This paper examines the non-linear dynamic behaviour of a flexible shaft. The shaft is mounted on two journal bearings and the axial load is supported by a defective hydrodynamic thrust bearing at one end. The defect is a levelness defect of the rotor. The thrust bearing behaviour must be considered to be non-linear because of the effects of the defect. The shaft is modelled with typical beam finite elements including effects such as the gyroscopic effects. A modal technique is used to reduce the number of degrees of freedom. Results show that the thrust bearing defects introduce supplementary critical speeds. The linear approach is unable to show the supplementary critical speeds which are obtained only by using non-linear analysis. 相似文献

To describe the flows of fluids over a wide range of pressures, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the viscosity
of the fluid depends on the pressure. That the viscosity depends on the pressure has been verified by numerous careful experiments.
While the existence of solutions local-in-time to the equations governing the flows of such fluids are available for small,
special data and rather unrealistic dependence of the viscosity on the pressure, no global existence results are in place.
Our interest here is to establish the existence of weak solutions for spatially periodic three-dimensional flows that are
global in time, for a large class of physically meaningful viscosity-pressure relationships.

The structures of dioxaphosphepane (I) and dioxaphosphecane (II) salts prepared by hydrolysis of the corresponding bicyclophosphates have been compared. In both cases, hydrolysis occurs with breaking of the P–O bond of the fragment at the secondary carbon atom of bicyclophosphate. In phosphocycles I and II, the endocyclic bond angles O–P–O are 104.2 and 104.9°, and the exocyclic ones are 117.7 and 118.6°, respectively. Conformations of the anions in I and II differ substantially: for I it is a twist conformationC1TC4, and for II a distorted armchair. In the present study, photodynamic activity of a novel photosensitizer (PS), Chlorin e(6)-2.5 N-methyl-d-glucamine (BLC 1010), was evaluated using the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) as an in vivo model. After intravenous (i.v.) injection of BLC 1010 into the CAM vasculature, the applicability of this drug for photodynamic therapy (PDT) was assessed in terms of fluorescence pharmacokinetics, i.e. leakage from the CAM vessels, and photothrombic activity. The influence of different PDT parameters including drug and light doses on the photodynamic activity of BLC 1010 has been investigated. It was found that, irrespective of drug dose, an identical continuous decrease in fluorescence contrast between the drug inside and outside the blood vessels was observed. The optimal treatment conditions leading to desired vascular damage were obtained by varying drug and light doses. Indeed, observable damage was achieved when irradiation was performed at light doses up to 5 J/cm(2) 1 min after i.v. injection of drug doses up to 0.5 mg/kg body weight(b.w.). However, when irradiation with light doses of more than 10 J/cm(2) was performed 1 min after injection of drug doses up to 2 mg/kg body weight, this led to occlusion of large blood vessels. It has been demonstrated that it is possible to obtain the desired vascular occlusion and stasis with BLC 1010 for different combinations of drug and/or light doses. 相似文献

Enterococcus faecalis is one of most important nosocomial and often multi‐antibiotic resistant pathogens responsible for infections that are difficult to treat. Previously, a cell‐wall polysaccharide termed diheteroglycan (DHG) was isolated and characterized as a promising vaccine candidate. However, the configuration of its lactic acid (LA) residue attached to the galactofuranoside unit was not assessed, although it influences conformation of DHG chain in terms of biological recognition and immune evasion. This study proves the R configuration of the LA residue by means of chemical analysis, investigation of intramolecular NMR nuclear Overhauser effects and molecular dynamics simulations of native DHG and corresponding R and S models, which were obtained by using pyranoside‐into‐furanoside rearrangement. As alternative treatment and prevention strategies for E. faecalis are desperately needed, this discovery may offer the prospect of a synthetic vaccine to actively immunize patients at risk. 相似文献

Great interest in natural furanoside‐containing compounds has challenged the development of preparative methods for their synthesis. Herein a novel reaction in carbohydrate chemistry, namely a pyranoside‐into‐furanoside (PIF) rearrangement permitting the transformation of selectively O‐substituted pyranosides into the corresponding furanosides is reported. The discovered process includes acid‐promoted sulfation accompanied by rearrangement of the pyranoside ring into a furanoside ring followed by solvolytic O‐desulfation. This process, which has no analogy in organic chemistry, was shown to be a very useful tool for the synthesis of furanoside‐containing complex oligosaccharides, which was demonstrated by synthesizing disaccharide derivatives α‐D ‐Galp‐(1→3)‐β‐D ‐ Galf ‐OPr, 3‐O‐s ‐lactyl‐β‐D ‐ Galf ‐(1→3)‐β‐D ‐Glcp‐OPr, and α‐L ‐ Fucf ‐(1→4)‐β‐D ‐GlcpA‐OPr related to polysaccharides from the bacteria Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterococcus faecalis and the brown seaweed Chordaria flagelliformis. 相似文献

The paper deals with the comparison of different theoretical methods for the calculation of stabilization energies of glycosyl cations from fucofuranoside glycosyl donors containing different protecting groups at atom O(3). The experimental and calculated data on stereoselectivity of glycosylation were compared. The formation of the stabilized glycosyl cations is considered as one of the possible steps of glycosylation reaction, which exerts influence on the stereoselectivity of the process and makes it possible to obtain difficultly accessible 1,2-cis-glycosides. Semi-empirical and ab initio methods without allowance for the electron correlation underestimate the stabilization energy values. The allowance for the electron correlation in the MP2 approximation, as well as the calculations by density functional theory, allowed us to obtain the data corresponding to the experimentally observed stereoselectivity. 相似文献
