A five-coordinate complex of copper chloride with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole

A complex of Cu(II) chloride with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (AET) was prepared, and its structure was studied by IR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex has the composition CuCl₂(AET)₄. The coordination sphere of the copper atom includes four molecules of the heterocyclic ligand coordinated via N atoms of thiadiazole rings and one of Cl^? anions; the second Cl^? anion is in the outer sphere.     

Synthesis and crystal structure of nickel(II) complex based on 2-trifluoroacetylcycloalkanone benzoylhydrazones

The reaction of ethanol solutions of benzoylhydrazones of 2-trifluoroacetylcycloalkanones (H₂L) with a solution of nickel(II) acetate in aqueous ammonia in 1 : 1 ratio gave complexes NiL · NH₃ with square structure. The composition and structure of the complexes were determined by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis.     

Copper(II) complexes based on 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone aroyl hydrazones: Synthesis,spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis

Copper(II) complexes CuL ? NH₃ are synthesized by the interaction of ethanol solutions of parasubstituted 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetylmethane aroyl hydrazones (H₂L¹–H₂L⁴) and an aqueous-ammonia solution of copper(II) acetate in an equimolar ratio. The copper(II) complexes are studied by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and EPR spectroscopy. Single crystals of CuL³ ? NH₃ are grown from 1-(2-thenoyl)- 3,3,3-trifluoroacetone para-methylbenzoyl hydrazone and studied using X-ray diffraction analysis (CIF file CCDC 1045841).     

Photoinduced optical activity of C<Subscript>70</Subscript> fullerene in organic solvents

We have experimentally studied for the first time the effect of photoinduced rotation of the plane of polarization for pulsed laser radiation in solutions of C₇₀ fullerene in organic solvents and their mixtures. We have shown that the effect is observed for elliptical polarization of the laser radiation and is absent for linear polarization. We present the results of a study of the nonlinear optical characteristics of the C₇₀ solutions. We discuss the physical mechanisms by which nonlinear gyrotropy is induced in solutions. Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 2-Aminoacetyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole

2-Aminoacetyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole was synthesized, and its structure was studied. In crystal, the thiadiazole molecules form hydrogen-bonded endless one-dimensional chains related by the glide reflection plane.     

Tetragonal-pyramidal complex of copper nitrate with 2-Amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole

A complex compound of Cu(II) nitrate with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole was synthesized and its structure was studied by the methods of IR spectroscopy and X-ray crystal analysis. The complex has the composition Cu(NO₃)₂(2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole)₄ with four molecules of the heterocyclic ligand (coordination through nitrogen atoms of thiadiazole rings) and one of nitrate ions (the other is replaced in the second sphere) entering into the coordination sphere of the complex polyhedron. The internal coordination sphere of the complex has the form of a tetragonal pyramid with 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole ligands in the sites of its base and the oxygen atom of the nitrate ion in a slightly distorted vertex of the pyramid.     

Neutron diffraction study of the formation of ordered antiphase domains in cubic titanium carbide TiC0.60

A series of superstructural reflections (described within the sp. gr. Fd3m) are found to be split into three symmetric parts in the neutron powder diffraction pattern of titanium carbide TiC_0.60 annealed at a temperature of 600°C. No splitting of superstructural reflections is observed in the neutron diffraction pattern of TiC_0.60 annealed at relatively high temperatures (780°C). This phenomenon can be explained by that fact that the ordering of carbon atoms at relatively high temperatures (780°C) is accompanied by the formation of randomly oriented rather large antiphase domains (APDs) (450 Å). At relatively low temperatures (600°C), stacking faults arise in the arrangement of partially ordered carbon atoms. In this case, relatively small ordered APDs (290 Å) are formed, along with disordered ones.     

Coordination compounds of some metals with N,N′-Bis(m-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)urea

N,N′-bis(m-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)urea and its complex compounds with cooper, zinc and cadmium were syntesized. The structure of N,N′-bis(m-ethoxycarbonylphenyl)urea was investigated by XRD method. Ligand coordination process was determined. Some factors affecting the donor ability of the nitrogen and oxygen atoms in ligand molecule were discussed.     

<Superscript>1</Superscript>H NMR spectra and crystal structure of the nickel(II) complex with ethyl 5,5-dimethyl-2,4-dioxohexanoate aroylhydrazones

Nickel(II) complexes NiL ⁿ ? NH₃ (n = 1–5) with the products of condensation of ethyl 5,5-dimethyl-2,4-dioxohexanoate with aromatic acid hydrazides (H₂L¹–H₂L⁵) were synthesized. The complexes were studied by elemental analysis and IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopy. The structure of the complex NiL₁ ? NH₃ was determined by X-ray diffraction (CIF file CCDC no. 1057268).
