The kinetics of the oxidation of five catecholamines viz., dopamine (A), L-dopa (B), methyldopa (C), epinephrine (D) and norepinephrine
(E) by sodium N-chloro-p-toluenesulfonamide or chloramine-T (CAT) in presence of HClO4 was studied at 30±0.1 °C. The five reactions followed identical kinetics with a first-order dependence on [CAT]

, and inverse fractional-order in [H+]. Under comparable experimental conditions, the rate of oxidation of catecholamines increases in the order D>E>A>B>C. The
variation of ionic strength of the medium and the addition of p-toluenesulfonamide or halide ions had no significant effect
on the reaction rate. The rate increased with decreasing dielectric constant of the medium. The solvent isotope effect was
studied using D2O. A Michaelis-Menten type mechanism has been suggested to explain the results. Equilibrium and decomposition constants for
CAT-catecholamine complexes have been evaluated. CH3C6H4SO2NHCl of the oxidant has been postulated as the reactive oxidizing species and oxidation products were identified. An isokinetic
relationship is observed with β=361 K, indicating that enthalpy factors control the reaction rate. The mechanism proposed

A micro-contact printing technique was used to fabricate a polypyrrole/polymethylene pattern on a gold surface. ω-(N-Pyrroyl)undecanethiol (PyC11SH) acts as ink for the generation of a pyrrole-terminal monolayer patterned on gold. This monolayer-patterned surface functions
as a resist for the selective growth of polymethylene by catalytic decomposition of diazomethane on the gold surface. It also
functions as a monomer for the electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole on the PyC11SH monolayer-patterned surface. The polypyrrole/polymethylene pattern was fabricated by an electrochemical polymerization
method. The polypyrrole was grown on the pyrrole-patterned surface by potential scanning between 0.0 and 1.2 V vs. Ag wire.
The thickness of the polypyrrole growth increases with the increasing number of cycles. The structural features of the patterned
surface can be determined by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy.

A variety of new coumarin derivatives containing C-4 bridged 2,6-dicyanoanilines (4a-4d) were synthesized via multicomponent one pot approach. These novel sensors were characterized by spectral analysis and a series of pH sensing fluorescence studies were performed, the results indicating that the sensors are highly selective and more effective at various pH. Pursuing our recent interest regarding antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities of coumarin derivatives, we have synthesized a series of coumarin-linked pyridopyrimidinones by using Baylis Hillman adduct in aqueous condition with high purity. Pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-2-ones are important class of heterocyclic compounds because of their use in medicinal and agro chemistry as active agents. All these newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity. Coumarin pyridopyrimidinones showed excellent anti-inflammatory activity against both MMP-2 and MMP-9 gelatinase zymography, whereas considerable good activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains; however, antifungal activity observed in these series is more or less inactive. The active compounds of these series would be promising structural templates for the development of novel and more efficient anti-inflammatory agent. 相似文献

The electrical characteristics of nylon-6 nanofibers incorporated with TiO2 and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were investigated. The resultant nanofibers exhibited good incorporation of nanoparticles. The impregnated TiO2 and Fe3O4 nanoparticles into the nylon-6 nanofibers were confirmed by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy studies. The electrical conductivity of the nylon-6 incorporated with TiO2 and Fe3O4 composite nanofibers were higher than that of the pristine nylon-6 nanofibers. The impregnation of TiO2 and Fe3O4 nanoparticles significantly enhanced the electrical property of the composite nanofibers. These polymeric/nanoparticles composite nanofibers structure may open a new direction for future organic electronics. 相似文献
