Reaction of the [B<Subscript>10</Subscript>H<Subscript>9</Subscript>O<Subscript>2</Subscript>C<Subscript>4</Subscript>H<Subscript>8</Subscript>]<Superscript>–</Superscript> anion with C-nucleophiles

The reactions of 1,4-dioxane-substituted closo-decaborate anion ([B₁₀H₉O₂C₄H₈]^–) with metal acetylenides, diethyl malonate, ethyl acetoacetate, triethyl orthoformate, acetylacetone, and malonodinitrile were studied. The reactions were shown to be accompanied with substituent ring opening and attachment of the corresponding pendant functional group. The obtained compounds were characterized by various physicochemical methods (IR and polynuclear NMR spectroscopy, ESI mass spectrometry).     

Modeling of motion of dislocation train through dislocation forest

Modeling methods were used to analyze tie motions of a train of dislocations through a dislocation forest. Differences were found in this motion in the basal plane of hep crystals and in the {11} plane in crystals of the NaCl type. Cross slip of a dislocation during passage through a row of dislocations

We consider the process whereby, under the action of external stresses, a screw dislocation passes through an infinite row of immobile screw dislocations that is parallel to the dislocation, with allowance for the stress field generated by the row. We determine the ranges of impact parameters, within which the dislocation can stop or can climb a dislocation of the row without cross slip of through double cross slip. Trends in dislocation-structure formation along slip lines

Simulation has given statistical relationships for the early stage of slip-band development. Dislocation multiplication is considered within the framework of a double transverse slip model. There is a relationship between the number of loops at the surface and that within the crystal. A method is given for determining the times for source formation and loop generation, and numerical estimates are made from the published experimental data.

Simulation of the formation of a glide band

The initial stage in the development of a glide band in NaCl crystals is simulated. The process of double cross slip of segments of screw dislocations was examined according to the scheme proposed by Wiedersich. A quantitative estimate of the parameters characterizing the development of the glide band is made: structures and rate of expansion of the band, average slip distance of the dislocations, dislocation density, and others. Application of a coulometric method of water titration in the medium of a modified Fischer reagent in which epichlorohydrin is used to shift the equilibrium of sulfur dioxide oxidation by iodine was experimentally substantiated.
