The purpose of the study was to determine the chemical composition and antibacterial activity of Lippia multiflora Moldenke essential oils (EOs) collected in different regions of Angola. Antibacterial activity was evaluated using the agar wells technique and vapour phase test. Analysis of the oils by GC/MS identified thirty-five components representing 67.5 to 100% of the total oils. Monoterpene hydrocarbons were the most prevalent compounds, followed by oxygenated monoterpenes. The content of the compounds varied according to the samples. The main components were Limonene, Piperitenone, Neral, Citral, Elemol, p-cymene, Transtagetone, and Artemisia ketone. Only one of the eleven samples contained Verbenone as the majority compound. In the vapour phase test, a single oil was the most effective against all the pathogens studied. The principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) of components of the selected EOs and inhibition zone diameter values of agar wells technique allowed us to identify a variability between the plants from the two provinces, but also intraspecific variability between sub-groups within a population. Each group of essential oils constituted a chemotype responsible for their bacterial inhibition capacity. The results presented here suggest that Angolan Lippia multiflora Moldenke has antibacterial properties and could be a potential source of antimicrobial agents for the pharmaceutical and food industry.  相似文献

In this work, composite microelectrodes from poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and carbon nanotubes (CNT) are characterized as electrochemical sensing material for neurotransmitters. Dopamine can be detected using square wave voltammetry at these microelectrodes. The CNTs improve the sensitivity by a factor of two. In addition, the selectivity towards dopamine in the presence of ascorbic acid and uric acid was examined. While both electrodes, PEDOT and PEDOT‐CNT are able to detect all measured concentrations of dopamine in the presence of uric acid, small concentrations of dopamine and ascorbic acid are only distinguishable at PEDOT‐CNT electrodes. Changing the pH has a strong influence on the selectivity. Moreover, it is possible to detect concentrations as low as 1 µM dopamine in complex cell culture medium. Finally, other catecholamines like serotonin, epinephrine, norepinephrine and L ‐dopa are also electrochemically detectable at PEDOT‐CNT microelectrodes.  相似文献

A rapid synthetic procedure in two steps from perfluoroalkylethyl iodide derivatives led to 18 novel ammonium type hybrid surfactants of the general formula: R(F)(CH(2))(2)S(CH(2))(2)N(+)(CH(3))(2)R(H)Br(-) (R(F) = C(4)F(9), C(6)F(13), C(8)F(17); R(H) = C(4)H(9), C(6)H(13), C(8)H(17), C(10)H(21), C(12)H(25), C(14)H(29)). These hybrid surfactants exhibited very low surface tension (from 16 to 25 mN/m) as well as low critical micellar concentration until 1.5 × 10(-5) mol/L. A special focus was made on aggregation phenomenon as giant multilamellar "brainlike" vesicles were observed via cryogenic scanning electron microscopy (cryoSEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM; with a contrast agent) suggesting a high encapsulation ability and a very important specific surface of these particular organizations.  相似文献

The present study provides new data concerning the chemical characterisation of Physcia mediterranea Nimis, a rare Mediterranean species belonging to the family Physciaceae. The phytochemical screening was carried out using GC-MS, HPLC-ESI-MS-MS, and NMR techniques. Hot extraction of n-hexane was carried out, followed by separation of the part insoluble in methanol: wax (WA-hex), from the part soluble in methanol (ME-hex). GC-MS analysis of the ME-hex part revealed the presence of methylbenzoic acids such as sparassol and atraric acid and a diterpene with a kaurene skeleton which has never been detected before in lichen species. Out of all the compounds identified by HPLC-ESI-MS-MS, sixteen compounds are common between WA-hex and ME-hex. Most are aliphatic fatty acids, phenolic compounds and depsides. The wax part is characterised by the presence of atranorin, a depside of high biological value. Proton 1H and carbon 13C NMR have confirmed its identification. Atranol, chloroatranol (depsides compound), Ffukinanolide (sesquiterpene lactones), leprolomin (diphenyl ether), muronic acid (triterpenes), and ursolic acid (triterpenes) have also been identified in ME-hex. The results suggested that Physcia mediterranea Nimis is a valuable source of bioactive compounds that could be useful for several applications as functional foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.  相似文献

New compounds (RFC2H4SC2H4R′F with RF=R′F ou RF≠R′F), corresponding sulfoxides and sulfones, and related compounds, were prepared, purified and characterized to investigate further the relationship between chemical structure and their usefulness as components of artificial blood.The Sulfides are chemically inert; only oxidations leading to sulfoxides and sulfones under very hard conditions (concentrated H2O2, heating) were performed.The oxygen carrier capability was leasured by two ways: —Determination of magnetic susceptibility by NMR using two different configuration spectrometers. — Gas chromatography.Results of the two methods are in good agreement and the same as the best products used as artificial blood substitutes : O2(40% vol., NMR and G.C.), N2(35% vol., G.C.), CO2(150ml/100ml G.C.). Other avantages of such products : — Synthesis quite simple, specific univocal chemical routes. -Series of homologous compounds to permit optimisation of vapor pressure and viscosity on which depends the most important parameters of emulsions - Starting materials commercially available; -Quite quantitative yields. News series of related compounds were obtained, modifying basic structure in the former step of the synthesis by chemical routes.  相似文献

Human blood at physiological volume concentration exhibits non-Newtonian and thixotropic properties. The blood flow in the microcirculation is pulsatile, initiated from the heart pulse and can be considered as superposition of two partial flows: a) a steady shear, and b) an oscillatory shear. Until now steady and viscoelastic behavior were separately investigated. Here we present the response to the combination of steady and oscillatory shear for human blood, a high molecular weight aqueous polymer solution (polyacrylamide AP 273E) and an aqueous xanthan gum solution. The polyacrylamide and xanthan solutions are fluids that model the rheological properties of human blood. In general, parameters describing blood viscoelasticity became less pronounced as superimposed steady shear increased, especially at low shear region and by elasticity, associated with reduction in RBC aggregation. The response of polymer solutions to superposition shows qualitative similarities with blood by elasticity, but their quantitative response differed from that of blood. By viscosity another behavior was observed. The superposition effect on viscous component was described by a modified Carreau equation and for the elastic component by an exponential equation.Paper in part presented at the Symposium on Rheology and Computational Fluid Mechanics dedicated to the memory of Prof. A.
