Some polishing experiments have been carried out on copper anodes in a hyperbolic cell designed by Gilmont and Walton, using orthophosphoric acid as the electrolyte. The results obtained have been compared to those obtained in similar experiments in a Hull cell. It has been found that very similar bands of different reflectivity and polishes are found to form in both the cells. These bands shift with time and a study of such displacements has been made. The results are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Piscirickettsia salmonis is a pathogenic bacteria known as the aetiological agent of the salmonid rickettsial syndrome and causes a high mortality in farmed salmonid fishes. Detection of P. salmonis in farmed fishes is based mainly on molecular biology and immunohistochemistry techniques. These techniques are in most of the cases expensive and time consuming. In the search of new alternatives to detect the presence of P. salmonis in salmonid fishes, this work proposed the use of MALDI‐TOF‐MS to compare serum protein profiles from Salmo salar fish, including experimentally infected and non‐infected fishes using principal component analysis (PCA). Samples were obtained from a controlled bioassay where S. salar was challenged with P. salmonis in a cohabitation model and classified according to the presence or absence of the bacteria by real time PCR analysis. MALDI spectra of the fish serum samples showed differences in its serum protein composition. These differences were corroborated with PCA analysis. The results demonstrated that the use of both MALDI‐TOF‐MS and PCA represents a useful tool to discriminate the fish status through the analysis of salmonid serum samples. New molecular structures consisting of a C3 star-shaped 1,3,5-benzene unit as a central core, and three pendant 2-phenyl-5-(di-, and/or tri-n-alkoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole arms, containing ester connecting groups, variable number and positions of linear alkoxy chains (2an, 2b10 and 2c10) were synthesised. The mesomorphic properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, polarised optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Compounds bearing nine peripheral n-decyloxy chains (2a10) and nine peripheral n-dodecyloxy chains (2a12) form an enantiotropic hexagonal columnar phase, whereas their homologue 2a14, bearing nine peripheral n-tetradecyloxy chains, does not show mesomorphic behaviour. Compound bearing six peripheral n-decyloxy chains, which are in the 3,4-positions of the terminal benzene rings (2c10) does not show mesomorphic properties, whereas its analogous compound 2b10, bearing six n-decyloxy chains in the 3,5-positions of the terminal benzene rings, is liquid. The electrochemical behaviour of the liquid crystalline compounds 2a10 and 2a12 was investigated by cyclic voltammetry which revealed the hole-blocker character of these compounds. The ultraviolet–visible absorption and emission properties of the compounds 2an, 2b10 and 2c10 have been investigated. Photophysical studies were carried out in solution and in film. In addition, solvatofluorochromism studies were performed with compound 2a12 as a representative member of the compounds of series 2.  相似文献

In this paper, we report for the first time finite size effects on Néel temperature (T N) of magnetoelectric BiFeO3 system. Novel wet chemical route has been developed to produce fine particles of BiFeO3 with controlled size and size distribution. Unlike other oxide systems, lattice volume contraction has been observed with decrease in particle size. The decrease in T N is co-related to unit cell volume contraction occurring with reduction in particle size.  相似文献

Novel columnar liquid crystals whose molecular structures consist of a C3 star-shaped 1,3,5-triazine unit as a central core, and three pendant 2-phenyl-5-(di-, and/or tri-n-alkoxyphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole arms, containing ether connecting groups, variable number and positions of linear alkoxy chains were synthesised and their mesomorphic properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, polarised optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The mesomorphic properties were found to be dependent on the length, position and number of the peripheral alkoxy chains. Most compounds form enantiotropic hexagonal columnar phases. These compounds also show photoluminescent properties in the visible region with good quantum yields. Photophysical studies were realised in solution and in solid state. Also, solvatofluorochromism and cyclic voltammetry studies were performed.  相似文献

In continuation of our previous work,1–2 the effects of polishing time, sp. gr. of the electrolyte, addition of EDTA, electrolyte level, etc., on the position, size and shape of the variously polished bands obtained in a Hull cell have now been studied. I–V measurement when carried out showed that total cell voltage increases regularly with total cell current, thereby affording no explanation for the variously polished bands. However, with a specially designed probe electrode,3 it has been possible to study the current distribution as existing during polarisation at different points of the anode surface and thus offer some explanation for the appearance of variously polished bands which could not be interpreted earlier in terms of electrode potentials.  相似文献

Seventeen diterpenes belonging to the labdane, abietane and isopimarane skeleton classes were isolated from the resin of the Chilean gymnosperm Austrocedrus chilensis and identified by spectroscopic and spectrometric methods. The diterpene 12-oxo-labda-8(17),13E-dien-19 oic acid is reported for the first time as a natural product and 14 diterpenes are reported for the first time for the species.  相似文献
