy of 133 MeV. Two DeltaI=1 bands with close excitation energies and the same parity were observed. These bands are directly linked by DeltaI=1 and DeltaI=2 transitions. The chiral nature of these two bands is confirmed by comparison with three-dimensional tilted axis cranking calculations. This is the first observation of a three-quasiparticle chiral structure and establishes the primarily geometric nature of this phenomenon. 相似文献
