This paper reports the development of a methodology for the determination of arsenic in petroleum refinery aqueous streams containing large amounts of unknown volatile organic compounds, employing electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry with polarized Zeeman-effect background correction. In order to make the procedure applicable, the influence of chemical modification and the drying step was examined. Also, pyrolysis and atomization temperatures and the amount of nitric acid added to the sample were optimized using a multivariate approach based on Doehlert matrix. Obtained results indicate that, in this kind of sample, arsenic must be determined by standard addition procedure with a careful control of the drying step temperature and ramp pattern. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the procedure, a test was performed in six spiked samples of petroleum refinery aqueous streams and the relative errors verified in the analysis of such samples (added As between 12.5 and 190 μg l−1) ranged from −7.2 to +16.7%. The detection limit and the relative standard deviation were also calculated and the values are 68 pg and 7.5% (at 12.5 μg l−1 level), respectively.  相似文献

This article describes the development by response surface methodology (RSM) of a procedure for iron, zinc and manganese determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) in food samples after digestion employing a focussed microwave system. A Doehlert matrix was used to find optimal conditions for the procedure through response surface study. Three variables (irradiation power and time and composition of oxidant solution—HNO3 + H2O2) were regarded as factors in the optimization study. The working conditions were established as a compromise between optimum values found for each analyte taking into consideration the robustness of the procedure. These values were 12 min, 260 W and 42% (v/v) for irradiation time, irradiation power and percent of H2O2 in solution, respectively. The accuracy of the optimized procedure was evaluated by analysis of certified reference materials and by comparison with a well-established closed vessel microwave dissolution methodology.  相似文献

In this paper, flame atomic absorption spectrometry was used for the determination of silver in various materials. The proposed preconcentration method is based on the continuous precipitation of silver as p-dimethylaminobenzilidene-rhodanine (PDBR) complex and dissolution of the precipitate with potassium cyanide. EDTA was added to the sample solution to mask large concentrations of Fe(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), Co(II) and Al(III). An enhancement factor of 20 was obtained for a preconcentration time of 3 min, resulting in a sampling frequency of 16 h(-1). The detection limit (3sigma) in the sample solution was 5 ngml(-1). The relative standard deviation at 30 ngml(-1) level was 4.7%. Analytical results obtained for alloy, biological reference material and ore samples analyzed were in good agreement with the certified values and comparable to those obtained with other techniques.  相似文献

The genus Cedrela P. Browne, which belongs to the Meliaceae family, has eighteen species. Trees of this genus are of economic interest due to wood quality, as well as being the focus of studies because of relevant biologic activities as in other Meliaceae species. These activities are mainly related to limonoids, a characteristic class of compounds in this family. Therefore, the aim of this review is to perform a survey of the citations in the literature on the Cedrela genus species. Articles were found on quantitative and qualitative phytochemical studies of the Cedrela species, revealing the chemical compounds identified, such as aliphatics acid and alcohol, flavonoids, tocopherol, monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, cycloartanes, steroids, and limonoids. Although some activities were tested, the majority of studies focused on the insecticidal, antifeedant, or insect growth inhibitor activities of this genus. Nonetheless, the most promising activities were related to their antimalarial and antitripanocidal effects, although further investigations are still needed.  相似文献

An electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) with polarized Zeeman background correction was used for determining selenium in petroleum refinery aqueous streams containing large amounts of volatile unknown organic compounds. Some parameters that might affect the measurement were investigated such as the amount of matrix modifier added, the temperature program and the calibration mode employed. Obtained results indicate that, in this kind of sample, selenium must be determined by standard addition procedure with a careful control of the dry step temperature and ramp pattern. Also, the results show that 2.5 μg of Pd must be added as matrix modifier to stabilize the analyte in the range of 2-20 ng Se. In order to evaluate the accuracy of the procedure, selenium was determined in 18 samples by ETAAS and hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HGAAS) (as reference methodology).
